Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 29, 2007 My created Alexander Rodriguez in RTTS is still struggling horribly. Year 1: 9.40 ERA in Tucson for a month, before being dumped to Mobile and a 3.20 ERA there the rest of the year, and starting the AA All-Star Game. Year 2: 3.50 ERA in Tuscon as mostly a reliever, then surprisingly called up to Arizona as their 5th starter... and a 2.37 ERA for the rest of the year. Which made little sense. Year 3: 3.56 ERA for the 1st month as the D-Backs 4th starter. I keep getting bullshit HR's hit against me. Including Juan Fucking Pierre hitting an opposite field HR on a 102 MPH fastball high and out of the strike zone. Fuck that shit. My stats suck. I originally planned to be a braindead pitcher who throws 100+ MPH and whatever happens will happen, but you must raise your /9 stats, or you have no chance of being successful. I still have a long way to go before I can even start raising my batting/fielding stats, and being a 2-way God of Baseball. Just like Alexander.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 I'm going to rent The Show for PS2 since I'm probably not going to spring for a 360 until the $100 price drop later this year. If it sucks then I only have Leena to blame for hyping it up.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted May 9, 2007 The Show isn't the kind of game you should rent. Anyway, I had to drop my Alexander Rodriguez starter creation because playing as a starter got boring. And I was tired of the crappy D-Backs giving me zero runs, and never winning a game, and thus never getting any points and sucking forever. And I had like a .075 average. So, I created a closer for the Yankees. Named PRONK. Much, much better being a closer. The seasons just fly by as you pitch like 50 innings a year, and get lots of points for easy, quick saves. Year 1: Spent all the year in SCRANTON-WILKES BARRE GO RED BARONS. Got 50 saves, with a 1.37 ERA (I should note the ERA is screwed in this game with closers, the game occasionally ignores any runs you give up and yes I know the ERA rules, which is why they're so strong.). Also got called up for a week to the evil empire due to Rivera getting a head contusion. 4 saves in 4 opportunities with a 0.00 ERA. Year 2: Rivera surprisingly retired, and I was the Yankees' closer. Unfortunately, the Yankees really sucked this year for some reason winning like 70 games, and I only got 33 saves. 2.56 ERA. Bad year for me, but I was still learning my pitches. Year 3: Here's where dominance ensued. 46 saves in 47 opportunities (Chone Figgins hit a HR in the only blown one. CHONE FUCKING FIGGINS TO THE OPPOSITE FIELD FUCK YOU.) 0.41 ERA. Absolutely filthy. Year 4: 48 saves in 50 opportunities. 1.16 ERA. This was the 102 MPH Fastball with the 50 MPH Knuckler experimentation year. Note: Don't use a knuckler in this game. It sucks. Year 5: 52 saves and I'm only in mid-September. The goal is to remove Robert Thigpen from the record books. 0.36 ERA this year. All my pitches are maxed, and almost maxed with the fielding. PRONK will be GOD from now on. World's Worst Man 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 Does your Pronk miss the all-star game despite putting up monster numbers? Just wondering if the game is that realistic.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 Jesus, how often do you play Leena?
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted May 9, 2007 About an hour per day. As a closer, you can do a season in like 2 hours. No, I've made the All-Star Game every year. Although, I did have one ridiculous call down to AAA in the 5th year for about a week because Otsuka had like 15 saves in a month at Scranton-WB. That was some bullshit. This game does far too much of the drop downs. Like, we signed Chase Utley and Aramis Ramirez, and they're both in AAA. And JJ Putz is in freaking AA. J.B. Buzzkill 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2007 Please excuse my utter stupidity, but how do you switch from swing stick to classic hitting? Thanks in advance.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2007 Please excuse my utter stupidity, but how do you switch from swing stick to classic hitting? Thanks in advance. I want to say that its under player options or gameplay settings when you pause the game. Under batting preference you'll see where you can toggle it over to classic (A button) style. Atleast I think that's where its at.. I'm just waking up so I might be a bit off
Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Well I ended up upgrading to MVP '05 due to the recommendations of people I know and on the board and I just suck at hitting. I have it on All-Star but can't ever seem to smack a home run. I get lots of singles and get about 11 hits a game but the computer beats me when they are able to hit a home run. It's just frustrating to be playing 1-0 games. Any tips? (I play with the Reds by the way).
