Guest RyechnaiaSobaka Report post Posted December 3, 2007 Gammons is saying that a Cabrera deal to the Angels would be Howie Kendrick, Jeff Mathis, either Nick Adenhart/Ervin Santana and another prospect. Marlins fans are, in a word, livid. I think this is going to make a lot of people very unhappy if it goes through. Myself included. The Marlins have fans left? Elijah Dukes might get traded to Washington (possibly for Chad Cordero). They're building a nice young team. Source? I would suspect that with the Rays signing Troy Percival and the Nats trading for Lastings Milledge, this one is dead. Elijah Dukes might get traded to Washington. They're building a nice young team. Dukes is a piece of shit. As a human being, I mean. He's alright at baseball. Anyway, I didn't mean a top prospect for Burnett. I was talking about maybe two guys at a lower level. Maybe Clippard and some throw-in. I think the Quentin trade was a bad deal for the Diamondbacks. The Quentin trade was made because Justin Upton took over the right field job. Quentin is expendable. I know why they traded him, but they could have gotten something for him other than a low-A guy. Apparently the D-backs might also get a pitcher out of it, which would even it out. I don't know where Dukes would play on the Nats. They're saying they might put Kearns in CF, Milledge in RF, and Pena in LF. Where's Dukes go? CF? Then somebody else has to go, which one assumes would not be Pena after how long Bowden coveted him from his time with the Reds. Milledge, maybe they should try to spin him for pitching or something but apparently the whole reason why the Nats were able to get him is because other teams don't value him as a CF anymore. By the way, wasn't the plan to try Dmitri Young in LF next year? I guess he's playing first base, so Nick Johnson - if he's ever healthy - will go to the bench. treble 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 I don't think the Jays will trade Burnett, at least not before the season starts. I'm 99% sure he's going to opt out at the end of the season, anyway, though, so if the Yankees want to trade Matsui for him, I'm all for it.

The more I think about it, the more such a trade might make sense IF the Blue Jays were able to trade somebody else to bring in some young pitching. Obviously Adam Lind comes to mind, but Reed Johnson should probably be made available too as I believe they just re-signed Matt Stairs this off-season and it's not like he can play anywhere else. Maybe first base if he had to, but Frank Thomas definitely can't play the field.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 Boston pretty much pulled out and is focusing on Danny Haren. I don't know why the Yankees would put Hughes on the table now.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 Well, indications are that Elijah Dukes is heading to the Nationals for a PTBNL. Obviously not Chad Cordero. Pretty much the definition of a high risk, high reward move.

NYU 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 Boston pretty much pulled out and is focusing on Danny Haren. I don't know why the Yankees would put Hughes on the table now. Well, as we all know, if the Twins don't agree to the deal today, the Yankees will never, ever, ever negotiate with Minnesota over Johan Santana again. So the Hughes-issue should be moot since this Yankee-Twins arrangement will absolutely go no longer than 11:59pm tonight.

Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Terry Francona won't be allowed to wear his nightshirt thing that he wears. That shit is stupid. The only reason he wears it is because of health issues. He must wear a uniform top or a jacket. It's called the "Francona Rule".

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 The OH (Orioles Hangout) has been filled with possible deals for Bedard and or Tejada but this one takes the cake and gets filed under "If its too good to be true.." Tejada, Bedard and maybe Payton to the Dodgers for a package that would include Kemp, LaRoche, Hu, Billingsley, and Broxton. We will also take on Pierre. The Orioles should be happy anybody's willing to take Tejada as a shortstop.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 I could see that happening actually. The Dodgers don't like LaRoche that much and the veterans over there dislike Kemp.

Veterans such as Jeff Kent? Heh, does he like anybody? Serious question. I think that trade's a bit too big to go down, but you never know. Anyway, why not Bedard for Kemp and Hu or something if they're really willing to get rid of people. The O's could trade Tejada to someone else, which makes Hu useful. LaRoche would be useful too if they traded Mora (to the Phillies?).

geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 When asked if the Reds were close to a deal involving Tim Lincecum, Reds GM Wayne Krivsky just gave a little smile to beat writer C. Trent Rosecrans. Reds interested in Lincecum Cincinnati is apparently interested in San Francisco right-hander Tim Lincecum, but if the Giants insist on Reds outfield prospect Jay Bruce as part of any deal, look for the Reds to back off. Bruce, 20, hit a combined .319 with 26 homers and 89 RBIs in 133 games at three Minor League stops in 2007. The left-handed hitting Bruce is considered one of the team's cornerstones of the future. From rotoworld: Tim Lincecum-S-Giants Dec. 3 - 6:28 pm et The Reds are showing interest in Tim Lincecum, though they're not willing to give up Jay Bruce for him. Bruce for Lincecum straight up would be a poor risk for the Reds, but it'd be difficult for the team to make a deal without using him. Joey Votto and Edwin Encarnacion for Lincecum wouldn't be such a terrible proposal Reports in Cincy are that two players in the deal are agreed upon, the sticking point is the third
Guest RyechnaiaSobaka Report post Posted December 4, 2007 That is amazing. Poor Lincecum. He'll get ruined by Dusty Baker.

treble 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 A thrilled looking Vernon Wells modeling the Jays new road uniforms. I like them better than the old ones, but they've got to stop with this constant switching every few years.
Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Needs a blue hat with a T, but it's an improvement. Are the home jerseys going to spell out Blue Jays again? Otherwise, these don't match at all. The most annoying failure to match is the Nats sticking that old Senators hat on a bunch of otherwise modern stuff. What was wrong with the old 70s style from the World Series?
treble 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 I don't think they're changing the home ones (this year). They're wearing powder blue throwbacks for Friday home games, those are the 2 they unveiled today.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 The price is nuts, but at least the deal legitimately improves the Royals. Emil Brown hit .247/.300/.347 in left field last year.
