The Ghost of bps21 Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Seriously... 13 people who voted didn't pick Ohio State as one of the 2? THIRTEEN???
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Oh come on. Do you guys seriously NOT enjoy all of this? All of the discussion and controversy about which team goes in? This is fun! Didn't you get the memo? College football is SERIOUS business. BTW- The BCS should be never rid of because of seasons like this. Total and utter chaos and controversy this year. This has been the best season of college football that I have seen in my lifetime. Edit- The Championship game should be Hawaii v. Ohio State. An undefeated team should have a shot at the Sears Trophy no matter how "good" a conference is perceived to be (SEC, i'm looking at you).
Hawk 34 Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Even as a staunch OSU hater, I still voted for them.
The Niggardly King Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 He's coming for what's his...
SilverPhoenix Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I'm not saying the system itself isn't flawed, I just thing the flaws create things like this where we can discuss who deserves to be in the game, and that's fun. Okay, I fucking lied when I said I was done. I just had to post a reply to this. This is not fun. None of this is fun. It's not fun having this same goddamn debate when there are three or more teams who pretty much have the same profile. It's not fun having people rally for bowls on ESPN (Mack Brown can still kiss my ass.) And its not fun having homers vote for teams who don't deserve to be in the Top 25 (Here's looking at you Arkansas and Auburn) for whatever reason. The Bowl system sucks balls. Always has, and will continue to as long as it crowns a National Champion. There is no other organized league sport in the modern world that has such a crap system tell us who we should recognize as the Champion. And as long as Division I-A/FCS/Bullshit Championship System doesn't institute a playoff, it's as legit as Professional Wrestling. Sorry for the rant, guys. But I had to get it out.
Guest Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 At least Kansas will be playing in either the Sugar Bowl or Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. Surely Mangino likes both of those things.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 This is actually a year where I don't mind having the BCS. The problem years are when the computer tells you that LSU and Oklahoma are 1 and 2 when the whole rest of the world KNOWS that the two teams that deserve to play are USC and LSU.... And we end the season with a split title and the same 1 and 2 that actual human people would have picked BEFORE the game. This year you just have a group of teams with a bunch of reasons NOT to be in the game.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Honestly, If the BCS is rid of in the next couple of years, College Football should go back to the old bowl alliance system IMO.
Guest Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I'll say this about the Bowl Alliance, at least more big bowl games mattered when it was in place.

The Ghost of bps21 Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Where this could get really fun is if Hawaii wins and OSU loses. Then you have a two loss team with the National Title and a no loss team who actually DID beat somebody that matters.
Guest Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 If Hawaii beats what in all likelihood will be Georgia, I'd say to give them a split national title. Why the hell not?
Slayer Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 At least Kansas will be playing in either the Sugar Bowl or Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. Surely Mangino likes both of those things. Awesome
CanadianChris Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 PujolJunkie = John Saunders
Smartly Pretty Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Well I'm sorry you guys can't enjoy this.
Hawk 34 Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 The season was fun but now we're stuck with a shitty title game and a bunch of uninteresting BCS Bowl games. We could have still had a fun season and had a 4/8 team playoff that would create good matchups and eliminate questions.
Bored Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 It's official: Ohio State vs. LSU for the BCS Championship. The surprise is who ended up #3. Also Missouri does end up ranked higher than Kansas so that will hopefully kill the all-Big XII Fiesta Bowl. Final BCS Rankings 1. Ohio State 2. LSU 3. Virginia Tech 4. Oklahoma 5. Georgia 6. Missouri 7. USC 8. Kansas 9. West Virginia 10. Hawaii 11. Arizona State 12. Florida 13. Illinois 14. Boston College 15. Clemson 16. Tennessee 17. BYU 18. Wisconsin 19. Texas 20. Virginia 21. South Florida 22. Cincinnati 23. Auburn 24. Boise State 25. Connecticut
Guest Pizza Hut's Game Face Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 How'd you get the rankings before it was announced on THE OT?!?!?
Guest Vitamin X Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 So it's probably VT-OU, Georgia-Missouri, USC-Kansas, and WV-Hawaii? With LSU-OSU as the title game? Yuck.
Bored Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Arizona State has accepted an invite to the Holiday Bowl so we know they didn't make the Fiesta Bowl, which also means Illinois did make the Rose Bowl as the Big Ten threw it's weight around, and that also means Georgia goes to the Sugar Bowl. Only question right now is did Missouri get in over Kansas.
Bored Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 And it just got leaked that Missouri is going to the Cotton Bowl so despite beating them and being ranked higher, Kansas gets a BCS at large bid.
Bored Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Fuck Fox, here's your BCS bowls. BCS: Ohio State vs. LSU Sugar: Georgia vs. Hawaii Orange: Virginia Tech vs. Kansas Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. West Virginia Rose: USC vs. Illinois
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2007 Author Report Posted December 3, 2007 I love how they try to make this like the basketball selection show and insinuate there are questions over whether Hawaii will get in, when anyone who knows anything about the BCS knows they're automatically in.
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2007 Author Report Posted December 3, 2007 Oh, man, this is unwatchable. Forget it.
Guest Pizza Hut's Game Face Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 If Hawaii can't play in the national championship, then throw all mid-majors out of the BCS and only let the big 6 conferences and Notre Dame contend for it. This is a charade.
The Robfather Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I hate how they're pretending they don't know the matchups already
The Robfather Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 They should do like Wrestling and leave all the games as one team vs. a mystery opponent.
The Robfather Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 They came back from commercial break and went right back to one
