Well, you know, AJ Styles I’ve never been in the ring with but I’ve seen him do some amazing things, things that I could never dream of doing, ah, I’d like to face him in the ring maybe, when he jumps out of the ring, I just won’t catch him.

Randy Orton on AJ Styles. Pure class.

I was watching the 2002 Survivor Series last night and was wondering, why the hell didn't WWE run with the "RNN" Randy Orton gimmick. That was some damn funny shit.

Actually, that's pretty damn funny.

Here's an interesting question: Had Batista actually seriously feuded with Eddie, with none of this friends angle, would Batista be getting booed by a part of the audience?

In my opinion, WWE actually did something pretty smart for once. They had to know it was just a matter of time before Eddie started getting cheered again, so why not pair him with Batista as buddies to have both guys more over? I know eventually someone will be turning (I really hope they hold out of this though, and not do a quick turn in light to what happened to Batista), but this angle was a nice way to get the non-turning guy more over with the fans.

They didn't expect Eddie to get cheered. The idea was for Batista to get the cheers for seeing through Eddie being a fake babyface. Eddie getting cheered was something they weren't expecting or wanting.

It's a trend that continues to happen and WWE continues to be oblivious to it and go the opposite direction and realize it 6 months too late.

Most likely. Hell, near the end of their feud, people were still behind him during the annoying Mysterio program.

You think they would have learned their lesson from the botched turn on Tajiri.

Haha, I got to see the Gurrero heel turn on Tajiri live. No one cared for Tajiri during the beatdown and we cheered Eddy through the whole "heel turn." God damn, Eddy was so fucking over that night and during that era... there were "Cheat, Eddy Cheat" chants and anytime Tajiri was in we chanted for Eddy.

I miss the old days when people used to throw crap.

Seriously, when I think of the glory days of the WWF and WCW, I vividly recall people attacking wrestlers with their signs in the aisleway and people throwing crap at the direction of the ring.

Speaking of which, why aren't the WWF's Attitude Era and WCW from 1996-1998 "dissected" on these boards more often? Doesn't get enough love, yo.

I loved the visual of Eddie in near tears as he gives a nice, warm hug to . . . the hood of his lowrider. :)

Wrestling 365 newsletter:

Scott Steiner said in a recent interview that when he was working for the WWE he was asked to test for steroids. He told the company: "Cool, just send over Triple H in a limo and we can go take ours together." He said the subject was never brought up again after that.

The Boogeyman is from Parts Unknown, apparently.

Lock your door, look for suspicious shadows and hope you do not hear the tick tock of the clock as if you do, be very afraid because you're about to face your deepest fear ... the Boogeyman is coming to getcha!

From out of the shadows in which he may appear, the Boogeyman now lurks on Friday Night SmackDown. A face of mindless evil, it is said that the Boogeyman feasts on fear and is fueled by the paranoia of others. Relishing in the opportunity to recite deeply unsettling rhymes and riddles, the Boogeyman celebrates the delicious destruction of his next victim. Indeed, the Boogeyman has arrived on SmackDown and he has grand plans of creating havoc.

During the summer of 2005, bone chilling commercials for “The Boogeyman” began running during Friday Night SmackDown and other WWE programming filled with haunting screams and a very memorable sinister laugh. However, something disturbing happened on the set during film and the show was instantly put on hold by the network.

RAW from the U.K.

November 21, 2005.

With just one week before the Survivor Series pay-per-view, be sure to tune into RAW Monday night on the USA Network (9/8 CT) as Eric Bischoff and his Superstars come to you from the United Kingdom.

In what promises to be an instant mat classic, Olympic Gold Medalist will take on his former associate Shelton Benjamin in one-on-one action. Shelton broke into WWE under Angle's tutelage, but did Angle teach him everything he knows?

Singles Match

Kurt Angle .VS. Shelton Benjamin.

so Shelton is 0-2 against him already this year and NOW they want to acknowledge the connection between the two? well get ready for 0-3 because there's no way Angle is losing before his championship match...

poor Shelton...

I loved the Shelton/Angle match. I still think if they would push Shelton like they pushed Bret Hart he can be huge. Eventually he'll be good enough on the mic to cut long promos. Just have him start a journey to the gold, he can put on a good match with anyone just like Bret. Start with Carlito cause he never managed to beat him, have him easily beat Carlito. Then Kurt Angle at WrestleMania in a REAL classic match and Angle "passes the torch", then Shelton beats HBK on a normal RAW before a PPV, then Shelton beats HBK and let's say Chris Masters in a no.1 contenders match for the WWE Title on PPV. Hopefully someone like Edge is the champ by then or a heel John Cena and Shelton loses to him first but then in their second bout at Summerslam he wins the gold and he's a draw. That's how I would book it

You know...I'm sure there has been, but has there ever been a more curious direction given to a wrestler like the one with Shelton? It just doesn't make sense with how he's being booked...going back to his match with HBK earlier this year, he was going strong, came off an impressive performance at WM, and even though he lost the match, he had to be the best example of "losing a match yet still getting over"...as much as we knock HBK here, he really did everything in his power to get Shelton over...but after that, the downward spiral began and now he's pulling internet Heat duty while floudering at the very bottom of a poll based on a fake sport...the past couple of Raws have shown us that the guy is still over with the fans so what the fuck are they doing? I really don't get it...I guess RVD could be another example of this same nonsensical booking...perhaps another job to Angle will be a slowburn lead to bigger and better things comenext year between the two...who knows?

Speaking of RVD, when in the world is he coming back? He's been out for almost a year now.

Does anyone know?

It's got to be a short list. Austin vs Undertaker (Summerslam 1998) and Brock vs Undertaker (No Mercy 2002) are the only two examples that immediately spring to mind.

I'm not sure if it was announced already, but I was looking around WWE.com's live event schedule to see when they're coming near, and was suprised to see Albany listed for New Year's Resolution. Considering it falls over my college break, I'm definitly making the road trip.

I've skipped the last few shows at the Pepsi Arena in Albany. I'll attend a PPV, though. I don't think I've been to a PPV since 2000.
