snuffbox Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 After today's game I want KC/Larry Johnson to make the 'offs.
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Sooooo. 9-7 Dallas @ 9-7 Seattle 8-8 New York @ 9/10-win Philadelphia High seed plays 10-6 New Orleans, low seed 13/14-win Chicago. If the Bears fuck this up, I don't know what I'm gonna do. In the third quarter of the NFC Championship game at Chicago, a fan will intercept Rex Grossman's pass which will lead to Joe Buck replaying you know what, but for a good reason this time. Oh, man. I feel better about betting on Joe Buck calling for the Bartman clip than picking a winner.
MFer Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 For all the hype about all these teams being alive for playoffs, this weekend sure has been anti-climatic.
Slayer Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Vikings lose and the Packers are out. That's a pyrrhic victory if ever I've seen one And I can't believe KC has a shot at the ultimate back-in to the playoffs
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 The NFL is nothing but hype.
Matt Young Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Antonio Gates gets his 9th TD and the Chargers lead.
2GOLD Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 I am really, really proud of the Jets' performance today and just their season in general. My expectations for this season have already been completely exceeded, so any wins from here on out are gravy. I don't know what would need to happen for the the Jets to get the Patriots in the first round, but that's exactly what I'm pulling for. Pretty sure you just need the Colts and Broncos to lose. That would make the Pats the three and the Colts the four, with the Jets already locking up that five slot I believe. I'm not positive you even need the Broncos to lose, it might just take a Colts loss. No wait..dammit, you need the Colts to win and the Broncos to lose cause you said you want the Jets to get the Patriots. I hate playoffs math.

You mentioned the 4/5 possibility, but I think you'd get the same outcome (albeit as a 3/6 game) if Indy loses and the Broncos win.
Guest Princess Leena Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 So, do the Patriots have the 3rd or 4th seed? I haven't been following at all. I definitely do not want NE @ SD in the Quarterfinal round. SD is the only team I give a damn about.
naiwf Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 So, do the Patriots have the 3rd or 4th seed? I haven't been following at all. I definitely do not want NE @ SD in the Quarterfinal round. SD is the only team I give a damn about. If Indy wins they're the 3 and NE is the 4. If Indy loses, flip them. EDIT: I just checked the NFL site and if Baltimore, Indy & NE all end up 12-4, the seeding would be: SD, IND, BAL, NE Indy can be the 2 seed with a win and a Ravens loss. The Pats are definitely locked in to either the 3 or 4.
2GOLD Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 The Patriots are behind the Colts and the Ravens no matter what. I don't know who would get the bye between the Colts and the Ravens but I'm pretty sure it would go to the Colts. Which would make it 1. San Diego 2. Colts 3. Ravens 4. Patriots Best the Patriots can do is move up into the 3 spot...I think.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Ravens are up a whopping 6-0, but its a shutout so I wont complain. I really want the Chargers to lose but that wont likely happen. Did the Lions winning screw them out out of the first pick in the draft or did Oakland have that locked up?
naiwf Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Peyton going headfirst to the goal line doesn't seem like a bright idea.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 LOL Jake Plummer is back in for the Broncos lol
Guest "Go, Mordecai!" Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Did the Lions winning screw them out out of the first pick in the draft or did Oakland have that locked up? Yep, they blew the #1 spot to Oakland by winning. Only the Lions.
Slayer Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Maybe they were hoping the Raiders would do something dumb like spend their #1 draft pick on a slightly above-average defensive end from a below-average college program
naiwf Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 I think it was Phil Simms who jokingly said Detroit would be happy with the #2 because they could pay that player less money than if they'd had the # 1.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 9-0 Ravens now. No TDs today it looks like.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Rivers and LT are both limping. Not a good sign.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 What did Lawrence Taylor do this time?
CanadianChris Posted December 31, 2006 Author Report Posted December 31, 2006 I can't believe they put Cutler back in. A concussed Cutler < Plummer.
Hawk 34 Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Cutler showing what he learned from watching Plummer. SF winning this will please and sadden me simultaneously.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Rivers and LT are both limping. Not a good sign. Probably nothing a bye week wont fix. McCallister took back a INT for a TD and almost had another INT right there.
CanadianChris Posted December 31, 2006 Author Report Posted December 31, 2006 That was the worst call of all time. There's no way the play was still live when Harris grabbed the ball.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Rolle picks off Losman in the End Zone (After he had just made a 50 yard pass to the 5) and the Game..is..OVER! Ravens win 19-7. Hmm..thats almost a 2 TD win like I said...

MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 SD won..DARN #2 seed and a Bye works for me.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Why the hell dont they go to the Denver game when its of more importance to the playoffs than this Colts game?
Bored Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 In what universe was that an incomplete pass? Two bizarre replays in a row.
