The latest on it is that they appealed and wont have to make the changes within 30 days. But like the article stated, it would take a long time and a lot of money to not only change the currency but also to retrofit/fix every piece of equipment to accept the new sized currency. And I dont know I feel about this, since Im going to eventually be blind like my mother is. She uses a check card for almost everything just like I do. I dont think the cost is worth it, there would have to be some other way thats cheaper to help out the blind identify money..

I am all for helping the blind, but having to completely work work the currency of a nation this size is just not worth it.

Just implement braille on the currency.

There's a story around my home town that the guy that operates the snack bar at the court house, a blind man, can feel the currency and identify it.

I never tested it.

They certainly can.

My grandfather has been blind since he was eighteen, and he's now sixty. He's worked at the St. Catharines General Hospital for over 40 years now, the last ten of that running the general store. He's had very very few dishonest customers ( I can only remember one), and a computerized machine to feel the weight of change and announce what it is...that he doesn't need to use very often. There's an exceptionally big difference between blind and stupid. What's so hard about braille?

Just make every bill a little different size from one another. It's really not a big deal. I've accidently tipped more than I wanted to when I was shit faced so this might even help the drunks out there.

Slightly raise the denomonation on the bill.

How many blind people are there though?? A million?? Really seems like a waste to change things for less than one percent of the population.

Which is why it will probably happen...only it will cost like a billion dollars or something.

Eh. Blind people have dealt with the money issue for hundreds of years now, why change the system? I understand it'll make it easier for them, but they are a small minority, and most people don't like change.

Also, how often do you use paper money anymore on a day to day basis? Most places take credit or debit cards, etc. This change might've been useful twenty or thirty years ago, but not today.

ya dood

Make more homes for the homeless. Thereby eliminating the useless shit we have in this country. And believe me we have ALOT of useless shit in this country. Golf courses have enough land for alot of homes. I would also eliminate Wallstreet cuz Captialism would be dead. Everything is at a reasonable price like DVD's cost $20.00 and computers $10.00. Everyone would get food as I would send food mobiles to give food to people sort of like the milkman but the food man. Everyone owns everything so that means Joe Smloe with the glass eye and beer belly could own part of the New York Yankees or Trump Plaza. No inflation due to low prices for everything. Believe me, more people will buy if it is at a reasonable price. AND STAY OUT OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS! A military yes. But only to defend us[/N]. No special missions or shit. Socialism will take over.

Yeah. That's how I would make America better.
