NFL Week 7

Manning is right behind Favre in consecutive starts, correct? Well, not right behind, because Favre has a huge lead, but Peyton is in 2nd?

I know that he's 2nd for active streaks but I'm not sure if he passed the all-time 2nd place but he will, if he hasn't already. This is for QB's only, as I believe other position players have gone longer then Manning and I believe Favre.

The record of most consecutive games played by a non-kicker/punter (really, they shouldn't count, when the fuck do they ever get contact outside of the occasional roughing the kicker penalty?) is defensive lineman Jim "Wrong Way" Marshall, who was part of the Purple People Eaters for the 70's Vikings. He played in 282 consecutive games over 19 seasons (this was when NFL seasons were shorter, though). Today's game marked Favre's 227th consecutive start, only two behind legendary Buffalo Bills tackle Bruce Matthews, 13 behind 70's Viking offensive lineman Mick Tinglehoff, and 43 behind Jim Marshall. To match Marshall, Favre would have to play through all of this year and the next two seasons consecutively, not including playoffs (but why bother with this bunch and the competition in the NFC..?)

I think you should leave the Bronx.

Even though this is Italy?

If you leave the Bronx, I'll give you Fudgicles

I have to rely on the radio for my Vikings fix, as fulfilling AwShucks weekly TV time is apparently more important here.

You mean Houston Oilers/Tennessee Oilers/Tennessee Titans.

They really like to talk about Steve Hutchinson a lot. Even when he's not playing his former team. "Good thing they got Steve Hutchinson!" "The key to the Vikings making the playoffs is Steve Hutchinson!" "The Seahawks would've beaten the Bears if they still had Steve Hutchinson."

Yeah, but it's for two reasons. One, the Vikings don't have any real notable "star" players on their team anymore since the departure of Culpepper and Moss. And two, he's the best young guard out in free agency. Green Bay would've been so lucky as to have him, he would have made a huge difference in Green Bay, and possibly the draft as well since they would've locked up a starting guard spot.

These Jon Lovitz Subway ads make me uncomfortable. He's always yelling and it's really loud and abrasive, and discourages me from eating. I wish this ad campaign would end.

:(

Agreed. They couldn't get Daniel Stern or Dana Carvey instead?

Oops yeah, I thought of Bruce Smith for some reason there.

How is it that Plummer manages to walk into bad teams and plays decently enough (2 INTS for him doesn't seem like a bad game, to me) to keep his job for at least another week?

Why don't they just go ahead and cut him, so they can start the Cutler era and Plummer can go to Dallas like we all know he will this off-season anyways.

The Raiders are going to beat the Cardinals. The Raiders are who we thought they were.

I know, but you don't want it to be the Raiders. It ruins their legacy. Let it be some shitty club like the Lions or something.

This isn't the first time they've taken a lead to the fourth this year. But my hopes are officially up.

Even though they're a division rival, I have a soft spot for the Lions and wouldn't want to see that happen to them.

Let it happen to the Cardinals, it's beyond fitting.

Did Childress just grab his crotch on camera?

Yeah you're right, let it be the Cardinals. I wish their stadium got the "jobing.com" name and not the Coyotes.

Don't be stupid. There's already a QB controversy in Dallas with Romo. Adding Plummer to the mix makes ZERO sense.

Chris, win or not, you have got to be concerned about the lack of productivity on offense, aren't you?

Yes, I am, especially with potentially high-powered offences coming up in Indy, Cincy and San Diego (twice). I think it's too much to ask for the defence to hold those teams to 10 points or less. Hopefully, Denver is just doing enough to win right now, given they're playing really bad teams, and they can throw a few big plays in the next few weeks. That's a pretty dangerous game to play.

Or, maybe the defence CAN hold anyone they want under 10 points, who knows. But yes, I'm a bit worried right now.
