Hawk 34 Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 On the last ECW on Sci Fi, John Morrison moved one step closer to re-obtaining the gold when he won the No. 1 Contender’s Match against The Miz. This week, the Shaman of Sexy has the opportunity to finish the job when he takes on ECW Champion CM Punk. In their last title match, the Straightedge Superstar emerged victorious, but before that he had a string of bad luck against the Tuesday Night Delight. Will Morrison bring his old form with him? Can he unseat CM Punk as ECW Champion? Also on ECW, Mark Henry notched a win in the brand’s Monster Mash Battle Royal. The partnership between ECW General Manager Armando Estrada and SmackDown Acting GM Vickie Guerrero has proven to be influential, as the self-proclaimed Silverback reigned over all other beasts in the battle. Jimmy Wang Yang was also in action. How will the deal continue to affect the Land of the Extreme? Find out the answers to these questions and more on the next ECW on Sci Fi on Tuesday at 10/9 CT. Also, be sure to catch ECW in its entirety every week on WWE.com, available from Wednesday to the following Monday afternoon
The Niggardly King Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 I'm liking the idea of more Jimmy Yang on Tuesdays. Like to see a better match with him and Burke... they just seemed so off the last time, but I could see some great matches between them happening.
Hawk 34 Posted November 7, 2007 Author Report Posted November 7, 2007 I can't help but to think Burke/Dykstra is something that could work to give SD another tag team. After tonight, it should end the Morrison/Punk trip but it probably won't. I still wonder how they intend to not spoil the result of the match on ECW to the live crowd since Punk is appearing on Smackdown.

Maybe it will be in a backstage segment not shown to the live crowd, ala TNA Impact.

Or they do the whole 'this is your last shot at the title' gimmick for Morrison @ Survivor Series.
Hawk 34 Posted November 7, 2007 Author Report Posted November 7, 2007 They will more then likely have another match at Series since I'm not sure I want Punk to go into yet another PPV with very little meaning to his match but it needs to be a gimmick match. I'd actually like to see WWE do the time limit draw finish and use Series as a "The Final Showdown" type moniker.

Loser Leaves ECW That would be a logical step for this feud, however ECW can't afford to lose anyone else and with the talent merger, the person would have to go to RAW, where I think either one of them would be completely lost in the shuffle.

Morrison wouldn't be a drastic loss for ECW, especially if they shift someone from SD to ECW (such as Finlay) as Punk's main adversary. Morrison being lost in the shuffle on Raw doesn't bother me.
Exslade ZX Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Alright, why the hell are all the logos green? I thought USA just did a stupid move, and changed it to green (At first I thought it was for DX, then I saw it was on all their shows) but Sci-Fi's logo is green too now... Something to do with the writer's strike?

Spaceman Spiff Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Ha! "Courtesy of Jamie Noble". Glad I tuned in to ECW. Any takers on whether they mention these 2 being "cousins"?
Hawk 34 Posted November 7, 2007 Author Report Posted November 7, 2007 Nunzio made like 3 appearences from ECW's inception until just recently when he has become more of a regular. I hope this starts a winning streak for Noble and leads to Punk-Noble. It's been far too long since those two got in the ring together.
DangerousDamon Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Haha, I didn't know Roderick Strong was on ECW now
Hawk 34 Posted November 7, 2007 Author Report Posted November 7, 2007 Why didn't Balls escort Kelly? Have they already dropped that entire thing?
Exslade ZX Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Miz doesn't look as cool with only one chick. And damnit, why did it have to be Brooke that was released? She's definitely hotter then Layla. Yea...that was a hell of a finisher there....
Hawk 34 Posted November 7, 2007 Author Report Posted November 7, 2007 Miz doesn't look as cool with only one chick. And damnit, why did it have to be Brooke that was released? She's definitely hotter then Layla. Straight hair doesn't really work on her. Miz could have at least said "Hey, I fired your friend just because I can. I could do the same to you but that's...too easy". Oh, hey. They do remember Balls. They should do Balls/Kelly-Layla/Miz at Series, but that would mean more then one match at a ppv for ECW and that can't happen.
Exslade ZX Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Holy shit, I didn't know Shannon Moore was still signed. And funny, the ghosthunters joke.
Thanks for the Fish Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 So is Kane a full time ECW wrestler now? I mean why not have Kane vs Henry on SD! otherwise? I know Sci-Fi wants more Sci-Fi stuff and the wwe thinks booking See No Evil Kane appeases that, but I'm not understanding having that match on ECW. Also nice to see that SD! jobbers come over and beat ECW jobbers. I know ECW can't win'em all, but could we at least have ECW talent go and get a win on SD?
Thanks for the Fish Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Burke vs the failed ECW Jobber The Reject? They're really stacking the hell out of the show tonight...

ECW/Smackdown are co-branded now. Didn't you just see Burke squash Moore?
JHawk Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 I'm just glad an ECW wrestler won a match on ECW TV. No, Layla doesn't count.
Thanks for the Fish Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 ECW/Smackdown are co-branded now. Didn't you just see Burke squash Moore? Co-branded? I thought they could just swap talent. I understand Noble, Moore, Yang and Kane coming over initially and all, it just doesn't make sense to have a SD! vs SD! match on ECW. Are we going to see Dreamer vs BDV on SD?

We did see Big Daddy V vs. John Morrison vs. The Miz on SmackDown two weeks ago. I happen to agree with you though.
Brocklock Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 Damn, so this match is only getting like 10 minutes. I smell a no contest and a rematch at Survivor Series.
