Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 I'll take my final defenseman with this pick: Kenny Jönsson, D Swedish Elite League rookie of the year, 1993 Swedish Elite League player of the year, 2006 Two time Olympic gold medalist (1994, 2006) World Championship gold (2006), silver (2004) and bronze (1994) medalist Named best defenseman at the 2006 Olympics NHL All Star, 1999
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Alright, I still need some defencemen, and I'd like a tough guy before I add a goon. Not very offensive (except to Punch Imlach), but a great hitter, and a tough guy. He came back into overtime to score the winner in Game 6 of the 64 Cup Finals after breaking his ankle in the first period. Gentlemen, Bob Baun.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Well, my right winger made it, anyway: Gamblin' Rick Tocchet, RW As for my last left winger, he was a slightly sentimental pick, but he was tough and could score when needed, and is a perfect fit on the fourth line: Wendel Clark, LW
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 God dammit. Even though I knew he wouldn't make it back to me, I was hoping for Clark. Tocchet's a good pick, too.

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 I'm still torn between two forwards, so I'll let the rest of you decide for me, and I'll lock up my backup goalie. Might be a bit of a stretch in an all-time draft, but plenty of pedigree, and a fine junior career. Roberto Luongo.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 WhatIf didn't quite work out as planned, so we'll do a regular season like the NBA draft; each GM will 'sell' us on his team and once that's done, PM me your ranks of each team (1-14), and the top eight teams will make the 'playoffs'. I haven't quite worked out a playoff scheme yet, but I'm thinking something along the lines of assigning three or four guys to roundtable each series. Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Yeah I can't think of a forward so I'll grab my backup now as well. Probably better choices out there but I think this guy is a good fit. Solid team guy and you wouldn't hesitate to throw him in. Also the "worst" goalie to win three Cups, including two as a starter: Chris Osgood, G 363 wins 47 shutouts 2.43 career GAA Three Stanley Cup championships Two time Jennings trophy winner Four time all star Scored a goal in a 1996 game versus Hartford

Guest Report post Posted July 4, 2008 I need another forward, preferably a right handed shot. I realized Owen Nolan wasn't taken. He's my guy. One of few real power forwards to come after Neely.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Good picks. Nolan was one of three missing parts of a curious stat I noticed; I won't mention it as it's pretty well name-dropping, at least not for now. I doubt the other two will be taken; maybe one of them. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 I'm curious now. Since I'm done picking skaters, could you PM me who you're talking about?

MFer 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Martin St. Louis 2004 Art Ross, Hart, and Lester B. Pearson winner 4-time NHL All-Star 2004 NHL All-Star 1st team 2007 NHL All-Star 2nd team He's small, but he's a damn good player too. Gives my team that shot of "electricity" that I need. Also leaves me with five former Hart winners on my squad.
