scott kiss 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I am trying to list all WWF & WCW TV/PPV events that were held overseas. I am not counting UK-only PPV. Could you help ? thanks. WWF The first one was of course Summerslam 92 in London, England at the Wembley stadium In 1996 (I think), about 50 % of an edition of Raw was footage from matchs held in Germany but I don't think the show itself was held there. Raw & Smackdown tapings in England twice a year since 2004 (2005 ?) Raw is Milan, Italia in April 2007 anything else you remember ? WCW They held a Nitro taping in Australia in 1999 but I am not sure. Also, they wanted to do Uncensored there and called it Uncensored Downunder but I don't remember if this really happened. I really like those shows overseas, it gaves them a special feel.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 There were two weeks of Nitros and Thunders taped in Australia in October of 2000. They also did a Nitro and Thunder in the U.K. in November of the same year. There was also the WCW/New Japan Supershow in March '91 which was taped and later shown on PPV in North America. Lest we forget the Kollision in Korea, a WCW/New Japan show taped in North Korea, that was shown on PPV.
Bigelow34 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2008 There was a Raw in Japan sometime in 2005. Edge took on Triple H (both as heels I believe). I think Tajiri and Regal also won the tag titles on that show. That is all I remember.

thecollector77 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 I joined up just to answer this post, or at least the wCw side of it as best I could, ...I went to the wCw Melbourne Nitro on Friday 13th.October 2000 (that sold out in 47 minutes) and the Melbourne Thunder that was on the 14th of October 2000. Thunder was never advertised to play in Melbourne but tickets were anounced a few hours after the first Nitro had Sold Out. *The WCW wrestler Reno, was also not aloud into the country and was therefore cut from the orriginal card. *WCW was first in Brisbane for Nitro (this is where Hoovy was charged for resisting arrest, assaulting 6 police officers, all while totally naked in only a pair of socks that contained his extacy, hoovy was later deported then fired from wcw) *Then WCW hit Sydney for WCW Thunder, Then Melbourne, all four shows were Sold Out. *Everyone of these were TV tapings, the 2 Nitro's played live on TNT on Oct.9 & Oct.16, 2000. *Australia never aired (wednesday night) Thunder so the Sydney & Melbourne Thunders that aired on TBS on Oct.11 & Oct.18,2000 were aired free of charge to Australian viewers ONLY if you booked the PPV's WW3 and Starrcade. They played totally unannounced after the conclusion of each PPV. What you didn't see on TV from Mebourne was a dark match before Nitro, Elix Skipper.vs.Rey Mysterio. During Thunder the following night some that never made it to TV was, Big Vito.vs.Shane Douglas w.Torrie Wilson. The end of "Disco Duck" a short lived and funny ad on to the Disco Inverno/Alex Write tag team. In a tag team match against The Harris Brothers, Ron, or Don, threw Disco Duck miles back into the stands, it almost reached the upper decks!!!! Disco Duck was never seen on WCW again, and no word on where he got too was ever mentioned. Also at the end of the Melbourne Thunder Goldberg came out and offered every fan in the arena an autograph as a thank you, it almost caused a mass stampede as 11,000+ fans rushed from there seats to the one line that was a human crush of people. Goldberg with an injured and iced up elbow stayed way after midnight signing autographs untill there was no one left in the line, which is a first for the Rod Lavor Arena as NO event is ever permitted to go past midnight, EVER. Both nights also had a "best sign compertition" winner's got a free shirt. So WCW really gave the fans there moneys worth...And Some. Biggest pop's Goldberg, Sting, Scott Stiener,, Biggest Fan Favorite in EVERY show, Mike Awesome. AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME,,,, was chanted everytime he was in the ring, Australian fans just loved that 70's guy & Mike Awesome!!!!! And I think WCW knew it as they had a big 20 man Rumble match to conclude the tour, and your winner was Mike Awesome. The crowd went Bannana's and began chanting Awesome!!! He looked almost shocked with how happy the crowd was to see that he won, and no one was stopping chanting Awesome either,,, it went for at least a couple of minutes as he took a bow to all 4 sides of the crowd. Most of this was never shown on the final Thunder broadcast but I was standing right there in the 6th row behind the comantary team of Tony Shivani, and Stevie Ray. WCW also did a live (pre-taped) Nitro from Germany in 2000, I have them all on tape, and have all the dates. WCW were also planning a PPV, or at least another tour of Australia and the world. I belive it was another way for them to try and save the legacy of W.C.W. and make it WORLD Champainship Wrestling, by touring the world making it the only wrestling that truley is global every week. Then I also belive it was a few good people who knew WCW was going and it was one final way to say Thank You and give some of the worldwide fans thatlive experience they had only seen on TV before the "consortium" took over. I remembered this the other night when I Saw the match Kronik - Goldberg taped off the Aussie PPV provider and it said after the ppv thunderdownunder would be shown. I feel So Depressed over this; over not Remembering nothing, no Battle Royal and no Mike Awesome. I can't believe I may have seen Mike Awesome and not known about it. thecollector77 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2008 After going over my listings & tapes, there were no really "live" WCW oversea's shows as they were all pre-tapped or on time delay for TV due to the world time line. So TAPPED is the night the event occured, and AIRED is the date it was shown first on US Cable. The 1995 Collision in Korea (spelt collision for english release) holds the WCW and the New Japan Pro Wrestling attendence recored, Day 1 saw 150,000 fans while Day 2 had 190,000 fans in attendence. As an aside, did the Global Warning show in Melbourne, July 2002 ever shown in the U.S. I remember it having about 50,000 packed into the Telstra Dome and it was released on DVD here, but I'm not sure if it was ever shown in the U.S.

As an aside, did the Global Warning show in Melbourne, July 2002 ever shown in the U.S. I remember it having about 50,000 packed into the Telstra Dome and it was released on DVD here, but I'm not sure if it was ever shown in the U.S. Flair did an in ring interview during the Thunder taping and I remenered he did stop a couple times becuase in all the live wrestling events I have been too, those wCw crowds have been the loudest!!! This was also the same night Elix Skipper was ragging out Goldberg (Goldberg came out a side door and through the crowd and then stood right behind Elix) Skipper eventually, slowley, turned around and got speared, then jackhammered, Kronic then came out and gave Goldberg the high times (a double choke slam) One bit of trivia....If anyone saw the airing of the Melbourne Nitro on TNT while Disco Infurno got Australia's first ever wanker chant, Tony Shivani said on comantary, "what are they saying?" While if you watched the channel 9 edited replay that aired at about 2AM the whole crowd was silenced out and there was totally different comantary. I'm not sure on the exsact number but I know Global Warning had 67,000+ as it still holds the attendence recored for Colonial Stadium (now called Teltra Dome) ...and probley the only time you'll see a Rock & Triple H duel peoples elbow. The DVD was eventually distibuted worldwide but it never aired in the US as a PPV like the UK's Rebelion & Insurection PPV's of the time. ...It may also have aired or been avalible on WWE-24/7 since that time awell ??
