King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 Yeah, I finally got around to listening to week 14. It was a Landon-centric show. I liked it. I tried to get a storyline going with Zyon. He didn't reply to my PMs. All I heard from him was that he had a storyline which involved the World Title and if I was free for it. Never heard what it was or anything after that, so what's a guy to do? Also, Shiranui = Sliced Bread #2. It's the non-goofy as hell, 'everybody except Brian Kendrick' name for the move. Alex Shelley, Marufuji etc.. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I should have wrote 'hooks the head' rather than 'hooks the leg'. Again, sorry that wasn't clear. Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2007 Apparently, everyone except for me knew what that was so it's cool. My knowledge of wrestling moves isn't very deep; I can describe them but I only know what they're really called half the time. Just as WC.

Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2007 Regarding MANSON giving the lariat to James... well, I did write him as getting Bruner down with the lariat, and he's 6'10", so there's precedent. One as strong as MANSON giving a Lariat to someone only six inches taller who just got the tar beat out of him is by no means a stretch. But since the Lariat is his trademark, after all, it becomes more about James (or anyone in that position) coming to know who did it by going for it. The proper Curbstomp on someone of his size and the overkill there was the bigger problem, as were the segments before and after which would've been better if broken up, but which I didn't like all that much due to a number of reasons. Regardless it was all senseless, overt violence which is partially what MANSON is about. Maybe I can build it into a few self-written matches during off weeks to fill out the card and make it mean something but I don't know if I have that in me. Sides. It's MANSON. If he wants to hit Godzilla with a Lariat he'll make it happen.

Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 I'm into minute sixteen of the podcast, and I'm REALLY hoping this leads to something... EDIT - Clark, that was the worst payoff ever! You rambled on for ten minutes just to get to that?!

Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 Hardcore matches aren't hard to write at all... at least, not to me; hell, spotfests are my specialty. I feel like I could beat Drea in a Hardcore Title match if I gave it my best effort... but I wouldn't do any such thing, even if I were booked in a title match, because I have no regard for the Hardcore title. Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 By the way, Clark, what you are referring to is an homage to Gorilla Monsoon, who always used to preface matches like that... I've said up top in the General forum that my favorite announce team of all time was Ventura/Monsoon, with my second-favorite being Ventura/Ross; I've always tried to write King as Ventura, and I tend to prefer write Mak as being a mix between 86-89 Monsoon and 91-93 Jim Ross. But yeah, I'm quite partial to that "bell's gone, and we're underway!"

I wasn't putting you down.
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 Also, since everybody knows how much I love to talk about me, let me just speak on that "selfishness" comment; it's not that I'm not selfish when it comes to the WCC. In fact, it's exactly the opposite: I'm sure that most people in the fed would say that I have what they would describe as an "inflated" sense of worth of the WCC, but I really believe in it, and I want to see it have a prominent position in the fed. In order for that to happen, somebody besides me has to be able to get over with the belt (and get the belt over). And if that means I have to drop the WCC to somebody else, I'm happy to do that. I would just like to see somebody besides me treat the WCC like it's something that they actually want to have, rather than as some kind of auxiliary prop, or as a cheap punchline, or as a stepping stone to another title. Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 Toxxic got pinned. I remember because I wrote it; we won with the Silver Bullet, and we wouldn't have been able to get Davis up for the Silver Bullet. EDIT - okay, you found it, cool. Saves me from having to dig it up.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 I never said you were selfish. I was pointing out that you could have easily won the WHC numerous times over the years and didn't. I wasn't even trying to say you were always more focused on the WCC. And it was Tom Flesher that made it a punchline, although he admitted to doing it in the hopes that you'd come back for it. The problem is, currently, that most of the roster is cruiserweight, and so given a choice between that or having a shot at the World (or maybe even the INT) titles, it's not hard to see what most people would pick. Not that I am belittling the WCC. If we had a larger contingent of heavyweights, then it might be easier to see the WCC being more important than it is. It also doesn't help that, at least in this fed, it's all about real competition so it is not impossible for a cruiserweight to beat a heavyweight for the world title or be in serious contention for it. If we made the point that ONLY heavyweights could have the WHC and that the WCC was on the same level, then the WCC would be the most important part of the fed at its current state. Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2007 Dude, it's not even a question of *if* I could have won it; I had a WHC match against Ejiro where I was told three days before the deadline that Ejiro wasn't going to show... I could have written a haiku and become the WHC. I didn't want it. And, like I've told Johnny before, it's not that I'm absolutely unwilling to go after the World Heavyweight Championship, it's that I have a specific plan in mind for Wildchild's road to pursue that belt, and I'm not willing to deviate from it. And, since there's not enough time before the pending close of the fed for me to implement that plan the way I want to, then there's not going to be any WHC for WC... The one deviation to my plan that I would have accepted would have been to have had a WHC match in the Bahamas.

Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2007 Don't be mad that I don't agree with you getting a title shot for doing nothing. I said the same thing about Zyon. Also, if you don't like what I say on Skull Radio you could call in and offer your thoughts, instead of again... doing nothing. Nonetheless, my opinon still stands that Spike Jenkins isn't a credible threat to the World Title right now. The charater needs to be built up.
