Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 15, 2008 .........I can't tell if that's ment a smartass remark or if you actually mean that. It's both, really. And are the Raiders really that much better off than the 49ers? Sure the AFC West kind of sucks outside of San Diego, but the NFC West is truly abysmal outside of Seattle, who isn't that great either. I'd really put both Bay Area teams at about the same level, personally. And Madden seems to agree as well, since SF is at 72 and Oakland is 71.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 I'm sorry. I just hate the Raider Nation. Around here, we have a lot of people with Raiders logos on their back windshields, painted on curbs near their homes... even fucking tattooed on their bodies. Invariably, all these people are dumb as fuck and really ghetto and/or trashy. I know you're not, Toby, but Raiders fans in my area piss me off. Also, the all-Raiders store in the mall. It seems as if most Raider fans I've encountered (except for a select few) seem to fit this description. Unfortunately, VX is right. They're pretty much at the same level, although the 49ers have had a better shot of making the playoffs in recent time (2006) than the Raiders have. Even without that, they'd still be at the same level.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Sorry but the Niners are never gonna make the playoffs with Alex Smith as the starting quarterback. Just isn't going to happen.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 With the way things are going, Alex Smith probably won't be the starting QB once week 1 rolls around.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Matt is right. The way things are going now, it'll probably be JT O'Sullivan starting Week 1. This will be his 2nd straight preseason game he's started, and he's also taken more reps with the first team in recent time. Unfortunately, I think Next USC #55 may be right, this team probably won't make the playoffs with Alex as a starter. I'm starting to believe that last year's fiasco might have just ruined him completely. Doesn't help when you're publically feuding with your head coach regarding your health when it's quite evident that you're still hurt.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 So I'm a hypocrite. I bought Madden last night. The football bug just bit me hard. Had my madden IQ up to 608 after my first preseason game as the Bills, then I simmed the rest of the preseason, and now it's down to 580-something after my 7-3 opening week win over Seattle

They'd be the kind of fans I'd want to associate myself with, if I wasn't a Bears fan.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 Well, I just got fucked over in my franchise, lost 10-7 to the Jags on a bullshit TD. http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/video/211238 Seriously, THAT'S a TD? And yes, I did challenge it. Still stood.

Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 How do you record the video?
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 How do you record the video? All plays are auto-recorded. Like in NCAA, you can go to view any play, and after it ends, you are given the option to record. You can then upload it to EA's servers.
Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 I've seen shit like that happen since '06 in Madden and NCAA. While we're on the topic of bugs, has anyone seen the glitch in NCAA this year when the opposing team misses a field goal and retains possession, or when the CPU clearly drops the ball and the play is reviewed
Broward83 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 I've had the latter...they drop the ball or they're out of bounds and they go to review the play. It wouldn't bother me too much if I could skip the whole process but I'm stuck looking at replays of him being out of bounds and catching the ball

Nightwing 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 I agree with VX's sentiment about how alien things feel. I haven't played a Madden game regularly in a few years, but this system feels like a massive departure from the old. I absolutely loathe the new play-picking screen, which is made up for by the great audible system. On the 40-Yard Dash: I had the same problems you guys did, initially. Then I read the directions slowly and carefully to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong, and I figured it out. For me, I was alternating the sticks down and up unconsciously, which was causing me to stumble since you are only supposed to flick them down. After I figured out that was the problem, I was getting 4.2s and 4.15s. I had a similar problem of "Playing without reading" on the Benchpress game as well, though I maxed out at 15 after figuring it out. That game is just way too complicated for its own good. fazzle 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 It is so fucking retarded that you can only upload 5 videos at a time. What's the point of even being allowed to save 10 highlights from a game if you can only upload 5? If anyone can afford the extra bandwidth, it's EA.
Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 Is the bench press the same "both sticks at once to lift, mash the hell out of triggers to regain stamina" as it was? I was great at that, every player I built was jacked.

I think I was closing in on 30 when I got tired of making players for Superstar mode; average was somewhere in the mid-20s, IIRC. I could hardly ever get a 40 time below 5 seconds, though. KingPK 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2008 It's only video as far as I can tell. I had my best game so far against the Chargers earlier. It was a close 17-14 affair until late in the 4th when Maroney found a hole in the D and broke one 80 yards for a score (I'll upload the play later). They scored a late TD, but I recovered the onside kick to win.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2008 I like the game overall, but one glaring problem I still have a major gripe with is the fact that linebackers seem to make all sorts of acrobatic, split second, over-the-shoulder, diving, jumping etc etc etc interceptions while at the same time you can have your cornerback placed in perfect position to make an interception, and they drop at least four out of five of them whether you are controling them or the AI is controlling them. It gets frustrating when playing online.
