Guest Paul Report post Posted September 28, 2006 91 year old Twins owner: "I'd rather play the Yankees because I know we can beat them." Ha. Hahahahaha. I hate the Yankees but the Twins are playoff jokes. Heh. He'll get his wish.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 Dear Comcast: When the Phillies are 1.5 behind the Dodgers with 4 to play, and they have a rain delay, please do not show a 20-minute feature on the 1987 Los Angeles Dodgers.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 No, I'd prefer they show Phillies highlights from this season. Comcast is awful. OOOH, now a tribute to Orel Herschiser!
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 It's funny that there was alot of talk about how Roger should've bailed out on Houston to go to Boston or New York because that was the only way he'd have a shot at the playoffs, and now...look at Boston. And it's gotta be more exciting doing things the way the Astros are. I personally find this kind of thing alot more exciting and interesting than having the division wrapped up from Day 1. Oh, damn, Houston's eliminated from the WC. I guess they'll just have to win the division instead. Come on, Brewers!
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 Oh, damn, Houston's eliminated from the WC. I guess they'll just have to win the division instead. Come on, Brewers! Houston never had a realistic shot at the WC anyway.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 They did until about...the middle of August or so. They were only 1 game back at one point, and promptly lost alot of ground. I've been saying for the past month that the Astros would win the Central and the WC winner would have more wins than them. And today, the Astros assured that they'll, at worst, finish the season at .500.
Guest Paul Report post Posted September 29, 2006 But, NY never had their division wrapped up from the start. And when Hideki and Gary were injured, people cried the Yanks wouldn't even make the WC. edit:The more things change...
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 But come on...did anyone really believe the Yankees wouldn't make the postseason? Honestly? That hasn't happened in my lifetime that I recall. And there's Billy Hall with a 2-run jack off of Marquis. Hot diggity damn~!
Guest Paul Report post Posted September 29, 2006 But come on...did anyone really believe the Yankees wouldn't make the postseason? Honestly? That hasn't happened in my lifetime that I recall. Well, I didn't. I knew they weren't even losing the division. But to all those who thought that AJ Burnett and Josh Beckett would cure that....WRONG.

Well, I didn't. I knew they weren't even losing the division. But to all those who thought that AJ Burnett and Josh Beckett would cure that....WRONG. AJ might have had a shot if the pitching staff hadn't been decimated with injuries. He pitched pretty well when he was healthy.

jwest27 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 I was kind of confident about this series with the Brewers. I forgot Marquis was pitching tonight, though. The quest for an ERA above 6 continues tonight!
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 Oh, well I'm watching it on Gameday. He might've given Marquis a reach-around after crossing homeplate. I'm not sure. None of those online gamecasts work well on my brokedick desktop comuter, so I'm simply following the commentary on Orangewhoopass.com. You oughta check it out. Entertaining to follow along with, and the occassional user editorial comments are usually humorously profane. Plus, most of the users are fairly knowledgeable so there's very little in the way of "Yur STOOPID!" comments.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 With help from his friends Billy Hall, David Bell, Mike Rivera, and Tony Gwynn Jr., I sincerely hope that he can accomplish this feat, both for him and the city of St. Louis.

Boston started Kyle Snyder for ten games this year. Six starts for Lenny DiNardo. I know I'm reaching here, but perhaps getting Clemens on the roster would have kept the Red Sox in playoff contention.

I was just saying how there were certain columnists and such talking about how even if Clemens came back to Houston, they had no shot at the postseason, and, therefore, he should go to Boston of New York. I'm sure he's glad that he picked Houston for more than monetary reasons.

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 Well considering that seemingly every New England journalist was doing everything short of sacrificing virgins and small animals to pagan gods in order to get Clemens onto the Sox roster before the trading deadline I'd say MiB has a point.
