Seriously though, if I decide to buy the 360 version, it's going to take alot for me to get used to playing a RE game on anything other than the Wii.

I don't want a 360.. and if I got a PS3 it wouldn't be for a long, LONG time... if this isn't making it on the Wii, then watching the trailer is just going to make me want to play it even more, so I guess I'll steer clear for now. =\

You've gotta watch it. If you thought RE4 looked great, this is way better. This is the sort of thing everyone meant when they've said "next gen graphics" for this group of systems. And wow, that's a huge hoard of people as well.

 

And not that I care, but seriously...I can't believe they've made a game where a white guy goes around running from, and killing, rabid, murderous black people. It's a non-issue for me, but you know good and well that sooner or later someone is going to really cause a stir over it.

 

If only we could have Wii controls with those graphics.

You know how so many people guessed that Dead Rising was the culprit behind alot of 360s failing because rendering so many people was taxing on the system.

Saw this on Xbox live a few hours ago, can't wait for it - looks like Resident Evil 4 on crack. Sure wish I knew where they were going with the Story though.

Looks great. But like others have said, I would love it on the Wii. The controls were just outstanding. I'm sure we'll get a scaled down port or spin-off, which is fine by me if it looks better than RE4 or even as good as it. I'll likely pick this up for the 360 until then.

I'd say they threw Chris to lions in that trailer to really give off the sense of being cornered in. I'm sure it doesn't get that hard but it was my initial "wow" factor. Hopefully they'll make the game for Wii with RE4 graphics. They were fine for me and I think most of the Wii fanboys will be more forgiving to unspectacular graphics than the Xbox360/ PS3 scensters.

It isn't going to happen. There's too much of a difference from the PS3/360 to be able to port a game down to the Wii easily. That's why the Wii is getting a spinoff instead of the series.

Have you played RE4? The controls aren't pointless - they're infinitely intuitive compared to the "regular" experience.

I don't know how anyone could claim that the "waggle" controls are pointless in a shooting game. You're using the wiimote to point at the part of the screen where you want to aim. You can move faster and more precise than you can with an analog stick. It's not as frustrating and is much more fun.

Well, aren't they like Voodoo Zombies? Some guy was doing something to a person kneeling down, then saw Chris appear, so legged it. That person then changed and attacked Chris. Be interesting to find out what Chris found out about Umbrella in the x amount of years since the first one.

Don't get me wrong, I love zombies, but I like the idea of having something different to fight a la RE 4. They're still relentless killing machines, but much more versatile and dangerous since they're not rotting and undead.

Gameplay takes place in urban cities, small hamlets, wooded rural settings, shopping malls and other such locations. Four players take control of the four main characters of the game, "The Survivors", who subsequently play through the levels fighting off the Infected, which are humans who have been infected with a mutated form of rabies. Each level has the players fighting towards a goal, such as escaping by helicopter. (The helicopter has to be called in by radio. During the final wait for rescue, players must face a final onslaught of the infected.)

 

There will be four scenarios with around five maps each in the first release of Left 4 Dead.

 

It's going to come out initially on PC (presumably through Steam), but a 360 version will come out soon after ("Q4 2007").

I really liked RE4, I really did. I guess I just prefer Zombies. Thats why I really liked Dead Rising, depite it's ridiculous difficulty.

It was online in Japan, but they pulled that aspect from the Europe release since the PS2 online service wasn't being used. Though, it probably wasn't being used as there was like 3 games available for it and slightly laggy.

I just did some checking. Apparently all servers for RE: Outbreak File #2 are out of comission, but the servers for the first game are still up and running. Wierd!

No, they're not. Like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, or goddamn near every Wii title, the controls wear off from "FUCKING AWESOME." to plain annoying in less than half an hour. I picked up RE4 for my Wii, played it, then set the remote down, and traded the game in to GameStop because it was better on the PS2/GC and I had no fucking want to travel through it for the sixth fucking time.

 

Also traded my wii in, because outside of party games, which I have zero interest in, the wii doesn't bring anything new to gaming outside a barely upgraded gamecube with a white case and a gimmicky damn controller.

 

I swear to god Capcom said RE5 had zombies in it.
