JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Most Hated: 1. Tom Brady He is probably represents what is "right" with sports. Marketable, non-controversial, says the right things, humble etc etc. That being said I don't think I've hated a quaterback this much since John Elway. Its funny, because since he represents what is right with sports makes me hate him so much more. He is so fucking smug it makes me sick. That and he wins so god damn much its not even fair. Also, ever sports commentator under the sun takes turns slobbing this douches knob is a major turn off for me. 2. SEC Football College Football's best football conference, sure right? I don't have to here about it every two seconds. Its bullshit that a team with two losses can get a shot at the national championship because the conference it played in was JUST SO TOUGH!!! Top it off with inbreed fans heehawing how much better their conference is than everybody elses makes me hate them so much more. 3. The Michael Vick saga Both sides are equally hateable and despicable. The pro-Vick crowd are idiots since they believe this is a race issue blah blah, dog fighting isnt that bad blah blah. Face it, Vick actually got off pretty good, since the sentence called for a max 5 years and he only got 2. Sounds fair right? The anti-crowd is just as bad with PETA assholes, hyberbolic rhetoric (dog murderer??!!) and other offensive bullshit. I wish this story will go away for a long time, but ESPN will never make us forget. Most Liked 1 Colts winning the Super Bowl I'm probably going to be flamed for this, but damn is was hard to root against Peyton Manning because he is just so damn likable to me. Heis aww shucks routine is just so funny that I cant never get enough of it. Plus they beat the hated New England Patriots in a memorable game, so it makes me like them even more. Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Yeah. He did murder a dog. Thats pretty freaking accurate. If they called him dog raper, then maybe you would be on to something.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Also, with Tom Brady, you are looking at a return to oldschool athletes. Like sure, Michael Jordan was a gambling addicted, stripper impregnating, violent asshole, but come'on...we don't have time to report any of that. Its Michael FUCKING Jordon. Sure, Tom Brady will have two out of wedlock kids by two different women born within a year of each other and the first Mom says he is kind of a crappy dad, but come'on. Its Tom FUCKING Brady. I personally like it. We know too much shit about people now. Just think, if a NBA star was to throw a guy through a window or spit on a little girl in the stands now, he would be banned from the league because 10,000 sports writers would be all up in arms. In the 80's and early 90's, mutha fuckas was gettin AIDS while their wife was clean and people were still didn't have anything bad to say about them. Thats how I liked it. Way to bring it back Tom. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I want the stripper impregnanting story please. And Still Fly's rhetoric against the anti-Vick crowd didn't make much sense. Of course there will always be the loonies in PETA who take things too far, but for the most part people were just outraged at what Vick did. And as Ripper said, he IS a dog murderer. My favourite moment of 2007 was Saints v. Eagles. That was one big roller coaster game, and to me it's the greatest football game I've ever seen. I still think I suffered a stroke and/or heart attack in the fourth quarter
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Most liked: - Ottawa makes the Stanley Cup finals (ldo) - Boise State beats Oklahoma in the game of the year - Padraig Harrington beats Sergio Garcia in a playoff at the Open Championship - Alexei Yashin gets run out of the NHL Most hated: - Sports media/talking heads. It's gotten to the point where the media now makes the news more often than just reporting it, with Kirk Herbstreit's "exclusive" of Les Miles' supposed agreement with Michigan being just the latest example. - fox college football coverage. Awful. - Rory Sabbatini. Just shut up already. - The Suns/Spurs series. A great series forever marred by a pair of unnecessary suspensions. I hated David Stern's sanctimonious posturing after the fact, too.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Maybe its just me, but when I think of "murderers", I think of scumbags like Jeffery Dahmer, OJ Simpson, etc etc, not Mike Vick. What he did was wrong, reprehesible and all that stuff, but "murderer"? A term like that just screams of hyberbole and its just overkill for me.

treble 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Most liked: -The one day of gloating I had after the Leafs beat the Habs on the last Saturday night of the season in the craziest game ever, at least making sure Montreal didn't make the playoffs. Most hated: -Almost every other Leaf moment. -Brian Burke acting like a baby after the Dustin Penner offer sheet. At least Darcy Regier said what he was going to say and matched the Vanek offer. Burke dragged it on as long as possible and probably still mumbles about it in his sleep.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Count me in on the media being the most hated part of '07. These guys obviously don't want to actually work so they just take the topic du jour and beat it to death for far longer than it should be. Also, the constant and pathetic whining about Boston sports teams actually doing their jobs and being successful. What, are they not pulling enough guns out in nighclubs or killing enough dogs for you? Grow the hell up the whole lot of you.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I can see hating the hype of SEC football, but god damn were there too many great games at the end of the season to hate the conference itself. Liked: - Jayson Werth and Tadahito Iguchi running on Billy Wagner at will in the 9th inning Hate: - Seeing the McNabb era pass without a SB

Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Hated: - The Superbowl matchup. Couldn't even be bothered to watch it for the first time since 1999 since my options were either watching AwShucks hoist the trophy or watching Da Bears hoist it. - Bob Huggins bolting from K-State after one year - Generally disappointing NBA and NHL playoffs - Ohio State repeatedly making championship games Liked: - The Rockies late season and post season surge, even if they lost to - The Sox winning the WS - Ohio State repeatedly losing championship games Tentative Like: - The Vikings making a Fontes/Fassel December run into the playoffs - The Pats and Dolphins making runs at having a zero in their W-L columns

hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Most hated: Bill Belichick. I know the whole spy-gate thing is just way too overplayed, but then I hear stories of himgoing through the trash cans of opposing teams' offices. I realy want to say he is a cheater and he's just getting away with it. I really don't want to buy their 16-0 run because they're just cheating somehow. I really want to, but I can't. There are other things I don't like about him . . . How he's just not a likeable person and all he wants to do is sit in his office analyze tapes and find weaknesses rather than you know, have a normal life. I really want to call him a nerd, but all he wants to do is win football games. What's wrong with that? I'm trying hard to find a reason to like the Patriots and Bill Belichick. What, are they not pulling enough guns out in nighclubs or killing enough dogs for you? Grow the hell up the whole lot of you. They are too busy taking steroids and having unprotected sex and cheating. Get off the fucking high horse. No one reports the negatives about winners. 10 years from now we will hear about how Junior Seau was punch hookers in the stomach with a roll of quarters in his hand to get hyped up for the game and how Randy Moss was pissing in some Catholic churches holy water for shits and giggles. And Tom Brady will actually have gotten 8 women pregnant this year because he will be DAMNED if Travis Henry beats him at ANY goddamn thing.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I don't think anyone would have hated the Pats if not for a few things. A: The media B: Their fans C: Spygate D: Their fans The pats were a likeable team then came the media blow jobs and the "Well, everyone keeps counting out the Patriots. I dont' know why they are a great team" when everyone was saying they were a great team. They continued that shit for 5 years. Just like every year they do the "Everyone is counting out the Spurs" crap. When has the spurs not been considered favorites for the Championship in the last 6-8 years? Then of course, alot of Boston fans were whiney assholes. And got whineyier and assholeier as the years went on. Spygate was bad, but the only thing that made it so bad was all the "Its no big deal!!!!!!" crap coming out of the media and pat fans mouths. Plus, anytime the media comes up with a nickname for something it probably is going to be annoying as fuck. After spygate the fans got to a whole other level of whineosity and assholery. "TAKE THAT NFL FOR PUNISHING US FOR OUR CHEATING!!!!!" "STOP COMPLAINING THAT OUR TEAM IS DOING SOMETHING THAT EVERY OTHER COACH FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS HAS HAD THE COMMON DECENCY NOT TO DO!!!" And that is why people hate the pats. I personally don't care. I think seeing a team go 19-0 in my lifetime would be pretty kickass. But I do understand the hate on the team. Boon 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Bostonians: LIKE US PLEASE! WE'RE NOT LIKE THE YANKEES! SHOW SOME RESPECT! He does all the right things, is so humble, and gives all his credit to his team." Except when he bitches at referees and taunts opponents! We're all guilty of it to some extent, but nobody tries harder to proselytize than Boston fans. As if people who couldn't stand being inundated with New England-based national sports media already are going to go "hey, wait, you're right! The hell was I thinking? Pats ROCK!" As if people who couldn't stand being inundated with New England-based national sports media already are going to go "hey, wait, you're right! The hell was I thinking? Pats ROCK!" I think we're way past that. The rest of the country resents the Patriots, Red Sox and now even the Celtics. If you really listen to the Boston sports media [which I don't suggest you do], you'll find the theme now is "We're the luckiest city on the planet, even if we are the most hated." Forgive me- if the last six years have taught me anything, it's that I'd rather be a fan of a hated winner than a lovable loser. You of all people, Czech, should appreciate that. EDIT: And so should Yankee fans. You embraced the "Evil Empire" tag because it came along with six World Series trips since 1996.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 So I guess the TSM pick of most hated is the city of Boston?
Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I don't think anyone resents the Celtics right now. Because the boston fans aren't paying them that much attention yet. Which once again goes into my theory that its the fans fault people hate the teams. Right now everyone is focusing on the Pats, so the rest of the country is still okay with the Celtics. Lets put it this way, if the playoffs started today and your favorite team got eliminated in the first round, who could honestly say they wouldn't root for the Celtics with their 3 guys that really deserve a shot at the title after playing so hard for all these years? But wait until Boston fans get ahold of it. Hell, just on this board, there will be a influx of posters who have never posted in a NBA thread coming in talking about how facking unstoppable the Celts are and how they have been a diehard fan since day one.
