Enigma 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 After demolishing Chris Masters on ECW on Sci Fi and Mr. Kennedy & Randy Orton on SmackDown, ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley looked unstoppable on his Road to WrestleMania. But as Mr. McMahon showed on Raw, there’s a good reason why you should not cross the boss. Will Lashley be able to regain some momentum on ECW on Sci Fi with the Battle of the Billionaires at WrestleMania 23 just five days away? Also this week on ECW on Sci Fi, the eight Money in the Bank participants will collide in the same ring in the same match. ECW's CM Punk, Edge and Matt & Jeff Hardy will face Mr. Kennedy, King Booker, Finlay and Randy Orton in an Eight-Man Tag Match just days before the Ford Field showdown. Who will gain the upper hand before Sunday? Speaking of Eight-Man Tag Matches, the New Breed managed to get an edge on the Originals last week when Elijah Burke found a way to top Tommy Dreamer, and Kevin Thorn & Marcus Cor Von defeated Rob Van Dam & Sabu. On the final ECW on Sci Fi before their battle at WrestleMania, Burke and RVD will face off in a battle of the team captains. Which side will seize the momentum before their showdown at WrestleMania? The tension among the Superstars is high as all roads lead to the grandest stage of them all in Detroit on April 1. Don’t miss the last ECW on Sci Fi before WrestleMania on Tuesday at 10/9 CT. Silence 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Why is Edge, a heel, teaming with CM Punk and The Hardy Boyz? Although the MITB match is really unbalanced with 5 heels and only 3 faces.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Why is Edge, a heel, teaming with CM Punk and The Hardy Boyz? Although the MITB match is really unbalanced with 5 heels and only 3 faces. That's just really answered your own question, but who would you have put on the face side? Kennedy or Orton?
Silence 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 That's just really answered your own question, but who would you have put on the face side? Kennedy or Orton? Probably Orton, as Edge tried to cost him his MITB spot last week, and it's looking like Orton might be turning face. Oh well, it's likely that Edge will walk out on his teammates anyway. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Yes. Edge is walking out or Orton chases him out. Leaving it to be six man face/heel match.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Edge should walkout claiming some obscure political reason about the city!
JPopStarKami 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 I wonder if they'll further the New Breed trying to recruit CM Punk storyline, thought for some reason I can't see them getting involved in the 8-man. What I'm thinking (and hoping) is that they stay silent about it until Wrestlemania, and then the New Breed makes a surprise run-in at Money in the Bank for Punk to get the win. But that's just how I'd book it.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Eh...I really don't think the MitB needs any run ins. They have eight guys in the match...they should be able to book a finish without resorting to that.
JPopStarKami 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 I only say that because the New Breed (Elijah in particular) has been offering to help Punk in the match if he joins them. They're developing a nice story on ECW.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 They won't need to get involved. They'll have skit tonight with NB talking to Punk again and maybe this time RVD will join in. Assuming Punk wins, which right now given the landscape is a strong chance, they'll easily do a tease after the match about Punk deciding whose side he is on. In fact, I expect Punk to come out after winning and everyone is buzzing about Punk possibly turning...only for RVD to finally turn heel on The Originals and attack Punk afterwards. Setting up the best possible program ECW can have. Punk is a better heel but RVD is getting phased out. Use that to give Punk a big push.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Punk vs HBK would be a great title match that should main event one of the big 4 PPVs.
Guest FuManchu36 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 This is first post, been lurking for awhile. After seeing Edge chime in after Punk's match and the little confrontation they had during the cutting edge, I could really get into a fued between the two. It's probably just wishful thinking but what better way to push Punk then by having him fued with Edge. I think they could put on some great matches, and I think the mic work would be great aswell. I know this won't happen for sometime, unless they decide on holding off the ever looming Edge/Orton fued. But what do I know, i'm probably just a simple mark to most of you guys. Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 If Rob didn't really catch Burke on that kick, that was a hell of a realistic sell. I think I'd probably just crumple after getting kicked in the jaw too.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 Punk was quite over (home town helped but he got the big pop before he was even mentioned as a Chi-Town guy) and RVD's getting chants here. That feud will be really good when RVD turns sunday night and Punk takes issue with him.

I'm assuming that RVD goes into "cocky surfer dude" heel mode like he was when he went with the Mr. Monday Night persona? I don't think he can pull off any kind of a serious heel. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 Man, this has been pretty damn solid and got decent time. Add in the eight man that SHOULD get 20 minutes, we should have quite a night of wrestling.

That wouldn't keep him as a heel. He can cut a serious promo when he needs to. Punk would carry that promo war anyways.

His contract isn't too much longer is it? They could always morph it into an eventual "battle for respect" with the blowoff being a face vs. pseudoface matchup. Human Fly 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2007 Elijah Burke has got the goods. Another year or so as a heel to fine tune some things and I think he could have a really hot run as a baby face.

No. Put Punk over at WM and then have a confrontation from Punk and The NB after the match (since the MitB will proceed the eight man) and tease that Punk will indeed join NB but it's RVD that actually does the turn. Punk uses the briefcase to put over that he will win the title when he's ready and won't blow it like RVD did. They already have acknowledge RVD's situation last year and if they can bury RVD on the way out by putting over that he's a dumb-ass and having Punk outshine RVD in everyway does everything for him and puts RVD down. Not to mention how the fans gain from that.
