MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Not really a surprise. Bedard is nasty. Tonight we saw the Bedard that was a dark horse candidate for the Cy Young at the start of the season. Hes been pitching well lately too after the rough start. Bedard and Guthrie have been pitching great for the last month plus, its been the rest of the rotation and the bullpen thats sucked. get out the broom for a sweep tomorrow! According to PTI Scott Boras wants the World Series to go to a best of 9 format, with games 1 and 2 on a neutral site. No. No. No. Fuck you Boras. The Neutral site thing is an interesting idea..but yeah the 9 games part sucks.
treble Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Hey, the Jays trimmed Boston's lead to single digits. Baby steps.
Dobbs 3K Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Oh, I didn't realize that Scott Boras was the commissioner now. Fuck Boras. 9 games would be idiotic. 7 is enough.
CanadianChris Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Hey, the Jays trimmed Boston's lead to single digits. Baby steps. And if they win tonight, they pass the Twins in the WC standings. Every little bit helps.
vivalaultra Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 The most ridiculous delivery in the history of baseball It ain't the gyroball, but it's still pretty nifty.
sfaJack Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 If you take away the Yankees' recent 11-1 stretch, they have a worse winning percentage than the Royals.
Brett Favre Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 If you take away the recent 1-7 stretch, they have a better percentage!
Cheech Tremendous Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 If you take away all their losses, they have the best record in baseball.
Brett Favre Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 . Well at least we have Wang going tonight. And maybe to stop the slide the Yankees are very interested in SHEA HILLENBRAND! I guess we could use some fights.
Cheech Tremendous Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 . Well at least we have Wang going tonight. And maybe to stop the slide the Yankees are very interested in SHEA HILLENBRAND! I guess we could use some fights. Predicted that one about 3 weeks ago. I wonder if he'll call Brian Cashman a faggot.
Brett Favre Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Brian Cashman has been in love with him for a while.
Cheech Tremendous Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Have fun. Shea's a real class act.
treble Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 So Frank Thomas hits his 500th home run... in a game that's not on TV here. Smart idea, guys. At least pickup the Twins feed.
Dobbs 3K Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 So is that enough to get Thomas into the Hall at this point?
Cheech Tremendous Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Thomas is definitely in. Black Ink: Batting - 21 (97) (Average HOFer ≈ 27) Gray Ink: Batting - 202 (37) (Average HOFer ≈ 144) HOF Standards: Batting - 60.5 (27) (Average HOFer ≈ 50) HOF Monitor: Batting - 184.0 (49) (Likely HOFer > 100) Won two MVPs, had an impact in several pennant races, was one of the most feared hitters of the 90s and is still an active, contributing player well after his prime. His most similar batters are in or will be in.
World's Worst Man Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 The game is on Rogers digital cable 401.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 So is that enough to get Thomas into the Hall at this point? As others mentioned he's already in. Hell he was going to be in even if he had retired as a White Sox back in 2005, instead of going to Oakland in 2006 or Toronto in 2007.
CanadianChris Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 I'm annoyed it was a weekday afternoon game. It's the only way I wasn't going to get to see it. At least I didn't have to watch them blow two 4-run leads. And yes, as others have mentioned, Thomas was a HoF with or without 500 HRs.
treble Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 The game is on Rogers digital cable 401. Yeah, Cogeco sucks. It's kinda funny, though, Thomas' 500th was going to be a big PR thing for them this year and it happens in a game that they don't even have their own TV guys doing.

MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 holy shit! Gibbons actually did something for once! 2 RBI double to give the Os a 5-4 lead! and Patterson scores from 2nd on a throw in to left by Posada on a steal attempt..6-4 in the 7th, 4 runs in the 7th! wow
CanadianChris Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 OK, time to call the game. No sense anyone getting hurt out there.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 OK, time to call the game. No sense anyone getting hurt out there. isnt the rule if the game is called bfore an inning ends it reverts to the last complete inning?
CanadianChris Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 OK, time to call the game. No sense anyone getting hurt out there. isnt the rule if the game is called bfore an inning ends it reverts to the last complete inning? No, the rule is that the game is suspended and completed at a later date. Rule 4.12(a)(5). Doesn't matter anyway, they're starting again.
CanadianChris Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 WTF is Parrish still doing in the game? He's lucky the Yankees haven't taken the lead back already. One of the worst outings I've seen all year.

One of the worst outings I've seen all year. Its 8-6 yanks now..although they really should have called play before Jeter got that basehit.
CanadianChris Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Yeah, it wasn't raining that hard when they called it the first time.
CanadianChris Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Biggio went 3-for-4 to get his 3,000th hit tonight.
