Mik Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Kalib Starnes just put on the worst performance in years. I'm glad Quarry embarrassed him at the end. Normally I wouldn't like to see that but it was 100% deserved.
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Oh fuck you Starns. Dude should not be brought back for a while after that Thanks for trying to have a fight, Nate
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 THIRTY! - TWENTY-FOUR! Fucking awesome
jwpeer Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 ROFLMFAO 30-24 judge for the fight = best judge ever.
Mik Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Quarry just gained about 30 points in my book busting out the Rocky.
Broward83 Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Audio is a bit behind on the stream.. so I was reading the board going: "Rocky? WTF?" ..but yeah, that was fucking great.
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Watching the stream as well. I've noticed that I'm a little behind on things. But not tooooo much. I picked GSP and Rich to win on MMAplayground, but I put tiny bets on Lutter and Serra just in case
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Nickleback for your ring walk...really?
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Has Rich gone up against a serious ground threat before? (outside of Ando)
AmericanDragon Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 How the fuck can Kalib even attempt to have an MMA career after that?
jwpeer Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 How the fuck can Kalib even attempt to have an MMA career after that? That's a really good question. If you have an injury so bad that you're just going to run backwards for three rounds, you'll look a LOT better by pulling out of the fight altogether. There's no real excuse.
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Yeah, Kalib needs to knock his next opponent the fuck out. He's gonna take some time away from the octagon. I can't imagine Dana bringing him back soon after that. Can't wait to hear the excuse tomorrow
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 From Observer, even got its own headline Middleweights: Nate Quarry (16-2) def. Kalib Starnes (10-4-1) via unanimous decision. 30-26, 30-27, 30-24 Yahoo! score: Quarry 30-27 Turning point: Starnes, in training, apparently worked on running the 40 at full speed, only backwards. That set the tone for the match. Analysis: Starnes was defensive to the point the Canadian crowd switched 100%, cheering Quarry loudly at the end after booing most of the fight. Quarry stayed in the pocket and came forward throwing punches and low kicks. But Starnes continually backpedaled so Quarry never had him in trouble. The lopsided scoring of any round had to be more Starnes being docked points for not fighting because Quarry never had him in trouble. Quarry mocked Starnes in the last minute, once running in place and later folding his arms and daring Starnes to come forward.
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Kenny's doing alright on commentary tonight
jwpeer Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Most beautiful armbar counter ever. Amazing
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Franklin looked better on his back than I was expecting. Hadn't really seen it before. Travis looked spent when they stood back up
Mik Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Lutter is lucky he wasn't on the end of a sick sick KO in that fight. He was dead on his feet minutes before it was over. As for Starnes... he'll be on a long hiatus, that's for sure. At least.
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Maybe Lutter had to do a massive cut before the fight, he was gassed halfway through round one
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Damn, Goldy just called him out on possibly not making the weight cut as well
jwpeer Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Franklin is in the worst position though. He can't fight Silva...not for another year at least. Is Machida going to be fighting in the UFC anytime soon? So he can at least have a chance to avenge that loss?
Mik Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Lyoto fights next month. Against Tito. Here we go. Main event time.
jwpeer Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Lyoto fights next month. Against Tito. Here we go. Main event time. Thanks, I know they'd been negotiating, just haven't been keeping up on upcoming events as much, just watching things as they happen. He's going to destroy Tito though. Time for the big one!

Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 I can't wait to hear Serra's reaction WAR SERRA!
