teke184 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 Nuggets fans would've done that anyway. It's all in good fun, so I don't see anything wrong with it. I'll remember that if people start complaining about the Hornets fans chanting "Dirk's a pussy" tomorrow night.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 And kill the goodwill of OKC? Good idea! With the Hornets, they had Chris Paul. With the Sonics they have Kevin Durant. With the Bucks they have.... Michael Redd? Yeah with a new market you need something exciting to draw the people in. The moving vans would be pulling up in 5 years if the Bucks came to OKC. They had Chris Paul before he was MVP-candidate Chris Paul, though. As in, really good, but not best point guard in the league good. Oklahoma has zero pro teams, so won't any basketball team they get be embraced as the only game in town? I know OU/OSU sports rule now, but the pro game draws a different kind of fan and market. Carmelo's a douche specifically for driving drunk, so you've got 1) a specific incident to mock, and 2) just cause in doing it, since being in situation where you can get a DUI is probably one of the top-10 asshole things you can do. I would have been kinda disappointed in Lakers fans had they not used it.

Guest blame that goot. Report post Posted April 21, 2008 You were right about the Bucks, guys. Wouldn't work. In all honesty, the Hornets should've stayed in Oklahoma City instead of trying to force themselves back into a market that can't sustain them. The Bucks are 4th in popularity behind Marquette, the Badgers, and UWM, though, and if they're bitching about the Bradley Center, then there's no real reason for them to remain in Milwaukee. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 I can think of 10 worse things to do than get a DUI. Well, I meant driving drunk, not the actual act of getting a DUI. I could definitely fill the list with "raping a XXX" or "murdering an xxx" or "putting it in the xxx when she wasn't inviting you to," but I was thinking more generally. I caught snippets of most of the games this weekend. No real reason to think the favorites aren't going to pull out all the series at this point, though I think Phoenix has a really good shot against the Spurs. The 76ers can pull it out against Detroit if they let up in the 2nd half of Game 2 like they did in Game 1. If this series makes it to Philly with Detroit down by 2, they're going down. teke184 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 Wizards are playing like shit tonight, down by 13 at the half with Caron Butler and Agent Zero tossing around more bricks than a construction worker. I'm really starting to regret making them my "upset special" instead of the 76ers over the Pistons.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 The colour man for TNT would've been fired just now if he'd worked for ESPN. He observed that the only reason there was such a hoopla around the hard foul is because it was on Lebron. He basically said if it was anybody else it would've been a hard foul and they would've moved on. Good observation. Also way to crush my hopes and dreams Washington. Oh well, neither of these teams will be in the finals so who cares.

Oh well, neither of these teams will be in the finals so who cares. Dude, come the fuck off of it. Jesus. Reggie Miller is a fucking idiot for just calling that a hard foul. He shoved a guy out of the air without making any effort. That is how you injure people. It was a bitch ass play by bitch ass Brenden Haywood and he should have been kicked out. http://youtube.com/watch?v=F256m3T-qKE He put as much effort as Matt Barnes did right here. And seeing as it was Matt Barnes and James White, you can toss that "it was because it was Lebron" shit out the window.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 And here's the foul in question http://youtube.com/watch?v=m827UUOsN7Y That's obviously a flagrant 2. He just pushed him right out of the air. I wouldn't be surprised if he was suspended for a game, as well.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 I like how Reggie says it is a career threatening foul, then says flagrant 1 one would be the right call. What the fuck warrents a flagrant two Reggie? Pulling out a gun and shooting him?

