Broward83 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2007 How exactly does the SuperSim work?
Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2007 It brings you to what sort of looks like the Score Summary screen. There's a field in the upper right (like the ones you see on TV drive summaries, with the little colored bars for runs, passes, and penalty yards gained/lost), a listing of the play summary (1-10 HB #3 runs for 2 yards, 2-7 QB #9 passes incomplete to WR #81, etc.) at the bottom, and along the very bottom is the same score bar as there is when you're in game. You can sim one play, or select a certain spot to sim to (either the end of the current possession, the end of the current quarter, or the end of the game; you might be able to sim to the end of the first half as well but I haven't checked). iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2007 And to add, if you get any positive yards you have a holding call sending you back. You really think this is an issue? I usually turn the penalty sliders up because they call so few of them. Honestly, All-American's not very hard after a season or two.

I usually turn the penalty sliders up because they call so few of them. Honestly, All-American's not very hard after a season or two. It's more of a Madden thing than anything. I agree there was hardly any penalties in 07, except for anything blatant.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2007 Are the dynasty quirks fixed yet? I'm still playing '07 and the thing that annoys me most is that there are never enough upsets so you end up with like 4 undefeated teams and 10 one-loss teams every season. The fact that no one ever schedules a real team the first week of the season and you end up with something like Texas vs. Tulsa as the game of the week is mildly annoying too. So does anyone who bought '08 actually have an answer to this yet? To give you an example of what I'm talking about, with two weeks left in the season (and a lot of teams already done for the year), there are still 7 undefeated teams this season on my dynasty including #18 Vanderbilt and unranked Colorado. The Colorado one's especially ridiculous since they've been in contention in the North every year (it's my division, I ought to know) and are only 3 years removed from a national championship appearance. I'm coming off a road win over another undefeated team in (previously #5) Texas A&M and I've got Colorado at home, so there's a pretty good chance I'll take them out, but still. It's really ridiculous how good of a season you have to have to move up the rankings in any meaningful way. If this bug's been fixed, it would definitely be a positive. lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2007 I'm just amazed at the people who suck so bad at the game that they have to play it on Varisty. I played the game at a buddy's house and hes talking about how hard the game is, so I check the settings and its on Varsity. I moved it up to All-American and beat Notre Dame by 60 with Michigan. I haven't had a chance to play on Heisman but I hope they actually stopped the cheapness of the AI and replaced it with better skill and playcalling

I think I played maybe 5 games on varsity when I got my first version of the game like 6 years ago. All you have to do to roll on All-American is just fire up non-stop hail maries. They get caught like 90% of the time. Even Heisman can get pretty easy if you're playing a bad team. I have several games a season that I win by 30 or 40 points and my biggest win was a 72-0 win over Kansas State with Nebraska.

With 2 weeks to go in my second year, myself (SU), Michigan, Texas, USC and Boise State are the only unbeaten teams. EDIT: And by the start of the bowls, just myself and USC were undefeated; everyone else had fallen.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2007 Two weeks left there are 5 undefeateds. Boise State just can't get a break. They are undefeated and only ranked 12th. The others are: West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma and my UCLA.
Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2007 And just like that, I can't play a god damn game because the disc is unreadable. Now I've got to call EA tech support and bitch.
Smartly Pretty 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2007 Am I the only one getting screwed by rankings? As Rutgers I'm the only undefeated team in the nation, but I'm ranked #4, behind WVU(when they were #1!), who I beat. Out of conference schedule included Boise State and UF. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2007 They don't really respect small-time programs. Outside of 2006 Rutgers did nothing worth a damn. Look at Boise State, 3 years of really good seasons and all they could get was like a #8 ranking.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2007 In my first season I was the only undefeated team left with 4 weeks left in the season.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2007 They keep changing the name of my running back. Every game, he has a different name when I am using him. But the announcers still call him his correct name and the stats have his real name too. Weird.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2007 In my first season I was the only undefeated team left with 4 weeks left in the season. Did you do anything weird with your schedule (like say loading up your NC slate with USC, Oklahoma, LSU, and Boise)? Because if not, that would be really good news that the game actually mixes it up randomly a little bit instead of just having 2 or 3 major conference undefeateds every season. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2007 I doubt beating Boise State would impress anyone.

I was Oklahoma for the season and played the schedule that they have for the year. USC suffered two losses and I played Florida for the national title. Rutgers finished the season with 1 loss and ranked number 4, behind Michigan (2), Flordia (3). Florida finished with two losses but I beat them on a last minute field goal so they didn't penalize them to bad.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2007 After spending two days playing the game while visiting family, I didn't like anything about this game. The presentation is ho hum, the games are blah, the graphics with the guys looking like blocks with legs is very Madden and very disappointing. Overall I just didn't enjoy it one bit. As a first time game on a new system I guess it would work but I'm happier with my PS2 NCAA Football game. Oh well, maybe it'll be better in two or three years. Right now though, another game that did not convince me to buy the system. Had everything I hate about Madden and nothing I liked about the College Football series. Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 I still say NCAA 2004 is the best game in the series thus far.

Personally, I am about to buy last years for 5 bucks. Its the same game, and since I don't give a shit about trick plays and stuff like that, I will be able to get basically the same game for alot less.
Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 Hope this isn't an indication of what Madden08 is going to be like, from the feedback I've read over the course of this thread. Anyone played/seen a demo yet?
Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2007 Demo won't be until the weekend, probably. And when examining my NCAA 08 disc under the old desk lamp, I noticed a little...inconsistency, I guess you could call it. Like a part of it wasn't burned properly, it's sort of like this (black's burned, white's unburned): Anybody else's disc have this? It's right along the edge, it's sort of a bitch to see unless you've got the light angled just so.

I was totally unimpressed by it in every way possible. I'm about to track down NCAA Football 2005 since I'm told the Heisman mode was better in that version. Plus it'll be like 3 bucks at this point. J.B. Buzzkill 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2007 I love using the big power running backs now that the highlight stick was implemented. Kyle Bell from Colo St. is a fucking beast in this game.
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2007 Basically, the PS3 version is shit, but I guess the 360 version runs at a faster rate, and has all of the new quirks that they added to the game... Either way with sports games you are paying full price for a roster update, minor additions because since EA has the rights to both pro and college football, they don't have any competition to make grand changes to a game
Broward83 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 So..anyone able to get their school moved up into a bigger conference yet?
Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 I moved Middle Tennessee State from the Sun Belt to Conference USA... I'll probably be getting an offer from the ACC to move Syracuse, but since the field & jerseys will still say Big East on them I won't do it...I'll just wait until an interesting team from the ACC offers me a job and then take that. Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 The pass defense in this game is still fucking ludicrous. Even after messing with the sliders. It's so close to being good...I mean, the corners & safeties really do bite on play-action passes every now and then. Oh wait, sorry; only the player's defenders bite on play-action passes. And when they do, if they're in zone coverage they forget where the fuck they're supposed to be zone covering and just stand there (this is fun when it's the safeties and anything 15+ yards over the middle is a touchdown). If they're in man coverage, well their ass is grass, the receiver's got a 10 yard "step" on them that they can't recover from. And let's not forget that there's a 33% chance of having them "bite on the PA fake" on plays that aren't play-action.
J.B. Buzzkill 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 So..anyone able to get their school moved up into a bigger conference yet? Got Colo St. moved up to the Big XII (replacing Kansas). It's Division I Football, after all. It ain't intramurals. It amazes me how EA completely half asses on the uniforms. Georgia Tech doesn't use the Titans # font. CSU doesn't use FSU's font anymore. They use fucking regular block fonts. Minor bitch on my part, but it still drives me nuts.
