tominator89 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2006 I miss how in those days, kids in the crowd would be traumatized by certain events/gimmicks (snake bite, Undertaker, Papa Shango, ect). Ahh, the good old days. Like when Earthquake killed Jake's snake.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2006 Ah yes, that one brought the tears out of the ringsiders. Another example would be the Rockers' split on the Barber Shop. Those poor, worried kids.
Guest Guerrero81 Report post Posted December 2, 2006 Ah yes, that one brought the tears out of the ringsiders. Another example would be the Rockers' split on the Barber Shop. Those poor, worried kids. If people didn't get worked up over that one, than they just may as well be dead emotionally inside. That was one of the best breakups in wrestling I've ever seen. I've had people mention this to me who haven't even watched wrestling in ten years how this is one of the things they remember the most from their time spent watching wrestling. One person even quit watching after that.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2006 At the time, I had a fear of blood, so I was preoccupied trying not to notice the blood trickle down Jannetty's head, but yeah, it was definitely well executed.

Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2006 I thought the whole "Vince buys WCW and runs a horrible 'invasion' story" angle was real
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 I thought Test and Stephanie were really in love. It was among the first major storylines I saw most of.
RepoMan 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 Austin dropping HHH from a forklift at Survivor Series 2000. A no sell only surpassed by Paul Wight getting thrown off of the arena only to appear later in the show.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2006 At least the Giant falling off the arena could've been somewhat explainable, even though they didn't bother to. They could've just said "Well, he survived by falling in a dumpster" or something, even if it would've been ridiculous, but this was after a monster truck battle on top of an arena...so I don't think they were exactly looking for further credibility at that point. Triple H in that car on the other hand...there was no way you could watch that and then see him come out completely healthy, and think it was nothing more than a stunt job. People just don't survive stuff like that completely unscathed.

that1870sguy 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2006 Triple H was holding down the forklift. To Vince's credit, though, they did a better job of being realistic when Hogan was laying the smackdown on The Rock's cripple ass NWO style with the ambulance and the semi. When Rock returned 2 weeks later, he had a bandage on his ribs.
Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2006 -When I first thought of this topic...I immediately reflected back to 1994/5 on Raw when Owen and Shawn Michaels were in the Main Event and Owen hit Shawn with the Enziguri and then Shawn collapsed...I was like 8/9 years old damn near in tears when this happened...I only found out last year that this was a work...Damn good job... -The second one I think some of you should remember...I say..mabye 93/4 on Raw the smoking gunns had just lost at a PPV the night before and they were at odds with one another and they Main Evented Raw..Well If my memory is correct, Bart Gunn hit Billy Gunn with the stun gun and he laid there motionless which was later confirmed to be a "broken neck"..I mean his wife and everything came in the ring..I was damn near in tears again...OVER BILLY GUNN...Now that I'm a little more schooled I assume this was a work... -The third is just unbelievable now...I remember watching Superstars on a Saturday afternoon back in 92 I think...Papa Shango had the Ultimate Warrior throwing up green shit...That shit seriously scared me to the point where I didnt watch the WWF for like 3/4 months...I always watched a little WCW and mostly WWF but Boy for about 3 months 6:05 on Saturday Nights was where it was at for me... I was a kid back then and I grew up watching the stuff But I look back and can't believe how into it I really was..I was a Member of the WWF Fan club and everything...Boy I'm glad I grew out of that..Anywayz..What are some the works that had you fooled..They can be from Your Mark Days to the present time(not many I can think of from recently though) OH SHIT!!!!!!!! I remember watching that at my grandma's house in the kitchen when i was little. I TOTALLY bought that shit.
Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2006 I started watching in November 98 (my first match was DDP/Goldberg on Nitro the night after HH 98, when the show ran too long) so excuse my markism...then proceed to laugh. - British Bulldog giving Stephanie McMahon amnesia - Triple H being bit by the snake - I really thought Stone Cold owned the WWF - Scott Steiner retirement - Ric Flair heart attack - I really thought Ric Flair was taking over WCW when he beat Bischoff on Nitro and everybody interfered. I went and played Nitro on PSX after Nitro went off that night - I thought Stone Cold killed Taker when he hit him with that shovel on RAW...and then when he dropped Paul Bearer in the sewer.... - I always wondered why people kept trying to take Kane away - When The Corporation beat HBK's ass and put his face thru that windshield...consider me in awe - I thought Big Show was really pulling down the Titantron *Tries to hold back laugh..... can't.... hold.... it..... back....* BUWHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHA Man. At least you'll openly admit it that you bought that.
