MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 Two controllers would solve a few peoples problem with the fact that the system begs to have a 2nd controller and having to buy a 2nd one makes it cost as much as a 360.. Im kinda hoping for component cables included though myself..

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 While Nintendo giving me something at launch I wouldn't otherwise get is nice and all, it isn't that "big" really. Something "big" would be a game that completely obliterates my low expectations of what the system can actually do, powerwise, and Nintendo has already said that probably ain't going to happen. Even they are downplaying its power.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 You would. Whats wrong with wanting to be able to hook it up with the best cables without having to go through all the trouble to get the component cables..?
EricMM 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 Because my tv still uses the Red/Yellow/White cables.

Im kinda hoping for component cables included though myself.. I haven't seen if they are customer component or regular. If regular why would you hope that they put in a $5 set of cables? I think the 2nd controller would be better.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 Cause Im not gonna need a 2nd controller as much as I'll want the component cables.. duh The component cables arent going to be $5 either..cheapest Ive seen was $20 + S&H from overstock.com although I saw some places were charging more, because they aren't going to be sold in stores, only online. Uh..none of those cables are cables for the Nintendo W!! though. You cant just use any component cables, hell you cant even use the elusive GC component cables for it.. and don't bring Jesus into this, I doubt he would play video games. MrRant 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 I'm sure Jesus would play video games when he is tired of using people.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 I'd think it would be more likely that they'd include the "classic" controller instead of an extra remote/nunchuku set. I mean, they want people playing Virtual Console games right from the start.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 I wonder if Nintendo is going to use the same kind of AV (or higher) cable plug in they used for Super Nintendo, N64, and the Gamecube for the Wii. The SNES, N64, and Cube all had the same kind AV Port.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2006 It would appear not: http://wii.ign.com/articles/738/738362p1.html It's also noticable that it appears both the component cables and the A/V cable appear to connect to the same port, instead of having separate digital/analog outputs like the Gamecube. It's well known the Gamecube component cables don't work on the Wii, either.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted November 1, 2006 Can someone please answer my questions. Is it true that you can play any nintendo game ever made on the Wii? How is that possible? How much is it going to cost for me to get Mike Tyson's punchout or anyother old game onto the Wii.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 No probably not any nintendo game ever made. But many of them will be available. Most likely all of the first party games at the very least. it will be done online and downloaded via Wii's internet connection. This is called the virtual console. I don't recall the cost, but I think it's like $5.00 for an NES game, $8.00 for N64 games?
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 If a game involves a licence, you probably won't see it on the Virtual Console (Punch-Out will probably be the Mr. Dream version, don't hold your breath for GoldenEye, etc.). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Console_%28Wii%
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 1up posted the VC titles set to be available at launch: NES Games (500 Wii Points) Mario Bros.: Mario and Luigi punch turtles. The Legend of Zelda: The original Hyrulean adventure. Donkey Kong: The game that put Nintendo on the map. Donkey Kong Jr.: Not quite a classic, but its cameo in Yoshi's Island DS is pretty boss. Ice Hockey: Fat guy, normal guy and skinny guy hit the ice. Pinball: Mario moonlights as a paddle in this one. Soccer: Another early NES sports title. About soccer! Tennis: Simple but effective volley action. Urban Champion: An early, and not particularly good, brawler. Wario's Woods: A falling-block puzzle game starring Wario. Baseball: Yet another early NES sports game. Solomon's Key: A surprisingly difficult puzzle-action game. SNES Games (800 Wii Points) F-Zero: A futuristic racer that reinvented the genre. SimCity: Make your city awesome and you'll get a statue of Mario! N64 Games (1000 Wii Points) Super Mario 64: The template for 3D platform gaming. Genesis Games (800 Wii Points) Sonic the Hedgehog: Spiky guy, attitude, goes fast. You know this one. Altered Beast: This bestial brawler will make you wise fwom your gwave! Golden Axe: One of the best multiplayer brawlers ever made. Columns: Before Bejeweled, there was Columns. Ecco the Dolphin: Save the ocean in this beautiful (but difficult) adventure. Gunstar Heroes: The action/shooter/platformer/brawler that made Treasure a hardcore fave. Space Harrier II: A fast-paced shooter featuring super-scaler action! Toe Jam & Earl: A funky and oddly mellow adventure. Ristar: Sega's less popular 16-bit mascot. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine: (Psst, it's actually Puyo Pop.) TurboGrafx 16 Games (600 Wii Points) Bonk's Adventure: Carnivorous caveman antics. Super Star Soldier: Superlative space shooting. Victory Run: Slick racing action. Bomberman '93: Explosive multiplayer mayhem. Dungeon Explorer: Classic RPG combat. Nintendo reportedly plans to make ten new games available every month, so retro fans may want to set aside a budget -- if future releases can uphold this level of quality, all those Wii games may become almost a secondary consideration. . Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 It was a smart move by Nintendo having more TBGFX and Genesis games available at the start. No offense to them, but if they loaded up the VC with Nintendo games at the start, most casual gamers would flock to those games instead. It should do a lot to help make sure more and more of the non-Nintendo games are released for the VC.

Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 I'm marking out for Bonk!!!! Seriously, that was the one game I wanted to play as a kid but never played it because I never had any of the system(s?). This is fucking awesome! If Nintendo can keep up with putting out a whole bunch of retro games a month, they will be better than Xbox Live Arcade.

Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Report post Posted November 1, 2006 Supposedly EB/GameStop are getting Wii Kiosks tomorrow. The playable game will either be Wii Sports or Excite Truck. They will also require you to lend them your driver's license while you play, (for security purposes only, because of the Wiimote being wireless and can be easily stolen). So if you don't see the Wiimote lying around anywhere, ask an employee, as it will most likely be behind the counter, in their possession. Too bad for kids.
