What kind of music kick are you on?

Recommended Posts

Currently I've been listening to a lot of 50's and 60's music. Everything from Jazz, Sinatra and the Rat Pack and Buddy Holly to things like Dion and the Belmonts and various doo-wop songs.

Maybe I fell asleep to a few Time Life Music collection infomercials or something.

Old library music and 60's/70's movie soundtracks. Stuff like the KPM guys, as well as Bruno Nicoli, Roy Budd, and Ennio Morricone.

Also, I've been listening to a lot of Steroid Maximus lately.

Also, Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx ("Knuckleheads" and "Verbal Intercorse" are great) and Agalloch.

Been listening to a decent amount of death and grindcore (Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Phobia, Anal Cunt) for the last year or so, and also into some nerdcore and gangsta rap (MC Lars and MC Frontalot for nerdcore, the Death Row guys for gangsta) lately due to my coworker being a HUGE rap fan (specifically Wu-Tang and the old Death Row line-up). I should probably be listening to some more groove-oriented metal/hardcore, like more Pantera, Pro-Pain, Obituary, etc. because that's what my band wants to play (the more groove-heavy stuff), but meh. Coming out of a huge 2-year-long thrash kick and getting more into music that builds into something more than just screaming about hating people and getting drunk.

Man, Boyz II Men was one great group. "On Bended Knee" was one of the best songs of the 1990s, totally. When I was little, someone got me a teddy bear that played "Water Runs Dry." Cute.

I was on a big 90's alternative nostalgia trip (Sponge, Candlebox, Stabbing Westward) and now I've regressed to 70's classic rock (Foreigner, Styx, Journey). I have a feeling that my next phase will be late 80's/early 90's rap .

When you were little? Damn, I was nineteen when that song came out...

I'm listening to a lot of 90s pop and Bruce Springsteen lately.

I realized whilst listening to a lot of 90s pop that I must be the only American who kinda liked Robbie Williams. Whoever was in charge of promoting him in the States totally bungled the job I tell ya! It was completely bungled!

I have all of his albums. I like his stuff, especially his album where he covered 40's & 50's crooners songs.
