Well, Albuquerque is worse with the Isotopes, which I'm assuming was named from the Simpsons' episode.

No, that's clever. "Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs" is ridiculous. Barring the obvious geographic error, what's wrong with Allentown Phillies?

"When ESPN named Michael Jordan the greatest athlete of the century, I thought that was ridiculous compared to Jackie Robinson," Reinsdorf added.

Okay, I think we're getting carried away now.

Probably being within 45 minutes of the Reading Phillies and an hour from the Philadelphia Phillies is overkill. Besides, I already hate dealing with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.

Reinsdorf must really hate his own basketball team.

He hired Kenny Williams and ran Marge Schott out of baseball. He needn't bend further backward to impress us with his sensitivity to diversity.

I know, but he's always bashing the Bulls. He seems to really value baseball over basketball. He said after they won the Finals that he'd trade it in for World Series rings or something like that. So it's not surprising he wants a baseball figure recognized as the greatest, as opposed to a basketball one.

What a jag. Someone please buy the Bulls. I think he also said the one White Sox championship means more to him than all six in the Bulls dynasty. Good luck finding kindred spirits there. The Jordan Bulls will be remembered as a larger-than-life phenomenon and a cornerstone of what it meant to live during the 1990s. The White Sox had some guy named "Jon Garland."

EDIT: Oh, and the way they kicked Frank Thomas to the curb was unacceptable. I can't think of a trashier organization in baseball than the White Sox.

Our pitching is so good, same old song. Juan Pierre left 6 guys on base, not that it mattered. David Wells got wrecked.

Thanks Sportsnet, I'd much rather watch a Toronto/Manitoba AHL game. I could understand if they were showing the Raptors game, at least.

Both 10 inning wins for Halladay have come against the Tigers.

Also, Fernando Rodney was the loser in both games.

All I know is that for the '94 strike, Jerry Reinsdorf can eternally fuck himself.

Whenever I see Leena post anymore I think it's the max at first.

Why.

In a world of Jeffrey Lorias, Theo Epsteins, etc, the White Sox gets trashiest organization? Impressive.

The hockey stuff. I feel like the sig/avatar combo you are using now is really similar to a few that the max has used... I don't know.

You make a great case with Loria, but the shittiness doesn't trickle down through as many levels with the Marlins. Reinsdorf, Kenny Williams, Brooks Boyer, Ozzie Guillen, Hawk Harrelson, and Ed Farmer are all some of the most unprofessional in their respective fields.

Well that was unfair really, but supposedly he reneged on an agreement with Bronson Arroyo not to trade him if he signed with Boston. And Czech, as much as I like the White Sox, I'd have to agree with you there.

The Astros got the out. I have to wonder however. There were runners on second and third, two out. Is the difference between Pat Burrell and Ryan Howard really that big? You can get Howard out, he struck out 181 times last year.

It's a poor move considering how Burrell has hit so far this year.

But, then again, Howard really clogs up those basepaths.

Yeah, but it's Woody Williams...he of the 85 mph upstairs fastball. I almost feel compelled to comiserate about the Phillies, though. They should be better than this, huh?

Small aside before I begin, that "throw it back" stuff is irksome. It's not clever or original and it doesn't prove anything.

What's frustrating about this start is that you can't assign blame. Clearly it's more to do with the pitching than the hitting. Whose fault is it that Brett Myers is carrying a 9.39 ERA? Is it Charlie Manuel's fault that the bullpen is subpar? At times like this you'd like to see the manager sacked, but there's not much Manuel could do to improve this bunch. And sacking Gillick is the kind of panic move truly bad organizations make. But there has to be something. If this team doesn't come back they'll sit below the Washington Nationals in the standings.

Last year maybe, this year Burrell's doing better. But it's ten games anyway so that's meaningless. The big picture is that Burrell had a .388 OBP last year, .363 career. He's not an easy out by any means.

They were probably trying to set up a righty-righty situation, but it's way too early in the game for that. Pulling that this early is extreme micromanagement, not to mention pussy managing in general.

Burrell's had a great 15 AB's against Williams, btw.
