Nice play by scheinder to keep it in the zone and take the shot right away. I figured it would be another blocked shot by the Sharks but the diving player actually helped the puck go in the net.

i wouldn't blame hasek for any of detroit's loses this playoff. if he's let in a soft goal or two, he's made 5-10 amazing saves to make up for them.

Game three, if he played like a proper goalie instead of flopping around, Detroit would have had a stranglehold on this series.

 

He's made some great saves, but his flopping around is what going to cost Detroit not winning the cup.

He's still made key saves that CuJo, Legace, Osgood would have let in to kill any momentum we would have had. He's kept us in the game for the most part when our offense was struggling.

the ducks scored on two plays where there should have been penalties. but thats moot. there's no way on vancouver was coming back. even though i picked them to win. they were awful in front on luongo. like columbus blue jackets awful.

Agreed. This is the first time in at least two seasons that I feel confident about who they have in net. Flopping and questionable puck handling aside, Hasek has been making those key saves that Joseph and Legace couldn't/wouldn't make. He's been the difference some nights for sure considering how low scoring this series has been.

They knew what was going on. They played 3 previous pathetic games in this series, and if it wasn't for luck, they'd be down 2-3 now. I hope it's a wakeup call that you can't fuck around in the playoffs. As they saw with Lunqvist's masterful positioning and goaltending tonight nearly stealing this game. And as they'll see vs. a quality opponent in the Semifinal.

 

Dominance should have been established at MSG, and dominance would have been consolidated here if the Sabres played hardworking, prideful hockey.
