vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Adam Everett muscled up on one to give the 'Stros a 5-3 lead over the Cubs in the 8th. He also made an error today (3rd of the season), but he's leading the club in average. Maybe he's turning into Derek Jeter or something.

I suggest you go back to managing your TSM NL Only team!!! Man Law: chug cheap beer but savor the flavor of the local micro-brew.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 You wish. Nah, because then the Houston sports press would be overwhelmed with stories about how Everett and Ensberg aren't 'as close as they used to be'.

vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Chris Carpenter is going to the DL (retroactive to April 2nd) because of his elbow. He'll be re-examined in a couple weeks and might be back for the end of the month, but maybe not. Randy Keisler is getting called up to take his place. And Mike Hampton's out for the year again. And after Brad Lidge's demotion, the latest buzz in Houston is that it's a strong possibility that he'll be shipped to AAA, which would be for the best, I think. Edit: Oh, and I heard that Jason Schmidt hurt his hamstring in the 4th inning and had to leave the game today.
Guest Report post Posted April 9, 2007 He did, but the report from the clubhouse is that Schmidt was fine a little bit after they took him out.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 The Jays' Opening Day game tonight reminds me of college homecoming, when you'd schedule the worst opponent you could to give you the best shot at getting a win. In this case, the Royals.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Has everyone heard this nonsense with all the sportswriters trying to make the moving of the Indians-Angels series to Milwaukee look like some kind of evil Bud Selig conspiracy? They're really trying to grasp for a story on this one. I guess they don't realize that Selig no longer owns the Brewers, and that Miller Park has a roof.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Because it's stupid. Especially when there's a very easy solution. Move the series to Anaheim.

Guest Smues Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Because it's stupid. Especially when there's a very easy solution. Move the series to Anaheim. If I'm the Indians I say fuck giving Anaheim three extra home games and gladly take the move to Miller Park.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Move a later series in Anaheim to Cleveland. Cleveland isn't gaining much, anyway. Few can travel to Milwaukee.
Guest Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Supposedly moving the later series to Cleveland was not feasible.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Supposedly moving the later series to Cleveland was not feasible. Looking at the schedule, I can see why. The Indians would have to play the Angels on a Thursday and then travel to Oakland for a Friday game, which I believe is against the MLB scheduling rules. Guest Smues Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Move a later series in Anaheim to Cleveland. Cleveland isn't gaining much, anyway. Few can travel to Milwaukee. That's what I'd do. But supposedly all seven Indians games at LAA have sold 40,000+ tickets already so they don't want to give those up.
Guest Eagle Man Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Don't you think if it was easy as moving these games to Anaheim and moving theirs to Cleveland, that they would've done that? I'm sure they considered that but couldn't because of the logistics involved with shuffling six dates. Has everyone heard this nonsense with all the sportswriters trying to make the moving of the Indians-Angels series to Milwaukee look like some kind of evil Bud Selig conspiracy? They're really trying to grasp for a story on this one. I guess they don't realize that Selig no longer owns the Brewers, and that Miller Park has a roof. There's no conspiracy, but I'm sure Selig didn't mind doing something for his hometown. But wouldn't it be awesome if the Indians broke out the '89 throwbacks, and Bob Uecker reprised the role of Harry Doyle for one of the three games? They actually used the old County Stadium for Major League. Juuuuuuust a bit outside.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 10, 2007 Where's the logistics of having 2,000 people at Miller Park.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2007 Reason #256 why I love HD: I get to clearly hear an umpire tell Buddy Bell, "You don't know SHIT!!" 4-0 Jays on the rare bases-clearing ground-rule double by Lyle Overbay. A fan reached over the fence and grabbed the ball as it was about to carom off the corner, but the home plate umpire ruled that the runner on first would have scored.
