Failed Bridge Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 moved out of where I was and I'm staying with friends in Portland. They have no internet access so I thought I'd come say my farewells for now while picking up mail and laundry detergent from where I was staying. My ship date is a definate March 26th now and will not be changed again. I get my job on Monday so I'll know what my occupation in the corp will be. I'll talk to you all again probably some time in July.
Black Lushus Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 good luck man...you know youu CAN use a library to check in here, right?
2GOLD Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 good luck man...you know youu CAN use a library to check in here, right? A library would probably explode if you access this place. See you in July dude, enjoy Portland and good luck with whatever position you get.
Failed Bridge Posted March 8, 2007 Author Report Posted March 8, 2007 I'll be too busy to check in really. I work out with the Marine recruiters now everyday...today was a 5hr workout. My arms feel like putty.
Failed Bridge Posted March 8, 2007 Author Report Posted March 8, 2007 thanks man. Well I'm out. Talk to you all in a few months (with the exception of Slayer whom I'll call at some point before I leave)
Lord of The Curry Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Be safe, brother. Canada is rooting for you to come home alive and well.
Jericholic82 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I don't know if I talked to you much before, but good luck anyhow. Let us know how it went when you get the chance.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Good luck and try to keep us posted.
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Good luck, Adam. Take care, buddy.
Failed Bridge Posted March 27, 2007 Author Report Posted March 27, 2007 Med docs came up right before I was suppose to ship out which are probably going to get me medically discharged over shit that happened years ago. I'm extremely pissed off at the moment and since I'd be homeless right now due to this I was forced to go back to MA. I'm looking at grabbing a job and getting into a Fire Academy for now as I have about a 5% chance of this all still going through at the moment. I have no idea how a military that is trying to expand and looking at deploying further can go out of their way to disqualify candidates. Evidently they've wanted to disqualify me ever since finding out about my highschool education. Regardless I'm still not going to be around for awhile as I try to get all my affairs in order. I'm so completely frustrated right now over all of this.

Odds are, you'll probably enjoy that more than the Corps, anyhow.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Both Backdraft and Rambo had interesting and fun scenarios that you could find yourself in. Plus, didn't Rambo and the Backdraft guy both get to fuck hot bitches? Basically, which job would net you the finer bitch? Use that to decide how pissed off you should be at this situation.

I'm so completely frustrated right now over all of this. You should consider yourself lucky, my friend. If your medical problems stem from your legs, you would surely feel the pain of the Reaper, or the various 5-15 mile hikes throughout the "mountains" of California. There's a reason they don't allow men and women in with existing injuries because they'll have to pay for their medical retirement, and its a waste of both money and time.
Failed Bridge Posted April 10, 2007 Author Report Posted April 10, 2007 the med reasons they hit me up for was my being on anti-depressants while a teen and into my early twenties (although I was told previously its not a disqualifier if you've been off of them for at least a year), although the heart and lung issue I had came up too. Heart and lungs was from being extremely overweight at the time which I am anything but at the moment and I don't battle with depression at all anymore. It also didn't help that for whatever reason one of the doctors put down in my med docs that I came into the hospital with my wrists cut up all over the place. I have never cut up my wrists and I have no scars of any kinds on them. I'm wondering if there's any legal course that should be taken there since that was the major nail in the coffin as to heading down to bootcamp. I'd still like very much to be a Marine but at this stage I don't know what can be done if anything for it to happen. Obviously getting some psyche consults in which the docs can document that I'm completely fine would be step one, but will that work? All I know if that the military is expanding on the different FELONIES in which can be waived but medical shit that is over and done with in my life (and had been for quite awhile now) is being used as a disqualifier. I got the Police Entrance Exam I'll be taking at the end of this month though. If I can't be military then cop or firefighter is more than sufficient.
Black Lushus Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 did they think you would pull a Private Pyle or something?
Guest Queen Leelee Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Maybe because he'd pull an theintensifier and drive tanks into his partners.
theintensifier Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 .....yeah, since that's what I did.
Black Lushus Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 I don't think the Marines do much tank driving...that's more Army, no?
theintensifier Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 The Marines have tanks, not very good tanks (Hand me downs from the Army - usually 20-30 years old), but they have tanks. That was Leena's lame attempt to get back at me for what I had said earlier.
