I look forward to our benevolent otter overlords making some changes. If Sony could pull another shipment out of their ass, they should sell 20 gigs for $900 bucks and 60s for $1000. There are clearly idiots willing to pay, and they could advertise it as a conscious, temporary effort to do away with ebay scalping. If you keep the console for 90 days then you're eligible for a partial refund of the rest of the collateral. You'd have to access the Playstation Store with the console to get it.

Granted, you probably can't make $600 in the 12 hours or so it takes to stand in line, but geez, get a life already. You're freezing your BUTT off in line to possibly get to buy an overpriced video game system with hardly any good games out for it. Is your PS2 really so outdated that you have to get the next thing already? Anyone else hear the story out today about the brilliant Wal-Mart manager who set up ten chairs, and had people RUN for the chairs in order to get to buy a PS3? One guy ran into a pillar and had to get stitches. Kind of serves him right, but I'm sure the manager is going to get fired over that one, too.

Do you have to wait in line still? And what about EB or Gamestop in the mall? Do the lines stretch throughout the mall, blocking the Lady Foot Locker and Pretzel Time?

AndrewTS Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 The GC is quite smashable; there was a Youtube vid (I think posted here) where a guy switched out his little brother's Gamecube with a broken one, then shortly afterwards smashed to bits but throwing it on a paved driveway and stomping on it. After the kid cried he told him it wasn't really his GC. The Wii appears to be more fragile than the cube; of course, you'd think the DS is more fragile than it actually is, but it stands up to punishment well.
