razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Can the Braves trade Mark Redman to the Royals for some prospects and cash?
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Geez, I might have to take back my prediction of the Phils going to the WS. They were up 3-0 after the first inning with Bret Myers on the mound. It is now the 4th inning and after a grand slam by Carlos Lee, 5 walks by Myers, a call to the bullpen for Jon Leiber, and a 3-run shot from Ensberg, the 'Stros have taken an 8-3 lead. Guest Smues Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Mark Redman is atrocious, and against the fucking Marlins, which is even worse. Braves down 5 before they've even gone to bat. Yank this shitty pitcher. He has been economical with his pitches, though: one-pitch single and a one-pitch hit batsman to bring Cabrera up. I knew we were in trouble when we signed Mark Redman. I mean, 2006 ALL-STAR MARK REDMAN. 5-0 before we ever got to bat, with Willis on the mound and that nasty bullpen (besides Julio Lugo) ugg. BUT HE'S A LEFTY HE HAS VALUE! But, Redman has/makes more money than you and has attended many more baseball games. Oh crap you're right! Clearly I have been shamed and now realize the error of my ways. I'll wait until I'm more qualified to bash Mark Redman next time. (Like if I win the lotto or something and get season seats!)
treble 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Nice pitching duel in Toronto between Halladay and Bonderman, 1-1 in the 8th. It would be nice if it was on TV here, though.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Sloppy game in Philly continues. 8-6 'Stros in the 5th. Phil Garner just got chased. The HP ump's been giving shitty calls all nite. Roy Oswalt was particularly pissed at a few of em. Then, with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th, runners on 1st and 3rd, Roy stepped off the rubber, toward third and threw over to the base. The HP ump called an erroneous balk. I thought all 5'9" 175 pounds of Roy Oswalt was gonna jump on his ass. I've never seen Roy Oswalt that visibly pissed off. Anyway, a big yelling match ensued and Garner got chased. Roy walked 6, a new career high. I think Lidge might come in for the 6th. God help us all.

Guest Eagle Man Report post Posted April 14, 2007 "Lou, what do you think isn't working--" WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK ISN'T WORKING! LOOK AT THE GODDAMN GAME! Then I bring in a reliever who's throwing 30-40-foot curveballs to boot. I can start to see some of the ways this team lost ballgames.

Thank God for MLB Extra Innings. Looks like both of them are going to start the 10th. Neither of them had 100 pitches through 9 innings. EDIT: Nope, Bonderman was pulled after 9, and Rodney is in. Yum yum.
treble 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 I'm listening to the game on XM, which is better than nothing. Halladay pitched the 10th, but Bonderman's done after 9 innings. I wouldn't be surprised if Halladay at least started the 11th if it goes that far.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 14, 2007 If Houston can pull out the win tonight, it buries the Cubbies in last place where they shall sojourn until 2008.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 And to continue the debacle in Philly, a fan jumped onto the field, broke a tackle and slid into second. When he ran back into left field, other fans started throwing bottles at him. This is great. Oh, and is there any way that the entire Lou Pinella post-game tirade can be posted? I'd...be interested in hearing it.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Jason Smith was bunting, the Tigers knew he was bunting, the entire crowd at Rogers Centre knew he was bunting -- and he still managed a bunt single. Sweet.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 What a win! The Tigers' infield defence costs them another game, with two bunt singles in the tenth leading to a Rios game-winning SF. Halladay picks up the second 10-inning win of his career.
treble 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Thanks Sportsnet, I'd much rather watch a Toronto/Manitoba AHL game. I could understand if they were showing the Raptors game, at least. Both 10 inning wins for Halladay have come against the Tigers.

Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Lots of Single A teams have fun names like that. I like the Modesto Nuts. They rule in my MVP '05 game. And the Jamestown Jammers... who were named for jam. And their logo is a bunch of grapes.

Well, stealing 3rd was his fault (unless he was given the sign to steal, which I don't think he was), and a terrible decision at that. I don't know how Victorino can get blamed for this one. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Porter, besides the fact that I'm going to wager I have/make more money than you and thus have attended, I'd predict, over at least a hundred more professional baseball games alone than you in my young lifetime, I'll simply say that I have only posted two comments about the Phillies on here, so your "constant bashing" tag doesn't fit, buddy. Also, "for no reason"...uh...have you SEEN a Phillies game? Ask Al, although he tends to not jump and lash out at things as quickly as I, even he must admit that the Phillies have one of the worst manager/bullpen combinations in quite some time. So either come up with your own logical arguments, or come up with a better "diss" than to take my rather accepted claims against the 2-7 Phillies, off to yet another abysmal start, and try to counter it by making an actual argument instead of your nonsensical lazy typing. Even though King wrapped this up nicely, I will just say this made me laugh out loud. Good job, mixer guy. Now onto baseball, I'm just glad the White Sox are tentatively 1 game behind Minnesota for the lead. I know it's really early, but after a terrible first week, they're starting to recover a bit. Gaining some form.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Carlos Lee has found his power stroke. 3 homeruns tonite, a solo shot to left, a grand slam to right, and a 400+ footer to dead center in the bottom of the 8th. Good stuff...crazy game.
