UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Cor Von's gonna eat a GTS soon.
Downhome Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 And with that, smarks all over the internet instantly decide to buy the PPV.
Hawk 34 Posted June 20, 2007 Author Report Posted June 20, 2007 WOW. They are actually pulling the trigger on it? I might actually buy the fucking PPV now. DH is right. WWE just did this to add another 100 buys for sunday.
RepoMan Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 As suggested by a few earlier, they pulled the trigger on Punk-Beniot way too early.
Mecha Mummy Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Say what, Joey? The ECW Title dates back to ECW? How insightful! Obviously its obvious Welcome to the department of redundancy department. Also, oh man I am almost remotely tempted to buy Vengeance now.
Downhome Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 WOW. They are actually pulling the trigger on it? I might actually buy the fucking PPV now. See, I told ya so!
Breakpack Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Gah,an accident gets the best pop of the night. Is that what the bloodthrsty fans are here for???Oh yeah,we are
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Oh man, Scott Keith is probably jerking off with five hands right now. This is his Warrior/Hogan.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Will they go the respect match route with them putting on a good match or will someone turn heel after a loss?
trackc53 Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 As suggested by a few earlier, they pulled the trigger on Punk-Beniot way too early. not if this becomes a hot feud. what other feud right now will have 2 faces going at it? Will this be a way to turn Benoit heel?
JN News Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Chris Benoit vs. CM Punk at Vengeance, I see. That, along with seeing Batista job to Edge for the 3rd time, will make me buy this PPV.

UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 "what other feud right now will have 2 faces going at it?" How dare you snub Kelly Kelly and Brooke.
Hawk 34 Posted June 20, 2007 Author Report Posted June 20, 2007 WWE might just Angle-Joe'd this one. This was the biggest match to appeal to this specific niche of fans and they just hot shot it to PPV with no build other then a face to face at the close. I'm all for this match. I just hate that it won't mean anything going into it but it could just as well serve to set up a bitter feud with these two. Also, yeah, that was a scary ass bump Punk took. He's taken many drops on his head, so he's used to it but not always at that angle with the force someone like Cor Von does it with.
Perfection Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Watching the replay of that bad bump, its an absolute miracle Punk didn't get seriously hurt on that one. I'd be willing to wager than another inch or fraction of a second delay in being able to turn in over, he could have broken his neck. Scary watching that to be honest with you. Its a shame the crowd is so dead, that should have been a decent moment between punk and benoit.

Will this be a way to turn Benoit heel? I'd prefer Beniot going over Burke, having them fued a while. Eventually Punk chases Beniot for a while.

It was ECW,now if the exact same show happened on RAW,the crowd would be all over it.It would even be a RAW moment
The Truthiness Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 I wouldn't say "Angle/Joe'ed" the Benoit/Punk match, it's a World title match, that concludes a final 4 tourney. It makes perfect sense.

It'd be senseless to do a feud with them right now.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 OK...opinion time: Who do you give the belt to: Benoit or Punk?
JN News Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 OK...opinion time: Who do you give the belt to: Benoit or Punk? Definately Chris Benoit. The Crippler could bring some meaning back to the ECW Championship.
Hawk 34 Posted June 20, 2007 Author Report Posted June 20, 2007 OK...opinion time: Who do you give the belt to: Benoit or Punk? It depends on what the direction of the company and the subsequent feud will be. I'd give it to Benoit. Let Punk chase it and after building that winning the title is that important, he does it when it would mean much more. It could easily stretch for awhile if you involved Burke, Cor Von, Nitro and perhaps someone else to flesh out the face/tweener side.
Breakpack Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 OK...opinion time: Who do you give the belt to: Benoit or Punk? I think Benoit will win.CM Punk:have him chase.Im thinking Benoit will turn bad somehow. They don't want Punk bad (remember New Breed?),but need a money making feud.
Thanks for the Fish Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 ECW is already too short on faces for a heel turn. There really isn't need for the Punk vs Benoit feud to happen right now, especially given the Vegeance card. Benoit vs Cor Von or Benoit vs Burke would have been fine.
cabbageboy Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 Who is to say that Burke and Cor Von don't feud with each other with someone turning face there? Anyway, having seen nearly all of Punk's OVW work I can say with some confidence what we'll see on Sunday. Benoit will win a tough match and become champion, then offer his hand again to Punk, but then Punk will refuse this time and walk away. The odd trick that OVW managed to pull off (under Heyman) was that Punk did this disrespectful act to Brent Albright but somehow was the face in that feud with Albright becoming more of the enraged heel.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 IF Punk wins, this is around the 1 year anniversary of his debut on ECW.
WukenBloodstar Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 DH is right. WWE just did this to add another 10 buys for sunday. Fixed for truth.
