Both Canadian Brandon & Franchise's times have passed and Mellow said to pass him so it's time for...me:

Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit - WCW Monday Nitro - October 16, 1995

This was on the Benoit DVD. They had good matches in the WWE too but they were always somewhat limited by the style. Not here...9 minutes of non-stop action.

Pardon my tardiness, my last pick, which unfortunately I cannot find the right picture:

The Mountie v. Rowdy Roddy Piper/WWF I-C Title/Royal Rumble '92/January 19, 1992

The match isn't great, but I love the interviews before the match, and Gorilla and the Brain are priceless during this brief encounter.

Shit, last match huh? Hmm..

I wish we could take matches that haven't happened yet but most likely will..(round 21, anyone?)

Hmm..

I guess I'll go with a match that was more about the hype/storyline than the actual wrestling (obviously). I can't find a good picture, but my final pick is:

Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon - Street Fight - Wrestlemania X7

I was totally prepared to take one match here pretty much for the last three rounds (Hart Foundation vs. UT/Austin/Dude Love flag match, from my all time favourite RAW in Halifax, NS), but I just stumbled across this match a couple of days ago and I just have to take it with my last pick (sorry, can't find a picture):

WWF Tag Team Championship match: The Quebecers [c] vs. Bret & Owen Hart, Royal Rumble, January 22, 1994

Never have I seen a man's leg get kicked out of his leg as Owen did to Bret here. :)

For all intents the last pick. Surprising a bit that we have not selected a single match from the vast archives of the AWA. With my final selection, I take perhaps their best match.

Nick Bockwinkel vs. Curt Hennig - November 15, 1986 - One Hour Draw

ICP vs. Two Doinks

JCW Home Video vol. 1

The commentary on the first two tapes his hilarious, though the gay jokes tend to get old on repeated viewings, but they're rarely as funny as when they're commenting on their own match. And this is the most watchable of the matches they've put out.

Toughman Contest

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Mankind

RAW is WAR

November 18, 1996

New Haven, CT

The night after Austin got the biggest rub of his career (up until that point) he was to wrestle Vader in a (soon-to-be-not-so) rare heel versus heel match, dubbed a "toughman contest" or something like that. Well, Vader ended up suffering an injury the night before, and, instead, Austin was paired with Foley for the first time that I could even recall. The result was a crazy brawl that ended up everywhere except for the ring. The match did finally start once they made it there, which only took five or six minutes or so. While this match was eventually ruled a no-contest, it was still a very memorable contest. It really embodied everything that the WWF was becoming en route to the attitude era.

Demolition vs. Hart Foundation (WWF tag titles, Summerslam 90)

Just watched this last week and strongly considered it.

Ted DiBiase vs. Virgil (Million Dollar Belt, Summerslam 91)

Was in the running as a feel-good selection.

Eddy Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle (WWE World title, WrestleMania XX)

What- this wasn't picked? I totally overlooked this one.

A couple of my near misses:

Harts-Demos SS '90

Virgil-Dibiase SS '91

(Both great choices already mentioned)

Malenko-Rey GAB '96

Horsemen v. Raven & Saturn Spring Stampede 99 (If it wasn't a cheap ending and the dumb decision to take the belts off of the Horsemen one week before the show. I hate when promoters do that.)

Savage-Michaels Euro Rampage 92

And the Jericho-Triple H match I took in the 10th Round.

I will have the full stats tomorrow, but Shawn Michaels was in 34 of the 240 matches selected, most of any wrestler.

That was my backup in case someone took the Pitbulls match or Raven/Benoit.
