NFL WEEK ELEVEN- Proving grounds.

Recommended Posts

And, for the final word on the FG, they just said on NBC that the review official wouldn't give the referee any film, that they had to decide it via a crew conference. The official who saw the ball go over the cross bar wasn't the one who signalled the try was no good, and he argued convincingly in the huddle that the ball did go over the bar. So, the crew got the call right without violating the rules.

But...the Ravens...they got screwed..idiots lol heh..mmm START BOLLER. Oh, pretty HD...

Besides New England, this was the last remaining game I expected the Jets to win. The defensive line was just terrific today, racking up nine sacks while keeping Parker and Roethlisberger under control. Clemens wasn't great, but he came up big on that drive near the end of the fourth quarter (which would have won the game if Brad Smith was a halfway decent receiver) and he was working most of the game without Coles.

Also, it was pretty frustrating to see the Steelers constantly pooch kicking and the Jets having no response to it, but when Washington finally did get his hands on the ball, he pretty much single-handedly won them the game. And there's still the fact that Mangini keeps making ridiculous mistakes, such as wasting two time outs and forcing Pittsburgh to redo the punt in the fourth quarter. Can't complain too much, though, since I went into the game expecting the Jets to lose by 20 or so.

Well the Redskins had their oppurtunities today. Two big passes got away from Campbell, one to a streaking Cooley who had the inside route on whoever was covering him(not sure but it was probably Roy Williams) that would have either resulted in a 1st & Goal or a TD, and then on the Redskins final realistic drive, Moss got open and Campbell aired it out too much.

The Redskins Defense did pretty good in every area except covering Terrell Owens. Of course they dropped a couple INTs. More missed oppurtunities. It was basically the Romo/Owens show out there. Sean Taylor sure picked a horrible time to go and hurt his ankle. He will be back for the next game between these two but by that time either the Cowboys might be resting starters anyway, or the Redskins might not even be in the wildcard hunt.......UGH.

Overall, the loss sucks of course, but Jason Campbell is getting better every week and I feel the team put up a good performance on the road against the best team in the NFC. The Redskins just aren't there yet, but they are showing signs of a team that will keep getting better.

Lions had a chance, but they just made too many bone-headed plays to win. Martz needs to get the ball to Calvin Johnson more.

Even though the Lions currently occupy the last NFC playoff spot, they're in a pretty precarious situation right now. The Lions still have to play Green Bay twice, but the Packers are 3 games ahead and have a realtively easy schedule so the division seems lost. Meanwhile, the Lions would lose the tie-breaker to Philly, Washington, Arizona, and the Giants if they tied with any of them for the Wild Card. Plus, they have one of the toughest remaining schedules.

If Jason Campbell continues to progress and the offense overall plays this way the rest of the way out, I think the last wildcard is do-able. The hardest games left are on the road in NY, which is probably a loss because they never play well there, and the final game against Dallas, although if the have homefield wrapped up, they may be resting players.

New England running their customary 2 minute drill at the end of the first half while being up 28-7. Classy.

I hate these guys.

Good lord, Moss might actually make a run at Jerry Rice's single season receiving touchdown record of 22 which no one has ever came close enough to warrant paying attention to. Now Rice did it only 12 games in the '87 strike season so Moss needs 6 in the next two and half games to match that feat.

The Steelers head coach is black? Man, I really haven't been paying attention to Pittsburgh this year.

And this game is cruel, I'm almost rooting for a Buffalo comeback a little bit. I don't want to see them get 50 plus put on them in this game.

Bored, the way this game is going he might get the six in the second HALF.

Great to see the Pats going for the touchdown when they are up 80 points on 4th and 1.

That TD sure was necessary. I don't care what you say Patriots fans, you cannot defend that (and neither could the Bills, apparently).

Yes it was, Brady is going to break the non steroid mark of 61.

I've become a Pats fan this year. I'm not jumping on their bandwagon cause they're good. I'm jumping on because I love arrogance. And Randy Moss.

Randy Moss is simply amazing. Although he can thank Brady too. That man literally has SAVED his career. Man, simply phenominal.
