Kanyon claims that Bret Hart told him Montreal was a work

I just heard an interview on http://www.thaoshow.com with Kanyon that LOP readers

may be interested in. It's about an hour long, but among other things Kanyon

talks about (in the second part) a conversation with Bret Hart where Bret

tells him that he was in on the "Montreal Screwjob" ! I copied this from

the recap on the site:

And here's the BIG SCOOP: Kanyon blew the lid off of one of the biggest

stories in the history of professional wrestling. For the first time ever,

he publicly discussed a casual conversation he had with Bret Hart. You won't

BELIEVE what Bret told Chris about the Montreal screwjob! Bret Hart admitted

the whole thing, WAS A WORK! Don't believe it? LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW!

This guy has become real obnoxious ever since his career went to shit. Is there anything he won't say or do to get his name out there?

Even if it was a work, which it wasn't, then why would Bret Hart tell Kanyon of all people?

I'm with Kanyon, he's doing everything to keep his name out in the spotlight instead of fading away without a fight like most former WWE employees. Plus,he's creative with some of his actions.

As for the Bret thing, he might said those things in a joking, non serious tone.

El Dandy, of course. Come on Bret would have told El Dandy about it. Cause who are we to doubt El Dandy?

Well, here's his next move.

Jim Ross posted a blog entry on his official website yesterday so that he could reply to the e-mails he was getting regarding Kurt Angle in TNA, Vince Russo in TNA, ROH, tag team wrestling, the nWo/DX rumors, and more. You can check out that blog entry by clicking here.

Also, people can reply with their comments on the blog. Former WWE and WCW wrestler Chris Kanyon decided to chime in with his comments and air out some grievances that had been bothering him. Here is what he posted:

Chris Kanyon Says:

September 28th, 2006 at 10:29 pm

JR, I no longer have respect for you like I once did, I even found you to be a little cute, but the way I was fired and miss-treated while in WWE was wrong and straight out discriminatory. You claim vince is not racist? What about the gay people such as myself and Orlando Jordan that were released? OJ was made to look like a fool infront of the fans and had a even more racist gimmick suggestion from creative team, he said he didn't feel comfortable making fun of what he was and for that he was fired! So tell me J.R why would vince fire OJ other than those reasons? he was skilled in the ring, did what managment asked… No, it was not that he was a bad worker that got him fired, it was that he was a Homosexual!!!!! I was fired for the same reason. Remember when I was told to look like a bad gay person on national TV and then let the Undertaker beat the s**t out of me because you claimed America hates gays and will eat it up? Well f**k you j.r! your a lieing piece of garbage and your a gay hater!

Good thing that Vince doesn't have any gay long time employees..................wait a minute.

That doesn't change the fact that over ninety percent of the time gay people are made fun of in interviews or put down in wrestling angles. The WWE does not portray gays in a positive light even if they do have employees that are gay.

The best part is when he says he used to think J.R. was cute.

yeah, what the fuck was that.

He's right on the money when it comes to articulating WWE's racist and homophomic tendencies.

Whose to say that he didnt tell Kanyon it was a work. There is certainly evidence that supports that it wasnt 100% legit. I dont understand why people are getting all emotional about like he is desecrating some religious event or symbol.

Does this 'evidence' contradict the fact that legal arguments in the Owen Hart lawsuit confirmed, as if it was needed, that Montreal was real?

I dont know much about the lawsuit but what surfaced in the Owen hart lawsuit that "confirmed" SS '97's legitimacy. Even Meltzer himself said that the full story has yet to be revealed. We're talking about a conspiracy between individuals. To me its just interesting that everything fell conveniently into place: THe evolution of Mr. McMahon, Bret bombing in WCW, miked during Wrestling with Shadows...ext.

From Meltzer:

I've read the court papers. Hell, I was in the middle of one of the cases (Owen Hart wrongful death case where the Survivor Series was brought up specifically as a key part of the defense argument and mentioned by the prosecution as well) , and I can tell you that I'm not working you, and that case settled for $18 million and you mean to say one side wouldn't call work when the other used it as its main defense with tens of millions at stake?

You don't involve the court in two sides working an angle. You don't have lawyers going back and forth constantly on legal settlements in front of judges in a worked angle. There were lawyers going back and worth the entire week before the match, and in several cases involving the movie and Owen Hart after the match, as well as threats of persecution for assault and damage to property on one side and breach of contract on the other that didn't get filed.

You don't have lawyers for Turner involved in legal proceedings involving the Wrestling with Shadows tape on an internally worked WWF angle.

Davey Boy Smith also strained his knee pulling Shane McMahon off during the non-existent fight, and then quit the company over a worked angle and ended up paying $100,000 to Vince McMahon (for real, a legal settlement) so he could leave and go to WCW, a move he greatly regretted a few months later, by the way. Owen Hart tried to also quit the company over a "worked angle" but was told he would not be allowed out of his contract.

Bret Hart also turned down how many straight years of begin asked to come back over a "worked angle" that he refuses to come to its conclusion. He was told if he could just do 5:00 with Vince he'd main event this year's Mania and they told him it would do 1 million buys and he turned down the match, and turned down a ref job of the main event at two different Manias, returns at virtually every Survivor Series.

Isn't the idea of shooting the greatest angle in the world to then make money with the payoff?

Just a quick question relating to what you just said from Meltzer, what was the basis of using Montreal in the Owen Hart case?

I don't really know, but I'm guessing it might have been to do with Owen wanting to leave after Montreal, ie: if Montreal was a work, then Owen didn't really want to leave, and so he willingly stuck around. Like I said, I don't know for sure, but it must have been significant if it was a key part of the defense.
