Guest Queen Leelee Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Brandon Phillips is a fine player, but not fangirl worthy. At least not yet. Eric Milton is injured and won't pitch Sunday. It's possible OMG HOMER BAILEY could pitch. But, it will probably be some peon.
Hawk 34 Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I'm not going Sunday. Way too hot for a day game. The Reds pitching is so terrible that I have a hard time deciding which game to pick. I'll probably go Saturday. The starting pitching has been quite well this season (Harang continues to be criminally ignored) but yes, the pen is atrocious. You're best off arriving to the game around the 7th inning.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I've got tickets to Phillies/Cubs on Saturday. As an aside, don't bother trying to cherrypick wins. Baseball's too random for that. I've seen AJ Burnett get hammered and Ramon Ortiz win on trips to MLB games.
Guest Queen Leelee Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 You say that like Burnett is much better than Ortiz.
Bored Posted May 10, 2007 Author Report Posted May 10, 2007 I'll be going to the A's/Indians game on Saturday. With all the A's injuries one lucky fan will get to play centerfield for them so cross your fingers for me.
Vern Gagne Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 The Twins need offensive help in the worse way.
Guest George's Box Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 The Twins need offensive help in the worse way. But not the worst way, so I guess things aren't so bad after all!
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 For the record chase department, Ichiro Suzuki is on pace to break the single season record for putouts by an outfielder.
treble Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Bases loaded, 1 out. Frank Thomas strikes out, Troy Glaus picked-off of first, no runs scored. God.
Superfly Snuka Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Our friends from Toronto are not going to be happy tonight.
CanadianChris Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Our friends from Toronto are not going to be happy tonight. That's nothing new these days.
Boon Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Our friends from Toronto are not going to be happy tonight. A six run third- I'd imagine not. 7-0 after three.
CanadianChris Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 After these last two starts, and considering the way this season has gone, I'm expecting the announcement that Halladay will be shut down and undergoing season-ending surgery any day now.
cbacon Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Of all the years for me to buy season tickets >:C
World's Worst Man Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I was thinking the exact same thing about Halladay. Wouldn't surprise me a bit.
Boon Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I think I heard something along the lines of the Red Sox in this series have seen every Blue Jay pitcher except Burnett, who starts tomorrow.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Thursday May 24, Ernie Harwell will do the television broadcast of the Detroit Tigers as their regular broadcaster is attending his son's graduation. If you have access to FSN Detroit, I implore you to watch this game as it's perhaps your last opportunity to hear one of the game's greatest broadcasters.
CanadianChris Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Really? Wow, I hope that one makes it onto Extra Innings. I remember watching a Jays game in Detroit where Ernie Harwell was the guest of the Jays commentators, and he called a little bit of the game. What an amazing voice.
treble Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I think Gibbons is going to be fired. I don't think it's his fault, but this is getting ridiculous.
CanadianChris Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I think Gibbons is going to be fired. I don't think it's his fault, but this is getting ridiculous. I think you're probably right. I can see Ernie Whitt taking over soon.
Vern Gagne Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 The Twins need offensive help in the worse way. But not the worst way, so I guess things aren't so bad after all! Thank you Czech. The Twins need another bat in the lineup.

I can see Ernie Whitt taking over soon. I think they'll lose tomorrow, too, since Kazmir is starting. They should be able to take at least 1 over the weekend, though.
Guest Queen Leelee Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 If you get through the weekend, and lose to Jae Seo, then worry about surpassing Baltimore's streak.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Im not the least bit optimistic about the Os winning any games up in Boston.. Excuse me for not being optimistic just because the Os swept the D-Rays..YAY..throw a freaking parade downtown baltimore! 3 in a row! .500 is back in sight at 17-18 and they're in 2nd place only 7 games back..yay!
vivalaultra Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 The Astros optioned Chris Burke back to AAA to clear a spot for Rick 'Double Balls' White who is back from the 15-day DL. It sucks for Burke that in 2001, he was the Astros 1st round draft pick and the 2nd baseman of the future but got relegated to left field because of Biggio and then, when he got a chance to play everyday in CF this season, went into a 'team-sponsored' slump and was the most easily replaceable because Hunter Pence was mashing in AAA. I swear, if Burke was able to play everyday at 2nd base, he'd be a perennial All-Star contender for years to come. He has nothing left to prove at AAA, but I'd hate to see the Astros trade him.
treble Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Hey, Roy Halladay might have appendicitis. Why not? EDIT: He does. Out 4-6 weeks.
CanadianChris Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Fantastic. Next we'll be hearing about a team-wide outbreak of chicken pox or something.
Annabelle Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Hey, Roy Halladay might have appendicitis. Why not? EDIT: He does. Out 4-6 weeks. i knew something had to be up with him, he's pitched horribly the past two games.
treble Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 The team plane is going to crash. Take out everyone, it'll be quicker that way.
