Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Maybe Zubrus to Ducks. Bertuzzi to Wings. Eklund's had that one all along, so maybe he knows something.
treble Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Having Eklund on Sportsnet is stupid. He's up hidden, like the banker on Deal or No Deal, there's no reason if they wanted him that he couldn't have done this on the phone or something. The Sportsnet coverage as a whole, is annoying. Stupid music playing in the background, seems like they wanted to make it seem like a sports bar.
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Pascal Dupuis to Thrash Yanic however the fuck you spell his last name to Leafs.
treble Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Right after Darren Pang said Yanic Perrault wasn't going anywhere, Daren Dreger says the Leafs are close to trading for him. Brenden Bell and a 2nd round pick.
Der Kommissar Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Is this the same Eklund who was considered a running joke during the Lockout? If it is, then how the heck did he manage to go from anonymous idiot blogger to being on Sportsnet in this trade deadline special? EDIT: It's nice to see a sports league have a trade deadline where people are actually making trades. It's a huge improvement over the dud that was the NBA Trade Deadline.
treble Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I really like Perreault, maybe the price was too high, but Bell didn't have a place to play.
Guest Queen Leelee Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Zubrus + Prospect (Probably young defensemen) for Novotny + 1st round pick. Meh... not crazy about this. Seems like a lot for an average scorer that hasn't lived up to his potential.
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Norstrom gone, Scott Parker to Avs. Let's say that I nearly shit when I heard Norstrom's gone. Maybe not to Pitt as that part's just speculation, but he's gone for sure.
CanadianGuitarist Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Zubrus + Prospect (Probably young defensemen) for Novotny + 1st round pick. Meh... not crazy about this. Seems like a lot for an average scorer that hasn't lived up to his potential. I agree, and I certainly would be more than unimpressed if I were a Sabres fan. Zubrus did show flashes of brilliance at times with the Habs, but he's a 15-20 goal man at best today.
the max Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I like Aaron Ward. He's basically the same player as Mara, except he makes slightly less and can be counted on more on the defensive end.
Failed Bridge Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I'm shocked Glen Murray wasn't traded. Supposedly they had a deal in place with San Jose...I wonder if the Sharks walked away when they found they could get Guerin or what happened.
the max Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Murray got injured at the worst time possible and was placed on injured reserve because of his groin. Any injury serious enough to be on IR is a red flag to a team looking to acquire that player for their young players.
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Norstrom to Dallas. SMYTH TO ISLES The Norstrom deal hurts. I could take him being dealt anywhere but Dallas and Anaheim, but that shit fucking stings. Blake's probably the new C.
treble Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Whoa, Smyth getting traded is weird. 1st round pick and 2 players.
CanadianGuitarist Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I'm legitimately sick to my stomach over the Smyth trade. My favourite player after Iginla to Long Island? That's weird.
Vigo Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I'm legitimately sick to my stomach over the Smyth trade. My favourite player after Iginla to Long Island? That's weird. I wouldn't be surprised if Smyth comes back to the Oilers in the summer. The Islanders sure gave up a lot for what essentially could be a rental player.
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Modry's gone from Dallas. Don't know where. We got a 1st in 08, prospect and late pick for Norstrom. Our 08 draft looks like this. 2 1sts, possibly 3 2nds, 2 3rds, and 4 4ths.
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Dennis Wideman for Boyes. Boston did something right here. Wideman is the shit. Gelinas and David Hale to Calgary. This has been an awesome deadline.
the max Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Chiarelli must have something else planned, because Boyes was starting to come out of his funk this season. I don't like giving up on Boyes this quickly. Wideman is a good player, but tsn bills him as a powerplay specialist, which Lewis doesn't use. He puts Bergeron or Kessel at the point on the powerplay. Chiarelli made two good moves, but I wonder how he replaces Boyes in the lineup.
Guest Queen Leelee Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 So, the Sabres traded Biron, Novotny and a few spots lower in the draft for Zubrus and Conklin. And a couple low draft picks for defensemen depth so there's not a repeat of last year. I don't like it. Zubrus is definitely a rental, and not a great one at that. Novotny may never be a star, but he was already NHL talent and young. Conklin is a HUGE stepdown from Biron. Of course, if we had to rely on Biron for any prolonged time, we were probably in trouble anyway... but, Conklin is garbage. He's been horrible for the last 2 years, and the Sabres have nobody else to bring up. But, it's not like any Eastern teams did anything, either. Except for Smyth to the Island.
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I think we're getting Modry as part of the Norstrom deal. I won't go to another game as long as he's here if this is the case. EDIT: Modry's a UFA in the offseason, so the Kings just traded for 4.25 million bucks in cap space. I now truly appreciate what Modry brings to this franchise. I'm glad to have him back.
Annabelle Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 king? where are you getting your info? most of it has been wrong. if bertuzzi & hasek stay healthy, there is no doubt in my mind detroit is the favorite this year.
Annabelle Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 canada is ENRAGED about the smyth deal. i think its not too bad. smyth is overated as shit. plus the dude wants 5.5 million a year. you kidding me? i'd be scared to give him three. they got two former first rounders and a first round pick for him. this deal gives them almost as much as the pronger trade for a lesser commodity. i like the isles and all, but whats with them taking on smyth & not trading blake? they're gonna lose one of them. and i doubt it will be smyth. so why not trade blake for a nice package of prospects.
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 The only things that I said that are possibly wrong are Gelinas to Calgary, and for sure Bertuzzi to Anaheim. Everything else I edited as soon as I found out it was wrong. Kings traded Jason Ward to Tampa and added Jamie Heward.
Annabelle Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 how many teams did aaron miller go to? it doesn't matter, i was more honestly curious where you were getting your info.
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 HF Chat and the TSN stream they have over the internet. It's better than anything Eklund, because today surely proved that he's a fraud. He got two trades right, the Bertuzzi one and the Smyth one. The Miller thing was purely speculation on my part and that of other Kings fans, because he's a UFA.
