AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 Anyone know what the budget for Hitman was? I wouldn't think it would be all that high, so the $35+ million it's taken in should probably be considered a fairly decent success so far.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 4 6 Fred Claus 5 $4.7M $65.6M $1.5k This saddens me to no end. The trailer for this abortion even looks bad. Why do I have a feeling this could potentially climb to #1 closer to Christmas? Has there ever been a movie to do that (be around number 6 or so for several weeks, and eventually climb to #1?)? bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 I'm sure there's been some movie thats climbed to #1- There's Something About Mary comes to mind. Looked it up, Something About Mary opened at #4 and became #1 Labour Day Weekend. With I Am Legend and National Treasure coming out before XMas, it won't hit #1. Didn't My Big Fat Greek Wedding come out and then have a resurgence a couple months after the fact when the lead was on Oprah?
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 My Big Fat Greek Wedding is the highest grossing movie to never hit #1. Top 10- Day After Tomorrow (came out when Shrek 2 was huge) Dances With Wolves (Home Alone) A Beautiful Mind (the movie slowly built its audience as it got acclaim) Chicago (see above) Casino Royale (came out same weekend as Happy Feet) Catch Me if You Can (another movie released over the holidays that stayed around for a while) Polar Express (see above) Longest Yard (faced Star Wars) Over the Hedge (faced DaVinci Code) There were a few sub-$1,000 PSA movies which I will update in a few days
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 Sub $1,000 PSA movies: Noelle is a Christmas movie that was released by 8X Entertainment. It's a Christian movie, and it was released in the markets that helped make One Night With the King a modest success. http://noellethemovie.com/media_theatrical.html (trailer) PSA was $865 Strength and Honor is an Irish sports drama distributed by Slowhand Releasing, which is an indie company that has been on the sub-$1,000 PSA list before. Michael Madsen and Vinnie Jones is a great cast though. It's an inspirational bare knuckle boxing movie, not a gangster movie sadly. Ebert's review: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.d...VIEWS/712060305 http://www.strengthandhonorthemovie.com/trailer.html (trailer) PSA was $472. It's a Boy Girl Thing is a Canadian/UK body swapping comedy directed by the guy who did Little Black Book and was distributed by Alliance Atlanis. (trailer) http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117932387...mp;cs=1&p=0 (review of the movie) PSA was $424. Looking for Cheynne is a foreign film released by Regent Releasing. It's a lesbian movie too. PSA was $
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 I read a few reviews of Strength and Honor. None of them were that good but it still may be a borderline rental for me since I'm a fan of Madsen and Vinnie Jones and it's not too often that they get leads in movies.