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2007 Hmm, I am having a lot of clipping issues. Whenever there is a man on, the game clips and it makes it hard to pitch. I don't know if it is the PS3 or the game. I am thinking it's the PS3. And has anyone tried MLB The Show for PS3 yet? I want to rent it, but no one seems to have it yet for rent. Craig Th 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 Ugh, I am doing a career mode in the Show as a SP. What pisses me off is that they NEVER swing at balls. Ever.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I hear that Mole. Just finished my first season of career mode and it gets very frustrating when you try and make them swing at junk and 90% of the time they dont chase anything. I can understand the really good hitters maybe but not EVERY hitter. Getting strikeout's is very difficult. Most I ever had was 7 in a AAA start for Pawtucket and that was prolly mostly luck. Overall great game though!
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted May 20, 2007 If you want to get strikeouts, you need to vary the strength of your pitches. If you go full strength too much, you get pounded. I get a decent amount of K's with a 12-6 curve at the low end of the meter.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Started a season for 2K7 as the Red Sox. In one week, Coco Crisp is leading my team with three home runs and 8 RBI's. Ortiz and Manny have zero homers and zero RBI's
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 Ugh, I am doing a career mode in the Show as a SP. What pisses me off is that they NEVER swing at balls. Ever. Wow I never have that problem. You probably need to vary your pitch selection. Make them bite no matter what.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 Yeah, I figured it out. I'm in my second year as a Closer and I'm in AAA as a SU man to Papelbon. And for some reason, Schill is in AAA also. I'd rather be in AA right now to get my stats up. Even though I'll achieve all my goals in a game, I'll only get 80 points. I think you need to get a save or a win to get more points, which I am doing neither.
Mecca 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 I've been playing lot's of 2k and I'm killing everyone.......Jered Weaver and Ervin Santana are dominant.......I'm averaging ore than a K per inning. Pitching is alot of fun when you have high K pitchers like those 2 but I totally suck with Colon.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 Quick question: How the fuck do you break up a double play when sliding into 2nd? I've had this game for months and haven't figured it out for the life of me. Also, if anyone wants to hit up a game online, either post here or friend me on XBL.
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 Regarding double plays: I don't think you can break them up. You just have to hope the back runner beats out the throw to first.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2007 Yeah. That's so frustrating. Nearly everything about this game is great, but the developers left out such an important aspect of the game.
Mecca 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2007 I also hope you guys changed sliders otherwise you'll hit 800 Hr's
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2007 Today I decided to start a franchise with the Dodgers and the "force CPU trades" option turned on, and turned out with quite a team. First game, I won 15-1.
Mecca 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2007 Today I decided to start a franchise with the Dodgers and the "force CPU trades" option turned on, and turned out with quite a team. First game, I won 15-1. I have that on so if a good player gets hurt I can fix it....... If any of you guys have it where the CP team has a star in AAA and isn't calling him up.......trade your worst player for whoever is up in that spot.......then they'll call him up then trade the guys back, problem solved.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2007 Why? That takes all of the fun out of the game. I'd be able to trade Pedroia for Pujos no problem.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2007 Bordem. I likely won't play another game in that franchise. Just like how I started a Royals franchise and traded away everyone making more than $1.0 million for top prospects from around the league and turned them into an awesome team, played 1 game, and gave up. I already went through a 162 game season and won the World Series, so I'm pretty much done with this game now.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2007 Then play at Legend. I finished my first season with the BoSox winning the WS against the Braves in 7 games. I was up 2-0 and they won 3 straight. In the offseason, I signed Kazmir as my 4th starter and Kerry Wood for my bullpen. I also signed Garrett Atkins since Lowell wasn't doing shit for me. I then stuck Papelbon in the bullpen as my closer, since he was starter for me last year. He didn't do very well though. But I started the season 3-4. The Yankees and Blue Jays were just hitting HR after HR on me.

Craig Th 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2007 I won the WS and I had no team chemistry (which was due to me trading too much, which I stopped after noticing the lack of TC).
Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2007 I forget where it is off the top of my head, but when viewing the full roster of your team.. when you push the start button, there's an option for you to call a team meeting and pick a "theme" for your meeting from a given list. It ranges from things like people aren't playing hard enough and jobs are on the line to shit like... "LET'S HAVE AN MLB 2k7 TOURNAMENT!!!11!!1!~" I picked one about how my guys all needed to relax and take it one game at a time and it seemed to boost up the morale.
