Hey Marvin, just shut up.

Recommended Posts

My TV is a 17 inch piece of shit Sanyo which is pretty wide from front to back and takes up plenty of space in the entertainment center. Brightness and quality may vary. It's a Sanyo. Hey, I'm not complaning. And here is Marvin. Makes fun of the HD tv's in bars. Goes on and on about his HD capabilities. And bitches when it's "strech-o-vision" on his screen (like the 24 hour Law & Order on TNT tonight). OOOH MY GOD! THEY LOOK BLOATED AS FUCKING HELL! Someone how marvin, I think you'll live to see another day.

Sadly.

Someone has a smaller TV than my 20" incher I owned for a decade before moving in with Hubby. I feel better now.

Some of you people need to visit the AVS HD forums if you think what I do here is bad.

You wouldnt understand the problem of stretchovision since you dont have a widescreen TV. Imagine taking the picture you watch now and having it stretched about a 1/4 to the left and to the right, but not vertically. I did not pay $900 to see bloated psuedo-hd-for-idiots. The shows commonly stretched were not in HD originally, however they could still show them on the HD channel and it would be fine in 4:3 aspect, but no..they have to stretch it because 16:9 is the only gosh darn way to show an HD program and people love it when characters on TV look like Jabba the Hutt.

I hear A&E HD is the same way, and their only HD program is CSI Miami which is why they have to freakin show CSI Miami 15 out of 24 hours now to justify having an HD channel. A&E should change their name anyway..theres hardly any program on that network that falls under either Arts or Entertainment..

You know, I don't think it would be bad because it's an HD FORUM.

And honestly, am I the only one here that really doesn't care about HD or high resolution? It just doesn't bother me at all.

So what size is yours now?

Dear, forums.thesmartmarks.com does not look like an HD forum to me. It's different here.

We have a 30-something incher HDTV now.

Many people have both.

Matthew doesn't have the option because he's so fat, ugly and miserable.

DID YOU KNOW

Many if not most widescreen TVs (yes, HD ones!) come with an option to change the zoom level on the TV so you can have the picture in 4:3 instead of it filling up the whole screen. Obviously this makes the picture a bit smaller, but then you won't have to bitch about "stretchovision". I'm going to go ahead and assume you have this option for your TV and that you're going to be aware of it.

You know what happens when you assume!

My tv has no zoom feature. I can make the screen 4:3 if its 16:9 and the stretched crap will look fine, but the channel shouldnt send the picture stretched to begin with. Its stupid.

Marvin looks like a bloated, Jabba the Hutt on my widescreen monitor. All of my settings are not changing this.

It's stupid. I'm not going to forums.thesmartmarks.com any further!

I used to use the "zoom" button (which is an odd name since it just changes the picture format) but I've just gotten used to how everything that isn't widescreen looks in widescreen... not all that different, really.
