Recommended Posts

This is Cena's character........he beats the unbeatable monster cause he's got heart......to bad after this they have no more big monsters for him.

I could see hating that if you don't like logical storylines.

When was the last time Khali ever got a title shot? None that I can recall. So...If your him, why not PUT yourself into title contention by destroying everyone in line ahead of you?

Although I was hoping for Val Venis there.

Raw was borderline awesome tonight, until Khali was revealed as the mysterious backstage assaulter. It was pretty impressive to see Cena somewhat easily hoist Khali up on his shoulders though. I'm actually surprised that Khali hasn't been severely injured yet, damn he's uncoordinated.

Coach squeeling like a bitch was amusing as hell.

I have to admit Khali being the guy is kinda funny. Let's face it, Judgment Day will likely have UT/Batista in a HIAC match or something vicious, so they can get away with this silly Cena/Khali crap until going back to Cena vs. Michaels. I bet Khali doesn't actually job there though, he'll get DQed or something. Or maybe Cena gets DQed.

I swear sometimes Raw just doesn't know when to give it up with a certain feud. Cade/Murdoch vs. the Hardys continues? Oh joy. Look, C & M jobbed at Backlash clean, they admitted they are jobbers tonight, so there is no issue. Just give Haas and Benjamin a shot now. That said, is it just me or is Shelton fucking something up every time he's on Raw of late?

I was really enjoying this Raw tonight until the Umaga/RVD match. Once RVD jobbed out there with nary a Shane or Vince or ANYONE run in....this show went straight to hell. The finish there was at least a bit different, albeit illogical.

I'm shocked that you really expected RVD to continue to look credible when his contract expires in 3 months and he hasn't re-signed. He's getting the Jericho/WCW treatment.

How exactly didn't RVD look credible against Umaga? He's had the best back and forth match with Umaga since Cena.

Khali winning the title would be my biggest markout moment for the entire decade.

More then Orton's title win? Or Test's...Hardcore title win?

Randall's stretch from losing the IC belt to losing to HHH was so fucked up that I didn't care. And he ended up being the worst face ever.

Khali can win the belt and be this dominant guy and people will wonder "Gee, who can possibly take this guy out?" And then HHH comes back. Wham, bam, pedigree.

Here is the aspect of the treatment of RVD that I don't totally understand. Yes, he hasn't signed a new deal. But he's involved right now in what very well could be the top program in the company (no, this Cena/Khali crap isn't exactly important). I didn't even mind Van Dam jobbing tonight, but in the fashion he did? No run in of any kind to show that Vince is hell bent on screwing over the ECW Originals? I mean correct me if I'm wrong but the endgame of this basically has to be an Original kicking Vince's ass for the title, or else this is a colossal waste of time. Cause I don't see what else you can do with it.

When RVD's contract was up in 2004 he was on Smackdown and doing a grand total of jack shit. It seems curious that they would involve a guy whose contract is up in a major angle like this Vince/ECW thing, not to mention give him the 10:00 segment on Raw and then discuss the match on and off the rest of the show.

This could go one of two ways in my view: 1. RVD signs and then headlines ONS and beats the fuck out of Vince to take back the ECW title. That would be quite the surreal match, and dare I say would be the wildly flamboyant, insane title win Van Dam SHOULD have had last year at ONS. 2. RVD doesn't sign a deal and they still go with him vs. Vince and use it as an excuse to once and for all bury RVD and the Originals, and probably even work in an insulting finish where Shane hits Van Dam with the Van Terminator on his way out.

Just got back from the show. Crowd was pretty into it. Match of the Night goes to Edge/Orton, IMO. Crowd was not happy with Michaels not coming out, and then getting treated to mostly filler. Kennedy got a good response, now all he has to do is not get seriously injured.

Dark match main event was changed due to storyline. It was supposed to be Orton vs. Cena, but after the show ended, Shane ran down and said he wanted some gold, and made the match against Cena. Since Cena was knocked out, Shane went for the pin 2 or 3 times, then elbow dropped him, it went back and forth, Cena won with the FU. Vince came down, teased getting in the ring, but decided to take Shane to the back, until Cena got on the mike and called Vince out for wearing the doo-rag. Vince teased getting in te ring, but threw shane back in, and he got FU'ed..this happened again, and Vince backed up to the stage and left.

Pretty decent after-ppv show.

