Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Damn. And if Bartlett didn't mess up, Santana may well still be in the game. Boo.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 I'm glad I kept Frank Thomas.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Twins fans cheering the ball being thrown back is just bush league. You're losing the series right now fools. With Boof going in game 2, and the Twins phobia of taking pitches Johan might not get another start.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Here's wonderful strategy. You're down two and you can't afford to give up another run. So you give the ball to the guy you called up from AAA.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 It works though. In fairness, Neshek is no slouch.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 They should've kept Johan in to begin with. He only threw 92 pitches.

naiwf 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Johan had thrown 107 pitches in this game. Zito was the one with 92.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Oh, nevermind then. I would've put in Nathan. And oh shit, Bradley just messed up big.

naiwf 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 NEWSFLASH: Hitting is difficult. True, but you don't have to swing at the first pitch every time. Zito was not pitching well and yet the Twins would not make him work. He threw 52 strikes and 40 balls, but most of the strikes were by the Twins being overly aggressive and popping out on the 1st or 2nd pitch of the at bat. Don't get me wrong, Minnesota didn't deserve to win this game, but some patience and a timely bunt would have given them the chance.
Guest Paul Report post Posted October 3, 2006 They were WAY too anxious with their bats.

I'm just pointing out that you can't judge Mauer and Morneau as clutch hitters based on one game.
