naiwf Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I knew Pujols would do that. I just didn't want to proclaim him the MVP after he did it.
jwest27 Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 The Cards are truly a one-man team. I am liking how the Busch faithful are sounding more like Cubs fans these days. Well, being on the verge of a historical collapse will do that to you.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Tonight the Phillies introduce closer-by-committee. It's a bold step where you use a different closer every inning.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 And for the record, I haven't budged off Pujols for MVP and I'm not doing it now.
Guest Felonies! Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Hey, Jwest. Go in General Chat. I made fun of you.
jwest27 Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Ok bullpen, please please don't blow this.
Guest Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I'm hoping beyond hope that the Dodgers, Cards and Nats win. Then LA would be 2 ahead of Philly, and one behind the Padres. If we win the division, we get the Phillies with home field! Â Yes, I'm hoping the Padres fall apart.
naiwf Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 That Phillies fan is almost as big of a douche about his team as viva is. Almost.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I can't take this anymore. I have work early tomorrow.
jwest27 Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 The Cardinals have won a baseball game~! Â WOO PARTY
naiwf Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 The Cardinals have won a baseball game~! WOO PARTY  Congrats. Now make it a habit and keep the Evil Empire South out of the postseason.
jwest27 Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Ok, so now the Pirates/Astros game needs to go 27 innings, culminating in an Astros loss.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 The Cardinals have won a baseball game~! Â WOO PARTY Â Congrats. Now make it a habit and keep the Evil Empire South out of the postseason. Â Atlanta's already been knocked out.
sfaJack Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I loved how Phil Garner let Dan Wheeler, his best reliever, throw 46 pitches tonight. I'm all in favor of keeping your best pitchers in the game as long as possible, but 46 pitches for a guy who's now thrown 4 of the past 5 nights seems a bit much. Better hope they don't need him tomorrow.
vivalaultra Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 That Phillies fan is almost as big of a douche about his team as viva is. Almost. Â Yeah, and you're just a douche in general.

Of course given the Punch and Judy lineup the Astros have out there right now I have no idea how they're going to score.
Guest Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 The Phillies will not gain ground tonight.

At least he resisted the temptation to bring Oswalt back on short rest tonight and then again on Sunday as he was apparently thinking about doing.
naiwf Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Jeff Conine is doing his best Cliff Floyd impression 0 for 7, 2K, 8 LOB
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I fell asleep at 8 and just turned on the Phillies game. From Al's last 5 or so posts I should consider myself lucky, I suppose. So far we got a double and a bunt single. Â The Nats Stadium is basically empty except for the Phillies crowd, which have turned it into a Phils home game.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Chris Coste with a little league slide and only out by 5,000 miles. Â Edit: ROLLINS with a 2 run triple. That'll end this.

Yeah but I'm afraid Garner's going to throw Wandy out there to give his starters an extra day off somewhere down the stretch. The offense can't score 7 runs EVERY night.
naiwf Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 At least the Pirates and Nats gave 100% effort tonight.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Frank's gotta use a pitcher as a pinch-hitter since he managed his bench so well tonight.
vivalaultra Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I'm really liking Chris Sampson for the rotation next year. After going through the much hyped Ezequial Astacio, Taylor Buchholz, and Jason Hirsh (who hasn't been bad at all, really), I think Sampson's going to be better than any of them. Looks like the 'Stros will remain 1.5 games back with the Cards going to Miller to face Davis (they suck against lefties), Sheets, Capuano, and...do they face Dave Bush or Ohka? I hope Bush.
Guest Paul Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Yankees take a 1 game lead in the race for homfield advantage.
naiwf Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 If the Phillies lose this one, that kid may spontaneously combust. Â Â THIS IS AWESOME! *clap clap clap clap clap*
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Fabio Castro impressing with 3 straight hits allowed.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 Edit: ROLLINS with a 2 run triple. That'll end this.
