BorneAgain Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 *Backstage, Paul Heyman welcomed WWE World champion King Booker and Sharmell this week to ECW. *Sabu & Tommy Dreamer & Sandman defeated Matt Striker & Mike Knox & Test, DQ when Test shoved the referee. The brawl continues until Sandman starts caning everyone, but he doesn't get his hands on Striker. *Backstage, Paul Heyman introduces Booker and Sharmell to ECW stars. They meet Stevie Richards and Christopher W. Anderson. They meet Balls Mahoney and are grossed out by him. *Kevin Thorn (with Ariel) pinned. Balls Mahoney (with Francine). Ariel tripped Balls, which led to a catfight. Mahoney was distracted and caught by Thorn with the Razor's Edge. *Backstage, King Booker and Sharmell meet The FBI (with the returning Trinity) and then CM Punk. Punk says that perhaps one day they'll wrestle for the WWE World title. *CM Punk defeats Shannon Moore. Kelly Kelly was watching from the entranceway, but Mike Knox made her leave. *Backstage, Rob Van Dam challenges Booker T to a match tonight. Booker accepts. *Paul Heyman and the security force come to the ring. He tries to speak but is booed. Booker used a scissors kick on a chair for the pin
BorneAgain Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 So ECW is not live anymore? I couldn't tell you. I believe next week is a supershow so I don't know if that's a factor (which it shouldn't be as its gotten a live TV show of its own before) or if its for good.
Scroby Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Doesn't sound like a bad show. Franchine is with Ball though? Yay for her getting some TV time though.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Francine likes Balls. That's the only explanation they need to give. E C DUB! E C DUB!
BorneAgain Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 No Big Show. HMM Huge bump in HIAC at Unforgiven?
Grenouille Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I wonder how long the Heyman promo will go on TV. Sitting there it felt like it went on for 20 minutes, but the guy had the crowd the whole time. The six year old yelling obscenities made it fun though, until his father who was sitting a few sections away came to check on him, good parenting, there chief. Smartly though, he didn't let the kid take a beer used by Sandman that was left near our area.
Guest Connzilla Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 King Booker on ECW TV fuck yes
Hawk 34 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I wonder if they are building towards anything with Punk and The FBI. This marks the second week that they are involved in some way in a backstage. Since Moore has jobbed twice now to Punk, it's time for him to get the pink slip or become Thorn's servent.
cabbageboy Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Oh Jesus, they finally jobbed an ECW guy out to one of these guest stars. I won't come down too hard on it this time since SD isn't even on here until the CW debut, so this ECW show will be a chance to see Booker. That said, what is with this shit with Hardcore Holly? Have they ever explained why he hates RVD so much or why he would constantly run in on his matches? It's not yet on "Worst Feud of the Year" level, but they are making entirely too much out of a 2nd rate mini feud. Why not just have an extreme rules match, RVD destroys Holly, end of story? There's nothing to prolong here.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 No Big Show. HMM Huge bump in HIAC at Unforgiven? I was saying that in last nights thread, and now Im pretty much sure of it.
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Meltz had a schedule for the next many weeks of ECW tapings - I forget all of it now, but there were few, if any, live dates.
Hawk 34 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Which is good. Aside from the Hammerstein show, the taped versions (such as last night) were consistantly more sound. It fits ECW to be taped, as opposed to being live.
Guest nokia Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Francine & Trinity NEXT week =
pochorenella Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 That said, what is with this shit with Hardcore Holly? Have they ever explained why he hates RVD so much or why he would constantly run in on his matches? I think I remember Heyman telling Holly that RVD had said some derogatory things about him regarding his Hardcore name/reputation or something to that effect. Therefore Holly got pissed at Van Dam.
cabbageboy Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Oh, and Holly believes a well known liar like Heyman? They can't shoot a brief bit in the back after that where Holly confronts RVD about these alleged remarks, then Rob tells him to fuck off? It's like an insta feud where they can't be bothered to think up an actual storyline, but shouldn't the top face on the show have something more than an insta feud?
Dandy Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Pretty sure it was implied that Heyman brought in Holly. In that case, what we saw on TV was a short explanation for us viewers, but he has no doubt told Holly that his first job was to take out Van Dam.
pochorenella Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Oh, and Holly believes a well known liar like Heyman? They can't shoot a brief bit in the back after that where Holly confronts RVD about these alleged remarks, then Rob tells him to fuck off? Holly certainly drank Heyman's Kool Aid. I'm not implying that it was a well done angle or anything like that. I'm only saying there was precedent for the actions, even if it was a flimsy one. As for Holly believing a well-known liar? Most wrestlers are stupid and/or gullible and easily distracted. How else would you explain any of them being distracted by a manager/valet/second in a match when they have a match won?
NoCalMike Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Well if ECW isn't live anymore that is Step 1, now they need to execute Step 2 which is give them their own tapings in front of ECW Crowds and tape 2-3 weeks at once.
Corey_Lazarus Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 *Kevin Thorn (with Ariel) pinned. Balls Mahoney (with Francine). Ariel tripped Balls, which led to a catfight. Mahoney was distracted and caught by Thorn with the Razor's Edge. The same Ariel that's a former NECW Women's champion? Somebody got a pic?
Insanity Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 King Booker vs Rob Van Dam = Insanity's markout heaven
FroGG_NeaL Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 I'm mostly looking forward to the Scissor Kick onto a chair.
dubq Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Wow, I am sick sick sick of this stupid Kool-Aid reference. Really. How many casual wrestling fans even know what the fuck Jonestown is? They sure like beating dead horses...
Hawk 34 Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Wow, I am sick sick sick of this stupid Kool-Aid reference. Really. Kool-Aid, is a pretty conventional saying that most people get even if they aren't aware of its orgin. I do like the usage of an worn out cliche in relation to another.
uhftv Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Everytime I think theyre setting up a longtime program for the ppv they blow it off the next show. And I dont like having the same match for consecutive weeks like Punk/Moore. Especially if it's a squash, cause they could use someone else, and it makes it feel as if they dont have enough guys. They'll probably ignore the history of Booker and Rob being put on Smackdown together at the same time as the tagteam made up of former ppv maineventers that were pedigreed to the midcard. I actually dont mind using talent from other shows as long as it's underutilized guys like, tagteams. Yeah pretty mun anyone on smackdown i dont mind, since its so hard to find the last 9 months.
Scroby Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Styles is annoucing, so chances are RVD's and Booker T's history just might get mentioned.
