TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 From the freak injury files.... May have been mentioned in last week's TWIB, but Carl F'ing Pavano may be facing TJ surgery
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 yup, I mentioned the Pavano thing in last week's thread. I know both haven't produced much of anything but I still get points for saying that Clement would be the bigger bargain of the two and out-produce Pavano. TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 I didn't think he'd light the world on fire in the American League after one or two nice NL seasons, but who could have predicted this rash of rediculous injuries? The guy is an all out laughing stock.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 he had a history of injuries before his one great season in Florida. Looking over the whole Clemens thing I'm kind of happy to see the Red Sox didn't go offering him the world. They only offered him $18mill and at the time they wanted him to start it would have been prorated to only $10mill. I could have lived with that as a fan because I still want them to have financial flexability at the trade deadline. It appears the Yanks gave him $28mill which will prorate into $18mill for the half season. According to a couple articles I've read this morning it also appears the Yanks may have to pay another $8mill in luxury tax alone on this deal, which could make Clemens cost $26mill total. That's $6mill a month (not counting October because who knows if they get there). Far too much for a pither that could end up being only good for 5 or 6innings at best now. Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 Did anyone see the thing on Baseball Tonight last night with peoples' opinions on Bonds, separated by race? I was wondering what's the reason for that? Are white people evil racists? Are black people retarded?
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 I'll bet he never missed games with the Marlins for a hurt ass or broken ribs from a car accident that he didn't tell the team about.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 Im debating on watching the Os game at 12:30 since theres nothing else on TV. Somebody stop me! HELP! Ive only 2 more days to go for the full week..ahh and speaking of hurt pitchers, the somebody that told me about Loewen being out for the year told me that Wright is also out for the year. Yay..2 pitchers out..although Wright being out neither surprises nor disapoints me in any way. Bring on Garrett Olson and Hayden Penn!

Guest Richard McBeef Report post Posted May 7, 2007 Phillies right-hander Freddy Garcia was injured Sunday night when he ran into an equipment cart that had stopped along the warning track in San Francisco's ballpark. Garcia bruised and scraped his left shin in the collision, raising question as to whether he will be able to make his scheduled start Monday night in the opener of a three-game series at Arizona. Garcia, who was running to try to catch a fly ball in center field, toppled onto the cart used by the grounds crew and was clearly in pain. He was quickly carted off the field on the vehicle. vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 How did he win it over JJ Hardy? JJ Hardy didn't win NL Player of April, either, did he? I love JJ Hardy. I also hate JJ Hardy, but mostly, I think he looks like a respectable young man with a little pop in his bat and pretty good range.

vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 Ryan Freel just made a 'Derek Jeter' like play. He straight up did a faceplant into the crowd chasing a foul pop from Lance Berkman. Supposedly he caught the ball, but the ball has not yet been located. However, Berkman was called out, so the play was still straight up ridiculous.

vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 For the second time in two innings, Ryan Freel has straight up bellyflopped into the seats along third base. This time, for no apparent reason as he had no play on the ball whatsoever. I dare someone to find a scrappier player than Ryan Freel.
MFer 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 So Joel Zumaya's gonna be out 12 weeks. That really sucks especially considering Fernando Rodney's been pitching like ass so far this season. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2863225
