-DeN- Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Seriously. Upon answering my phone the last couple of days, I've heard other people's conversations for like 5-10 seconds before my connection goes worky. The first few were unremarkable, but the last two involved some dude talking about choking someone and a chick not wanting to be a booty call. Hope they're not dating each other, because that won't end well. I'm feeling this turn of events, as it's rekindled my interest in phone shit. Talk about phones.
BUTT Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Inc, do you use the phrase "real talk" a lot? I've been successful over the last few weeks at getting some of my friends to adopt it into their regular vernacular, but I have a long way to go.
BUTT Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 I find adding "And that's REAL TALK!" at the end of an affirmative statement really increases the power of that statement.
BUTT Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Like if in the GNR thread you had written "Chinese Democracy won't turn a profit. AND THAT'S REAL TALK!" then I think your arguments would have held a lot more weight with me.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 I'm waiting for the right moment to use "real talk, son." It hasn't come up.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Kreese, I have to say that now, since we've discussed the aesthetics of "real talk," I'm afraid I'll never be able to use it here or in real life without coming off ironic or post-ironic or just plain dorky. This thread has saved me from some potentially awkward social encounters. Thanks.
BUTT Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 I don't think any white person could use "real talk" in a non-ironic manner and not come off as a humongous tool.
-DeN- Posted March 31, 2007 Author Report Posted March 31, 2007 This is a thread about phones, not about you coming off as dorky in some hypothetical situation. Thank God you don't live near me, lest I be subjected to out of context dork bursts in my phone.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 This is like that Seinfeld episode that was on last night or the other night..

Boon Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Have you tried talking to them, like interjecting with your opinion on whatever they're talking about?
KanadianKrusty Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Free choke | Real talk equity | Phone loan | UK booty call or is that the wrong thread... whtever
-DeN- Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 Have you tried talking to them, like interjecting with your opinion on whatever they're talking about? I've just kept saying "hello" until it clicks over. No one's missed a beat or noticed that I can tell. Hope this isn't some parallel universe time warp shit, though it most likely is.
In Credible Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 It was weird when I had my iTrip in my car a couple time I picked up conversations. I'm guessing most of them were from those Nextel Walkie Talkie phone things. It was kind of funny, I picked up a conversation from a couple black guys and thought it was an intro for a rap song.

Are you using a cordless phone on a landline? Sometimes that is possible depending on what frequency the phone is operating on. If it's a cell phone, than it's a crappy network issue.
