the pinjockey Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Given that resources need to be held for Carter and seeing what Cammaleri fetched, I like the deal. RJ is solid, but probably not worth the cost given who else needs reupping.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Islanders trade #7 to Nashville for #9/#40. LOL.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 I was hoping Chiarelli would trade up to get Wilson.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Whoever Vancouver picks will be forbidden to even touch a motorcycle.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 LA sends #12 to Buffalo for #13/3rd in 2009.
CanadianChris Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Kings trade #12 to Buffalo for #13 and a 3rd rounder next year.
CanadianChris Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 My brother-in-law and nephew are in the crowd somewhere. I could never figure out the appeal of attending a draft in any sport.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 It seems all they do is boo Bettman and cheer trades.
CanadianChris Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Well, booing Bettman in person has some appeal.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Can we sit these guys closer to the stage? Christ on a pony, I have things to do tonight.
Nightwing Posted June 21, 2008 Author Report Posted June 21, 2008 I just remembered the draft was on when I saw this thread. Holy shit, this sounds like it's been pretty wacky with all the trades back and forth. I wish I had seen the Islanders thing.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Ottawa sends #18/3rd in 2009 to Nashville for #15.
CanadianChris Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Nashville trades #15 to Ottawa for #18 and a 2009 3rd rounder. That woke the crowd up.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 As a Flames fan, I'm very pleased so far.
CanadianChris Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 And apparently Ottawa has extended Chris Kelly's contract for another four years.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Del Zotto. Del Zotto. Del Zotto. Please. Please. Please.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Colborne is a great pick too. Makes more sense. Good smarts, good wheels. Kind of a project.
Zetterberg is God Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Pretty decent pick by the Wings. They needed another goalie in the system and I was reading some good things about McCollum.
Red Baron Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Considering Montreal gave away their picks for Tanguay, what a steal. Oh King, you are going to love Drew Doughty. Kid is a stud.
Matt Young Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 You're the Los Angeles Kings. You just finished tied for the lowest point total in the league. What do you do? Trade your leading scorer for 1 mid-first round draft pick. Brilliant. I'm just now getting into the sport and already I can see why my die-hard Kings fan friend is so frustrated by the franchise. EDIT: Cloutier on waivers and likely bought out if he clears? Awesome. What an overpaid, useless piece of shit.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 I don't think Lombardi did all that badly. Cammalleri wasn't going to sign with them longterm so they moved him and got Teubert at #13 as well as another 3rd rounder next year. So far, they're building up the blueline with Johnson, Doughty and Teubert. That's going to be a ridiculously hard top three to play against in a few years. So he came in with #2, #28 and an unhappy Mike Cammalleri and left with Drew Doughty, Colten Teubert, and a third rounder next year. They got two out of the three players they wanted (they also wanted Tyler Myers apparently) and majorly built up the blueline for years to come. Not a bad day.
Red Baron Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 No its not. What is all this talk about Sundin to the Habs? I'm sure we can call the Canadiens the European Union right now.
the max Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=241327&...os=topStory_nhl Hossa breaks off talks with Penguins. Will become a UFA.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Like it was Tuesday morning in the OaO Raw threads, can I get a rundown of yesterday's draft? Trades, and did they actually boo Bettman?

Not a bad day. don't forget thomas hickey, either. cammalleri is good, but lets not go crazy. the kings are gonna be scary good if their prospects develop as they should. their defense and goaltending will be set. kopitar, brown, sullivan, frolov up front is nothing to sneaze at. they're looking great, actually.
RepoMan Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Trades, and did they actually boo Bettman? Has he ever NOT been booed while in front of a public audience?
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Return of the mullet. Good luck Tampa Bay, you are going to need it. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=241471&lid...s=headlines_nhl
Smartly Pretty Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Del Zotto. Del Zotto. Del Zotto. Please. Please. Please. Haha, after you take Brad Park and Ken Morrow from me in the NHL All Time Draft, isn't it funny that my team nabs Del Zotto from yours in the real draft? At least I think it's sort of funny.