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 I'm getting a real kick out of seeing the Wizards get the shit kicked out of them. Not sure exactly why since I like Jamison and Butler a lot and Arenas is a pretty entertaining character, but all that shit talking by their team combined with people actually picking the Wizards to win this series when I thought there was a snowballs chance in hell of that happening, plus all the anti-LeBron nonsense from a small but vocal group of fans (looking at you Damaretarded), it all really has me pulling for the Cavs to just stomp dudes. I mean, the Cavs beat the Wizards two years ago when Arenas was fully healthy and on top of his game and LeBron was a playoff newbie, and he ran completely roughshod on the east last year, why exactly did anyone think this Wizards team had a chance to win more than a game or two? Because of DeShawn Stevenson all of a sudden thinking he's something special? Please. DeShawn Stevenson is reminding me of Tim Thomas back when he was a Knick, mouth writing checks his ass can't cash. I sort of like Arenas because he's entertaining and fun to watch when he's on a roll, but Butler and Jamison play better without him, and he's a total ballhog, he makes it so his team can't win unless he's at his absolute best scoring. He's really better suited to be a 2 guard, he gets his assists but he's way too into dominating the ball and it takes those other guys out of the game too much. Plus he's not 100% and he's been out of the lineup most of the year, there's no way that wasn't going to mess with the chemistry of that offense. So in short, anyone picking the Wizards had no clue, and LeBron is the fucking terminator.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 I like how Reggie says it is a career threatening foul, then says flagrant 1 one would be the right call. What the fuck warrents a flagrant two Reggie? Pulling out a gun and shooting him? Because Reggie remembers the days when you didn't get called for a foul for barely touching a guy. More people should shove him out of the air like that, then maybe he'll get scared of driving and drawing tick-tacky fouls. Sorry you're not going to convince me otherwise, I know how the star system works in the NBA and Lebron is a star, he gets calls. Obviously that was a bad foul, but they need to keep him out of the lane by any means possible or he'll be getting constant and-1's.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 I'm not saying I want the guy injured or anything, but people are going to have to get rough with him in the playoffs or he's going to drive on them all day. Even if he doesn't get the foul he's still going to drive on you, so make him think twice.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 So the star system was working for James White too? That makes no sense. If you are advocating risking a guys quality of life over a basketball game, you need to calm down and get another hobby besides watching sports. You shove people out of the air like that you can end careers or even worse, their ability to walk. Lebron get the calls? He is getting fouled! ON PURPOSE. They are trying to be physical with him and are fouling him on purpose...hard...when he gets in the lane. For things to be right to you they SHOULDN'T be calling fouls that are fouls? Is that what you are suggesting? You really dont' see how silly you are right here? Fouls like that ends careers. That is never acceptable. That foul leads to beatings on a street court, and it should lead to long suspensions in the NBA.

That foul leads to beatings on a street court, and it should lead to long suspensions in the NBA. I'm not talking about that situation. I'm saying that in situations where the refs would let other players play he gets a foul if he drives in the lane. I'm saying to get him to stop driving on you you need to get rough with him. I'm not saying shove him out of the air. But you need to bump him or hack him a few times on his way up and make him think twice about coming into the lane. Otherwise he's going to drive on you the entire game and score 30 and he'll get a foul call 9-10 times. So why not make it a legit foul call by getting rough with him? Maybe he'll be bruised or sore and won't want to drive on you by the end. I'm not advocating shoving him out of the air or pulling him off the rim, but a bump or elbow as he blows by you wouldn't be too bad. Gotta do something to defend the guy since nobody on the Wizards appears to be able to keep him out of the lane. You're blowing what I said out of proportion. I'm not saying to hard foul him when he's in the air.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 They have been fouling him hard. They have been fouling him hard the whole series. He got the calls on the hard fouls and you called it star treatment. what do you expect. And elbowing a guy as he blows by you? Play defense! Once again, you let the fact that a guy is popular, make you want people to play him dirty. Seriously dude...sports might be too competetive for you to watch for you if you are that series about it
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 I think he's just upset that it's not really fazing Lebron, so he's using the "STAR TREATMENT!" to try to offset that the tactic isn't really working.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 Truest cliche ever...a series doesn't really start until a team wins on the others home court. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 From my understanding, if it hits the top of the backboard and comes back down, then it's not out. Just if it goes over and out of bounds. I assume that applys to all sides of the backboard.