Having to hold back an HBK match and

holding back another Edge match and

holding back Orton until they realize then need him again no matter what

and holding back Kennedy until WM, which is against MITB rules but nobody cares

I had NO CLUE they were going to pick a really TALL guy who sucks.

No clue.

So against the usual wwe style.

Vince adds prestige to another title lineage, great. Him and Justin Credible.

I wonder if they can hold off on the Lashley win till ONS. It's basically rehashing the Cena playbook from the last 2 years: Celebs and handicap matches.

So it was a title match? Or, no? I wonder if they'll talk about Vince tossing Shane to Cena next week?

Please don't post like that, its awfully annoying.

I don't see what the big deal is about RVD losing to Umaga tonight. Umaga's been built up as a unstoppable and unbeatable wrestler (although he's lost some of that fire recently) and Van Dam held his own for over ten minutes and showed signs of actually having Umaga's number. I think this might be Vince's way of trying to reasure RVD to re-sign.

YES.

Khali needs to go over Cena, Umaga needs to turn against the McMahons... and then they can run my dream feud of "THE UNMOVABLE BARRICADE" THE GREAT KHALI vs "THE UNSTOPPABLE FORCE" UMAGA. Vince McMahon hyping up the new champion Khali, Armando is a amped up face manager for the Samoan Bulldozer.

It would rule.

Wrong. The rules have been established for the past two years and this year, that the rights to the title shot at their own choosing is good for exactly one year. Countless times, we've been told "The contract is good for exactly one year against any champion of their choosing". Which means Kennedy can rightfully cash in his shot at WM24...exactly a year later (actually, 3 days earlier). It's not holding him back. It's showing a heel using his head for once. Edge waited til the easiest time to strike. RVD did it on his turf. Kennedy, wants to cash it in on the biggest stage. That assures him of a main event slot and a main event paycheck. That's called being intelligent.

In kayfabe Kennedy is probably not worried about the paycheck, but yes, it's in his character to want to shine on the biggest stage, and what better than the main event of Wrestlemania. The question is which title is he going to challenge for?

Whichever show doesn't have a lock'd up program heading to WM. Since we've seen that he can easily get over as a face, they won't be forced to turn someone face to challenge Kennedy. Although, I'd rather he just stick to his current deal. I just worry they will have the Rumble winner challenge for the same title as Kennedy making it a three way dance after all this time of Kennedy waiting it out. Hopefully whomever is carrying the title for whatever brand isn't a slapped together program. We should see something with a background leading into his decision.

You pretty get it, but when it comes to RVD loosing a match, a lot of people on these boards get upset about it and complain about how its horrible he lost even though he had a good match, and most of the time, people forget that having a good, entertaining match is what its all about.

Did Khali kill Estrada too? Where was he?

I believe they said something about Lashley taking him out at Backlash and he was still recovering. He's really been shoved aside in this entire McMahon/Umaga-Lashley thing.

I think a PPV match with Khali will be a huge test for Cena. He hasn't had a bad match in a very long time. It could be argued it's due to his opponents, but I happen to think Cena's just as good, if not better then everyone he's faced.

If Cena can pull a watchable to good match out of Khali, then it will have been established that Cena can indeed walk on fucking water.

I was just thinking about this. Will Orton/Edge/Michaels get their revenge next week against Khali, or will everything just be forgotten?

Taker got some decent watchable stuff out of Khali. Cena bumps and sells better than Taker... and has better timing with his comebacks. So... it should be decent maybe even borderline good depending on how much they layout in the match. Cena might just get a better match with Khali than Candido did.

Khali is limited in the ring they need to take advantage of him while he is over and not totally exposed. I would not be surprised to see Khali get this year's "Give Cena a chance to chase the title for a couple of months" title reign.

Is Lillian Garcia gone?

As much heat as John Cena got as Champ last year at One Night Stand can you imagine if Vince walked into Hammerstein as ECW Champ? I would fear for his health as he walked to the ring. The fans are so close I can imagine someone busting out with a shank and catching Vince in the ribs as he is walking to the ring.

So, Edge/Orton, pretty damn good. Interesting to note that they both just played their characters, and the crowd got behind Randy. That may have a lot to do with Edge, to be fair, but maybe it'll keep Orton's neck off the chopping block.

What do you guys say, somewhere in the three-snowflake range on that one? One of the better TV matches in a while, last week's "epic" notwithstanding.

Edge/Orton was great. Nice heat, considering they're both heels. I was waiting months for this match to finally happen.

As much as I hate Khali, I did enjoy the Cena beatdown.
