Isiah Thomas had a bagel for breakfast. I hear Greg Anthony doesn't even eat breakfast.

Zeke seems to be missing the point of a lot of the bitching...

People hadn't paid much attention to Balkman because he was expected to drop into the 2nd round at the least, if not go undrafted.

It's a pretty safe bet he'd have still been on the board 9 picks later, when the Knicks picked up Mardy Collins instead.

If they'd picked up Marcus Williams at 20 and then Balkman at 29, there would have been a lot less criticism because Williams was considered a steal for the Nets at 22.

Isiah's doing alright so far in preseason; and he's probably right about Anthony not even watching Balkman play a single game. If I remember correctly, Anthony used the same comparisons for every player drafted that nbadraft.net uses.

EDIT: I remember Ripper mentioning something about Phoenix about to take Balkman (they were the next pick). They traded the pick after Balkman was selected.

Seriously...fuck greg anthony. I am still pissed about when he went on this rant about how Bob Sura should be disgraced for missing a shot on purpose to get his third straight triple double like 4 years ago when he was with the Hawks.

The same Greg Anthony that ran on the court in street clothes and sucker punched Kevin Johnson in 93.

Ripper- Can hold a grudge.

And the PER stat is quite useless anyway. Thats why no one understands it because in the long run, it doesn't mean a damn thing.

Al Jefferson is ranked nearly a hundred spots above Ron Artest. Thats how useless it is. Jackie fucking Butler is ranked above Dwight Howard.

I don't know why, but this may be the funniest post I've read in months. Thank you, Felonies! It would almost be sig-worthy, you know, if I did that sort of thing.

Clippers win 91-90. Farmar made a nice move to the basket right at the end, but coughed up the ball.

The referees were awful, they're really cracking down on techs for arguing calls. Because God knows that's what we need to make for more exciting gameplay, is more restrictive officiating.

It's because David Stern hates black people, as Jews are prone to do.

What? Someone in the NBA was gonna say it eventually.

From Deadspin:

For Some Guys, Lithuania Is The Promised Land

In the NBA, Tyrone Nesby is probably best known for being the crazy guy on Michael Jordan-led Washington Wizards team that was terrible, dysfunctional, and sad. His career, though, took him on a journey to Lithuania... and one small change of scenery was all Tyrone Nesby, roleplayer, needed to become T-Nes, balla extraordinaire.

JE Skeets at The Basketball Jones stumbled onto the T-Nes experience, and then passed the information along to Wizznutzz, and when Skeets and Wizznutzz collaborate... it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good. From Wizznutzz:

Now if you check from T-Než's website, you see him relaxing in the Dnepr-Bug drainage basin aka Darius Songalia Memorial BLVD like he owns the damn place! and thats cuz he just about does because since T-Než has backing of powerful Lithuanian Mafia Seimos Lygino Asilas aka The Family of The Iron DOnkey and he is now like Vilinius' Most Notorious, and he rolls through town with 24" spinners on his Yugo, kicks it in his delux 300 sqft, 7 bedroom loft with its vaulted 6' ceilings and tru cement floors, hes wearing top luxury goat skin trenchcoats with London Fog labels sewn inside, and he wont think not 2 seconds about dropping 4, even 5 euros, on VIP tab for fermented milk bottle service.

You can find T-Nes's website (available in English and Lithuanian) here, where you can listen to his hip-hop stylings. And if you think T-Nes isn't doing well with the Lithuanian ladies, then have a listen to "Music T-nes (If you dont know Englisch)," and then see what you think, mister.

Either the competition in basketball and rap isn't as fierce in Lithuania as it is in the United States, or Tyrone Nesby has really stepped up his game.

I remember watching PTI a couple of weeks ago, and one of the topics on Over/Under was whether Rasheed Wallace would be over some absurd number of Ts this season thanks to the crackdown on whining. Both guys said he'd be way over...I think Kornheiser said he'd be around a hundred.

Williams, the No. 2 overall pick in last year's NBA draft, broke a bone in his left hand during practice Thursday and will be out up to eight weeks. The Hawks open the regular season Wednesday at Philadelphia.

Coach Mike Woodson said the injury occurred as Williams swiped at the ball during a routine drill, just as he was getting ready for his first season as a starter.

"It's one of those freak accidents," the coach said. "I feel for the player. Marvin put in a lot of time to get in this position. It's definitely a setback."

This is an endorsement deal

East Valley Tribune - Raja Bell signed an endorsement deal with Taco Bell over the off-season and one of the perks is free burritos, tacos and chalupas from the national chain for life of the contract.

“I haven’t used it yet. They asked me to give them three to four days to get the word out,” Bell said. “I don’t even know what I’m going to get. I think I’ll just order one of everything and see what happens. They told me I could take the whole team, there’s no limit.”

Bell once worked at a Taco Bell, but that was many years before he began making $4.75 million in a season.

Raja Bell? I've got bigger chalupas to fry than Raja Bell.

Robert Swift of the Sonics is out for the season with a torn ACL. Saw the article on Yahoo.

Yeah, I was kinda disappointed. My friend and I always had this cult following of Swift, because despite being 7'0" all the cards and stuff of him from his rookie year, he just really looked like a giant 7th grader. Right down to the acne. We seriously went to games when the Sonics came to town with signs and stuff before he even started to play and even talked to Jack Sikma before a game about him. He finally starts to get comfortable, shows some signs of life and even gets named the starter... next game, out for the season.

LLGC was kind of right. Although, this can be the new ugly-off against reigning TSM champion Sam Cassell.

God DAMMIT.

Sighs....seriously, without him playing at the start of the season and putting up 16 and 9 like I am predicting, I am going to have to hear about "Hawks should have taken Chris Paul" for another few weeks.
