Comments which don't warrant a thread

Don't get me started on that. At SummerSlam the only titles defended were the WWE/World/ECW championships.

and that is pretty telling about the current way titles are represented.

It would take a long look back at the IC title's history to see where it began to look... like less.

It's been discussed. Around the time it was passed around like candy during the JJ/Chyna/Road Dogg months until guys like Jericho, Angle, and Benoit got their hands on it in 2000... since it's ressurection a few years ago it's basically been horrible.

I wonder if the dragon in that poster is supposed to be a reference to Batista's back tattoo as well as the whole King Booker medieval fairy tale thing.

I'm sure it's just supposed to be a symbolisation of 'slaying the dragon'.

You guys are giving way too much credit to the WWE here.

It helps, since like, he is a Wrestler.

Wait, nevermind I take that back, Cena's not a wrestler.

With a line like that how are you not a standup comedian?

I just got the new Observer. I'm sure HTQ will have detailed notes up soon, but this one can't wait. Apparently Vince has demanded that the word "belt" not be used on WWE, OVW, and DSW television, because it's too "old-time wrestling" for him. That was the same reason why Ken Anderson was changed to Ken Kennedy, because "Anderson" is too "old-school".

So that's why Double A isn't on TV anymore.

And actually in a twisted way, I can get WWE not wanting to associate the title with the public definition of a "belt". They probably wanted to make the title mean more than that, but that brings the question of how they keep ruining the credibility of said titles, but thats another story.

Referring to it as a championship belt doesn't do nearly as much damage as giving it second billing behind a pointless, stale and ridiculously drawn-out feud that is half made up of non-wrestlers.

well apparently they banned the word "creative" years ago.

you hit the nail right on the head. They should call themselves world wrestling garbage instead.

So instead of saying belt, the annoucers will just call it a strap.
