The OAO Raw Hot Sell for WM 23 (March 26th)

Recommended Posts

Mr. McMahon has promised that the last Raw before WrestleMania will be the biggest one of all time. It is only fitting that the show will air live from Chicago, the home of last year’s WrestleMania.

With two huge main events, it looks like the show will live up to Mr. McMahon’s claims. World Tag Team Champions (and WrestleMania competitors) John Cena & Shawn Michaels will face World Heavyweight Champion Batista & Undertaker in a No Way Out rematch. Will the tenuous relationship between The WWE Champ & HBK stay intact?

At WrestleMania, Mr. McMahon’s representative Umaga will face Donald Trump’s representative Bobby Lashley in the Battle of the Billionaires. On Raw, Mr. McMahon himself will go one-on-one with the ECW World Champion. Does The Chairman have what it takes to topple the powerful Lashley?

As if two main events weren't big enough, Raw is going to get sexier than ever with the first-ever team-up of three Playboy cover girls - Ashley, Candice and Torrie - as they battle Women's Champion Melina, Victoria and Jillian. Who will prevail in this Six-Diva Tag Match? Will Melina and Ashley get some pre-'Mania action as they compete in the same ring on Raw?

Former World Tag Team Champions Edge & Randy Orton have also been in each other’s throats of late. Will their partnership continue to disintegrate as the Road to WrestleMania comes to an end?

This Lashley vs. Vince match is the worst idea of the year for WWE. They've done such a nice job of building Lashley up for WM and it'd all be undone once Vince pins him for a 1-2-3. Also, and I mentioned this in last week's thread, why would Vince want to fight a 20 something champion in his prime when he refused to fight Trump himself at WM?

This is one time where a bait and switch is the only feasible thing to do. Lashley shouldn't be losing going into WM and Vince should get his comeuppance at WM, not on the Raw before it.

I'm still pushing to see a Eight Man Tag match with the MitB guys (Wild-Card style). It's in Chicago, gotta have Punk appear. Yes, they already have six-woman match and a tag main event but I think adding a Eight-Man doesn't hurt and would be quite a match with the usual hot Chicago crowds.

They should speed up the development of Lashley and make him a drunk now! Who doesn't want to see Bobby Lashley bash a six-pack of Colt 45 malt liquor before and after every match? Do you smell what the Lash is chugging?

I think Lashley reminds Vince of a young Tony Atlas which is why he's getting this monster push. Vince really is a mark for some of the older guys.

As far as the Malt liquor goes, we all should pound a 6 pack before Bobby Lashley comes on screen. Then do a shot every time he smiles.

I think the idea of Edge avoiding Orton in that match would be great. Save the first physical confrontation for Mania. I wanted to do it in Chicago, since it's a huge shot to put Punk over on Raw with a hometown crowd behind him. The others are established to WWE's fanbase as either main event acts (Booker, Orton and Edge) or life long mid-card acts (Hardyz, Finlay). With Kennedy being in between for right now but Punk has very little exposure to the Raw crowd and it's as good as any time to do it.

That way, have Punk pull a upset on King Booker tonight and do a singles match at ECW or Smackdown.

It was awhile back but Booker and Punk have had a confrontation once before when Booker was champion and Punk suggested they'd have match but Booker was appaled by the idea.

I had thought they should do the 8-man on Smackdown with it being RAW/ECW vs Smackdown. That way you still get Matt vs Jeff, more issues between Edge and Orton as a team, and a reason for the make-up of the teams.

kennedy is going to win MITB? the reason i ask is because edge is undefeated so he might win but he already won a MITB so confused

Yeah good point because Vince said that his doctor told him not to wrestle anymore after his hell in a cell match at unforgiven 2006, which was the reason he said that he wasnt going to fight Donald, so why is he getting in the ring with Lashley?

I wounder if Cena is still going to get mega heat in Chicago.

Probably because the majority of Chicago fans dont like Cena as you saw last year at Wrestlemania 22

Lashley will lose by McMahon having like twenty guys interfere on his behalf (and then umaga at the end). Does that really make Lashley look weak, going into Mania? Not really. And Lashley/Trump have been "coming out on top' in all the pre-match feuding, so it only makes sense Lashley has a setback.

It seems WWE is pushing that Edge or Randy Orton are the two biggest possiblites of winning the MITB match since that seems to be the major storyline with those two going into the match. Unless there's one on Smackdown I don't know about. I Haven't watched Smackdown for about 3 weeks now.

Not really. They have had the various MitB guys work random matches against each other. Kennedy's pushing himself hard but that's his usual deal. Finlay and Booker are basically afterthoughts. Punk's in the New Breed/Originals free agent deal and even Edge/Orton is about them and not the MitB itself.

I think Kennedy is winning the MITB. Edge and Orton will cancel each other out and cost each other the match. Note that Kennedy is the only participant who has flat out said he wants to win.

As far as Lashley goes, he shouldn't be jobbing AT ALL right now and I don't care how many people run in or what the circumstances are. What good does it do? None. What harm could it do? Plenty. They can accomplish the same end result by simply having everyone run in for a DQ and then Vince and Co. leave Lashley laying in a pool of blood. He at least wouldn't job that way.

What about Punk? He keeps saying "WrestleMania is MY night", "I will make the most of my opportunity". Edge has gone around saying he's undefeated and will stay that way.

You guys barking about Edge's big "tradition" of winning at WM...

Remember Orton's even much more impressive streak of being the sole survivor at SSeries in 2003, 2004, and 2005?

Yeah. 2006 SSeries was one of the biggest PPV burials ever.

I'd love to see Punk at Raw tonight being that it is in his hometown.

The womens match is setting up the eventual LumberJill stipulation for the Melina vs Ashley match at WM23. I think that is probably a good idea as Ahhley is garbage and Melina isn't able to carry her competition to passable matches.

It also gets all the divas out there to look good in front of a big crowd without taking more time off the show.
