Mik 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 I'm excited to see Idris Elba in a new role. I figured his career would take off after Stringer was killed off, but I was wrong.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Idris Elba, Begbie from Trainspotting and Michael from Lost has me fairly excited, though the three of them combined unfortunately cannot equal up to the supreme awesomeness that is Brendon Gleason. Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 New Clips Up. I love the one of Robert Carlyle running from the infected.
dubq 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 Holy fuck that's an intense clip. Â Looks like they're using some of the same soundtrack from the original film, too...
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 I hope they re-use the Godspeed You Black Emperor! song they used in the first when Gleason got capped by the army dudes right after getting infected. That song amped up what was already a fucking intense scene.
Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2007 Fangoria has a review up. They give it ***1/2 out of ****
Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2007 It's at 68% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 80% on Metacritic. Â I'm seeing it tomorrow with friends.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2007 Toronto Star gave it ***1/2 out of four and I'm usually pretty in tune with their reviews so suffice to say I'm fuckin stoked on this bad boy.

Narcoleptic Jumper 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 This movie pretty much sucked, and had about a tenth of the integrity of the original. I want my 90 minutes back.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted May 12, 2007 I think the best way to compare this one to the original would be kind of like Aliens compared to Alien. The first one had a lot more drama, while this one has a hell of a lot more action (and it's maybe one of the goriest fucking movies I've ever seen without getting cheesy with it), and both have an equal amount of suspense. I had very few, if any, gripes with the movie and have to say you can barely tell the difference in directing. Â The next one is going to kick major ass. I'm not big on horror or "zombie-ish" (I'll keep it at that, god forbid any of you Romero geeks come down on me for that again) films, but I really love this one and the last one. Excellent premise, great soundtrack (very similar if not some of the same music from the first one), and lots of entertainment. Â That nightvision scene was soooo fucking intense. Really creative and even though you could see what was coming a mile away, it was still done really well. I think my only gripe with the film was how convenient it was that all the other infected kept getting killed off by all the various means of extermination while that same fucking father stayed alive throughout the whole thing. WAY too contrived. They could have done with him getting killed like everyone else.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 Someone describe those gore scenes for me, always makes me want to se it more. Thanks in advance
spman 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 Now actually, the night vision stuff was the only part I didn't like. It all reminded me too much of the Blair Witch Project, which was a film I could never stand. I did like this movie overall though, just of great action and violence. Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 The only things I had trouble with were the slow motion sequences and the fact that the Infected Don just keeps popping up. He sure is a scary motherfucker though. Â Other than that, I liked it, as did my friends and the audience. I really like the apocalyptic, almost nihlistic tone to it. To quote Joe Bob Briggs, "Anyone can die at any moment." That's how apocalyptic horror should be. Fuck a happy ending, this is the end of the world.

Henry Spencer 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2007 A few effective sequences, but overall, a fairly cliched mess of a movie that really couldn't decide in which direction it wanted to go.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 Well I just got back from it and I really enjoyed the film. A worthy sequel to say the least. With a summer of sequels that are likely(and so far according to most have )to dissapoint, 28 Weeks Later delivered. I really liked the fact that they kept you on your toes with the main characters, because you never quite knew who was going to die when. character to turn and get infected. Â Once the helicopter pilot picked up the kids, I thought the closing shot of the movie might be the three of them flying into America, with the statue of liberty in the background eluding to that if there ever was a sequel, it could take place in NY/America which would be one way to make a brand new story for the third film. Instead the showed the infected running towards the Eiffel Tower which is saying that infection spread a lot wider by the end of this flick then the origial

cd213 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Just got back from seeing this movie a little while ago. This has got to be the best sequel since Terminator 2. It was intense, scary, gory and had a great soundtrack to boot. One of the major thing I loved was the filmmakers didn't take the easy way out and go with the cheep scares. There were times when I was thinking "Ok, here it comes, here comes the scare," and nothing. Then a few minutes later, BAM. As much as i liked LAnd of the Dead, this was everything that film was trying to be. It was an amazing piece of work! Best movie of the year so far!
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Honestly, I loved it as a sequel. I thought it was much, much better than I was originally expecting.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I would have thought the Helicopter scene was the greatest thing ever if I hadn't just seen it last month in Grindhouse. That's no one's fault, though. The group I saw it with last night had mixed opinions but overall I liked it.
