CanadianChris Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 I just wanted to share what information i know. Any idea on why the Habs game hasn't started yet? They retired Serge Savard's number before the game.
the max Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Bruins win their fourth in a row, the first time that's happened since March of 2004(!), 3-2 in OOOOOOOvertime. Thomas played well again. He was burned by Klepis on the first goal but lost the edge of his skate on the second on a laser from Ovechkin. That was unfortunate as the Bruins had :01 remaining on a 5-on-3 that they killed off. All-around, a great night for the defense especially Brad Stuart who had probably his best game as a Bruin since coming over in The Trade That Must Not Be Named. Bruins goals from Axelsson, Chara and the game winner from Murray in OT. Next game is monday against the Panthers, which I expect the Bruins to be up and ready for, since they weren't up and ready for them in the season-opener and were soundly embarrassed by a team starting Alex Auld in net.
CanadianChris Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Awesome win against the Sabres tonight. Emery kept them from getting blown out early when it seemed the first 10 minutes were played entirely in the Sens' end. And the power play came back to life tonight. Now, if they can do the same thing against the Wild Monday, maybe they'll have turned the corner. They need to put together a nice win streak pretty soon, though -- they've only had one winning streak all year.
Red Baron Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Posted November 19, 2006 Thanks for the info Chris. A win is a win, but 40 shots on net. Thats too many.
Guest Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Props to Alexander Frolov for his huge week. 3 straight 2 goal games, and 15 points over his last 9 games. Somebody has turned the corner.
Red Baron Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Posted November 19, 2006 Hit of the night belongs to Cam Janssen leveling Darcy Tucker. And nice little play by Tucker, holding Janssen until his teammates gang up on him.
fairtoflair7 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Isles are hot...Rick is playing very well and Dunham played unbelievable last night. #1 star of the night on NHL.com. Nolan has got this team on the right track.
Star Ocean 3 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Anyone who can should watch Ducks vs. Sharks on Tuesday. It will be for the top team in the Bestern Conference (oops I mean Western haha)
CanadianChris Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Anyone who can should watch Ducks vs. Sharks on Tuesday. It will be for the top team in the Bestern Conference (oops I mean Western haha) Ohhhhhhhhhh, I see what you did there. Really cute.
Star Ocean 3 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 now go back to talking about your Least...I mean Eastern Conference
the max Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 But the East has more teams above .500...
CanadianChris Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Yeah, I don't know how you can brag about the West when the Central Division is there. Worst division in hockey.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Why is there an argument brewing over which conference is better? Just seems like a little silly to me.
the max Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 It's not really an argument, just Star Ocean doing one of those "Nobody talks about ________"...and then doesn't talk about it.
the max Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 is that a request? If you're complaining that nobody is talking about the West (like you did a few pages back), normally you would try to jump-start the conversation about it. But you really haven't. Go ahead and talk up the West. Like I said, I only watch Canucks games since my gal is a huge fan of theirs, but other than that, I don't watch any West games.
Red Baron Posted November 20, 2006 Author Report Posted November 20, 2006 Its hard to talk about West games, as only King and Taker are the only ones here that talk about the Western Conference. I mean even with Evanderfield, Corpse, and Stahl who don't post here anymore really had a nice discussion about the Western conference.

If you're complaining that nobody is talking about the West (like you did a few pages back), normally you would try to jump-start the conversation about it. But you really haven't. that's not true. this just shows that they're ignored. i just posted about the big ducks and sharks game and the only part of that post you people reply to is the hilarious joke i made. i know my humor can overshadow something like hockey, but still.

CanadianChris Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Jagr got his 600th career goal tonight in a win over the Lightning.
Red Baron Posted November 20, 2006 Author Report Posted November 20, 2006 With the rate he's going, and he's not slowing down, he might be able to hit 800 goals in his career unless he decides to hang them up or a serious injury. 700 seems so Automatic.
Guest Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Its hard to talk about West games, as only King and Taker are the only ones here that talk about the Western Conference. I agree with this. The West is much better, but so many of the games start after 9 EST and many of the teams aren't in traditional hockey markets. The Pacific is the best division in the sport, but nobody out here cares until the playoffs. The East is more wide-open and has better forward talent, but that's it.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 With the rate he's going, and he's not slowing down, he might be able to hit 800 goals in his career unless he decides to hang them up or a serious injury. 700 seems so Automatic. 700 yes. I just don't see 800, though. Don't ask me why...
CanadianChris Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I think 800 is wildly optimistic. He only scored 54 last season, and that's just going to go down as he gets older. He turns 35 this season, after all.

Star Ocean 3 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 biggest game yet of the season's tomorrow.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Goals aplenty tonight. 7-2 Buffalo, 5-2 Pens, 4-1 Sens. Outside of Nashville/Columbus, every game has at seen at least five netted. And to think, I was a little worried when I picked Buffalo to win by two tonight.
CanadianGuitarist Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 biggest game yet of the season's tomorrow. I think I'm more excited over Calgary-Edmonton, though not by much.
