CanadianChris Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 I'm surprised they didn't just blow off the poll and go with Dusty for that match. It's not like they've got a representative from the accounting firm of Ernst and Young backstage checking results.
strummer Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Why are people shocked Dusty didn't win, the core WWE audience is *much* more familiar with Piper
Hasbeen1 Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Wouldn't mind seeing a Piper and Flair heel team for a couple of months.

CanadianChris Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Why are people shocked Dusty didn't win, the core WWE audience is *much* more familiar with Piper I was expecting Piper to win, but from all accounts, he clearly didn't belong in a wrestling ring tonight.

Dusty is? Physically speaking, only Slaughter is in shape.
Just John Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Piper hasn't belonged in a wrestling ring for almost a decade. This show sounded like a big pile of predictable garbage.
Downhome Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Dusty would have looked more like he belonged in the ring tonight than Piper did.
razazteca Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 I feel sorry for the people that paid $40 for this PPV.
spman Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Holy cow this one was awful. Normally we hit up Hooters and catch the show for free, but tonight they wouldn't even show it, and opted for the Patriots game instead. So we all had to chip in 5 bucks and pile into my friends house to watch this show, and man was it bad. This was easily one of the worst they've done since Great American Bash 2004. If Lita vs Mickey James tonight didn't single handed kill the entire womens division, then nothing will. and did anyone else notice that Big Show was out for about 95% of the match in the Main Event? Is he really hurting that bad? I know last weeks Observer said that he was in really rough shape was was strongly considering hanging up the tights next year, but at least he seemed to be somewhat active prior to tonight. Maybe I just having been paying attention.
cabbageboy Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 This show did sound pretty tedious from the results. I ended up watching Friday the 13th 1 and 2. I can't see the Piper/Flair reign lasting too long. Do they not realize putting belts on guys that old simply exposes the business? I'm glad they got them off the Spirit Squad, but to put it on 2 old men? I'm guessing Edge/Orton win them soon on Raw. I am glad Booker retained and was the champion of champions. The K-Fed run in sounds amusing.

I find it very amusing that Piper and Flair's combined age is almost as old as the combined age of ALL FIVE Spirt Squad guys.
RedJed Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Jesus christ, Piper is in horrible shape. Rhodes is probably in better overall condition than him. The results here just sound so standard and dull. Was there even a match over *** on the show?
Downhome Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 It looked a lot worse while actually watching the video of it. It was so bad that JR and Lawler actually talked about it quite a bit.
Guest Princess Leena Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Seriously, put a shirt on Piper. And Flair, but apparently that's a lost cause. Hey, Britney's fuck toy as the main player on a PPV. I thought TNA had Russo.
Insanity Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 I wish Flair's match was rigged, just so I could see Rhodes wrestle. Fuck Piper.
Mike wanna be Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Piper hasn't ever been in great shape; he just covered it with a shirt and kilt. Bad decision to go out dressed like Flair.
Just John Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Good lord. Piper makes Flair look like a Greek God. The fact that Piper could beat any of the Spirit Squad members is really testing the limits of kayfabe. At least throw a shirt on the guy for fuck's sake.
Scroby Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Is it me or does the Arena look really small there?
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 At this year's Cyber Sunday, legends were made, champions were crowned and WWE fans cast 14,687,233 votes for the in-ring action they wanted to see. The WWE fan reaction to Cyber Sunday more than doubled the six million votes cast for last year's Taboo Tuesday. The unprecedented response from WWE fans brought in an average of 6,000 votes a minute while the show was on the air.
Enigma Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Lita vs. Mickie James was a 9 on the Jackie Gayda meter. If you don't think Lita is counting the days to freedom and phoning it in now, watch this match. And you don't think WWE.Com touched this picture up a bit, do you? But yes, Piper (52) makes Flair (57) look like an Adonis by comparison.
muzz Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Looks more like they just cut and pasted their heads on two completely different people.
Lil' Bitch Posted November 6, 2006 Author Report Posted November 6, 2006 Easily the worst show of the year although I'm glad the tag titles finally changed hands (Just wish Piper didn't look eight months pregnant) and Booker T made history by becoming the Champion of Champions. This is definitely one of the best years of his career.
Dobbs 3K Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Getting the tag belts off the Spirit Squad is a good thing...hopefully now they start breaking up the group for good, so at least Ken Doane can get a singles push that they've been hinting at. I wouldn't be surprised if Flair and Piper drop the belts tonight...dunno to who though. I'm surprised Booker's belt was on the line...I thought the WWE Championship would win for sure, since the fans have been conditioned to think of it as the top championship of the three titles. Funny to see K-Fed in those pics at the end, too.
Wrestlefreak Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 This was an utterly crap PPV. The only good point was King Booker's win. King Booker rules!! I REALLY hope WWE job Flair and Piper to Cryme Tyme tonight on Raw. I can't stand the dea of ANY more Piper matches. Piper is a total embarrassment. This PPV sucked!

Funny to see K-Fed in those pics at the end, too. I see either Orton/Edge taking the titles so the DX/Orton+Edge thing means something or they'll put it on Murdoch/Cade so they can transition it to Cryme Tyme. I think the fans went with the "I want the annoying heel to lose to Cena" thinking instead, even if they were basically demanding it'd be a WWE Title match. I just wish these fans that actually bother to vote would vote on something that'd screw up their plans. Like, do you think they would have reconsidered changing the tag titles had Slaughter won? Although, Slaughter can still go, I don't see WWE thinking he's that major compared to Piper.

I think that Edge/Orton will beat Flair/Piper, then they have Edge/Orton defend against Cryme Tyme and DX causes them to drop the titles.
